Access roads to most RV parks are well-maintained and accommodate large motorhomes without difficulty, though some back-in sites require careful maneuvering.
"I stayed with full hookups, but no cable (don't need it, so don't know if it's available) and we weren't close enough to connect to the WIFI (only close enough to occasionally see 1 bar pop up)."
"This a a very quiet, clean campground. They directed us to our side and the staff was very friendly. Although we didn’t use it, the beach looked nice and a good play set for the kits."
"They are very laid back and allow their campers to enjoy their experience as they wish to enjoy it whether that is long term or short term."
"I would recommend this place as a 5 star camping option especially for any families Id just say of looking for peace and quiet DO NOT come on a holiday!"
"Lisa and Brent have created a perfect spot to relax for a weekend getaway and enjoy the shows at both the campground and at deer creek. RV sites are full hookup and very level."
"Our floats on the lake while listening to DMB on the speakers was just a perfect way to spend the day. Our shuttle to and from the show was great as well as the breakfast burrito I had one morning."
"We had heard that check-in involved a tight turn near the office, but we had no issues navigating the turn with our 40’ fifth wheel and F450."
"Very friendly staff. This was our first ever outing with our class A. The grounds were clean and safe. It’s very close to an interstate so it’s not exactly a picturesque setting."

We stayed for the weekend during a Campout event. Lots of fun seeing all of our camping buddies. I don’t think we would camp here otherwise as it isn’t really our type of camping. Sites are close together, so don’t expect privacy. Porta potties had not been serviced from their previous event… needless to say, it was foul. The country music museum was pretty cool. The guide was very knowledgeable!
Beautiful, great amenities too. Right off highway to travel anywhere
Nice halfway point for our road trip to Door County. We stayed here the week after Labor Day. Not sure if park staff had enough time to clean the grounds after the busy holiday weekend… There was a disappointing amount of litter at our site. We had remove the various cans, plastic bottles and ice pack out of our fire ring and the surrounding wooded area was full of more of the same including a full trash bag of garbage. And speaking of full… the pit toilets…There’s a $15 out of state fee above the $25 p/night charge. There’s only one shower for the park so be prepared. The amount of gnats and mosquitoes had us running for cover. The staff we encountered here, we’re cordial and friendly.
Great place to stay. Full hook ups, about 90 percent level sites. 33 RV sites and 3 or 4 primitive camp sites. The main bathhouse is pretty clean, included laundry, and a great host and hostess (Mark and Denise). The only bad is the price hikes here. One would think MWR would throw money towards some things...like a dog park, some leveling, lights at the kids playground, and MWR sponsored and paid for holiday parties/outings for vets, retirees, and all the active here on base. But nope, just collecting revenue without any beanies. Anyway, the host keeps it grounded.
The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Each site has water hookups as well as a firepit, electric and sewage. There is a laundry room with a small library, bath house, and a nice short trail, with a game of horseshoes. Unfortunately no more swimming or kayaking in the lake but there are other parks in the area to do so. Very peaceful back in the woods, would definitely stay here again!
Back in site, along the river, has full hooks! Wonderful bike, walking, you could even see horses on the path! Well taken care of campground, owned by the county. Lots of shade trees, clean bathrooms, playground.
Great staff, super helpful! Put us in their “VIP” spots on the “hill”. Access to the family fun zone including in the stay. So much for our littles to do! And totally safe and clean.

Quality infrastructure: White River Campground features well-designed sites with modern hookups. "The sites are spacious, the water, sewer, and electric are good. All sites are paved, grounds are great to walk," according to Kristen S., highlighting the campground's structural advantages.
Reservation requirements: Most rv sites near Carmel, Indiana fill quickly, particularly during peak periods. White River Campground gets booked early: "Fills up fast, so make your reservation. It's small but one of my favorites," advises Caitlin W.
Seasonal considerations: Indianapolis KOA operates on a limited annual schedule. "Passing through east to west and tent camping....large site comfortable for 2 tents. Nice property and friendly staff, but average to below average KOA from this camper's perspective," shares Dom C., noting the campground's seasonal limitations.
Highway noise: Some campgrounds experience road noise due to proximity to major routes. "This is a great campground for RVs and cabins, but unfortunately not for tents as the highway 69 is too noisy," warns David C. about Mystic Waters Campground.
Site conditions: Weather can affect camping experiences at certain locations. "The campground (lower) sits at a low elevation. Our site was 70% flooded," reports Garrick H. about S and H Campground during a rainy weekend, highlighting the importance of site selection.

Budget considerations: Indianapolis KOA offers family camping with variable expenses. "The water was cold but my kiddos finally got in and had fun on the slides... The one downfall was the wood prices. The bundles were $6.50 each and the entire bundle burned in about an hour. It can get expensive quick!" warns Megan T.
Extended stay options: Some campgrounds accommodate longer visits for families. "Looking for a monthly campsite in the Indianapolis area proved to be a challenge. Site selection strategy: RV sites vary significantly in quality and setup. "When you call to make a reservation, they won't give you a site # until you arrive. Honestly if you have a big rig or large TT don't go to that side. Ask for on the hill and backed up to the fun park," advises Garrick H. about S and H Campground.
Connectivity issues: WiFi access varies across campgrounds in the region. "We found the wifi only reaches in sections A-B even though it's advertised as reaching the entire camp. Camp office and IT support were no help," reports Jeremiah G. from White River Campground.
First-time RVer support: Some campgrounds provide extra assistance for newcomers. "It was our first night in our brand new RV. Our first RV. Wendy was awesome! She helped with the reservation, she greeted us when we arrived, she even called to make sure we were doing ok driving it the first day," shares Marcandpatti B. about their Mystic Waters experience.
