Nice quiet little park. Have water and electric for $12….can’t beat that price
Great spot once you make the steep road up!!! We camped close to the entrance. We explored and found some amazing sites further back
Located right outside the park. It’s free!!!
The designated campground is now closed to camping. We ended up staying at the boat ramp
Not a bad little campground. Well kept, bathrooms clean, playground in great condition. We are in site 13 with no shade….
Campground isn’t big, most sites are good size with space between. There are a few that are really close together. We stayed in 57 and had a sufficient buffer.
Close to a lot of restaurants, trails, beach, etc
The campground is small and the sites are small. Not for bigger campers. Our is 23 feet and barely made it in our site. They are close together as well. It’s such a beautiful setting we didn’t mind. Love the falls and lots of hiking to do as well.
We were there on Thursday thru Saturday. Thursday was so nice and quiet and then the weekend crew came in on Friday and it filled up fast. Unfortunately our neighbors were very noisy!!! We stayed in loop A, the other loops had many campers set up for the recent flood victims. Loop A was our favorite and it was close to the lake!
We were here during the week and it was almost empty. The campground is set up in “pods” with 8 sites per pod. Would be great for family and friend camping together. Bath house was clean!!!
Loved the area, the campground and the local hikes available I gave it 4 stars because our site was soooo close to the one next to us. We stayed in. 118. I would definitely go back….to a different site
Nice and quiet! LOTS of area to park and be isolated. Easy drive to Santa Fe
Small with 5 RV sites and a few tent sites. Each RV site has a picnic table and a cover. Filled up quick. Quiet except a little road noise.
It’s literally a parking lot. Close to a trailhead. It’s reservation only now.
We stayed in the campground that has no hookups. It’s really quiet after dark. The stars are amazing!!! They do have 2 sections…1 with generators allowed and 1 not. We are spaced far enough that you don’t seem to be sitting on top of each other. We were supposed to stay 10 days and would have to move 2 times but we cut our visit short and only moved once.
We arrived in November and were the only ones here. The spots are lake front with covered picnic tables. No hook ups available. View was amazing.
Beautiful lake front dispersed area. Free!!! Park police will check you in at your site. Can stay up to 14 days.
The only negative I have to say is it does get really crowded (the reason for 4 stars)!!! They views are amazing, it is quiet. Close to the Badlands National Park and of course Wall Drug
We arrived the day before they stopped taking reservations. We were confused as to what was reserved and what wasn’t. No host on site, no payment envelopes…. We picked a spot and unhooked and fortunately had no issues. The second day they brought payment envelopes and posted a sign. It’s $10/night mid September til May and no reservations taken. Other than the confusion, it was a really nice campground. Quiet, all the spots were shaded and spread far enough to give you some privacy. We had some visitors the morning we were packing to leave 🐄🐄🐄🐄
We happened upon this place. Found a great site near the water. Shaded, water and toilets close, but not to close. Campground host Pam was so sweet and informative. Very quiet!!!
Stopped here on our way to Glacier NP. Pulled in on a Sunday and there was only 1 other camper in the area. We found a beautiful site overlooking the reservoir. Would definitely come back. I can see where it would get busy on a weekend. The road in and out is hilly and has a bit of washboarding, we made it in and out without any problems
