A truly hidden paradise

They have many activities, but we were stopping just for the night. It was a campground I would definitely go back to.

Nice camping on the river

We stayed in site 107 on a Sunday night and had the section all to ourselves. I think the place is quite busy on weekends though. Our son fished and we watched random people float down river. It was perfect for overnight stay passing through. I was concerned driving in as neighborhood looked a…

We love this little gem!

Hiked in the morning on some great trails. Well maintained and mostly stone covered. Most have trail markers. You walk along the river during parts of trail 5. Very peaceful. Biked during the afternoon. Ok I modified my review. The trains at 3 am was annoying. Just saying.

Nice Campground

Mounds is a lovely state park, and the campground is nice, but certainly not one of my favorites. I would return for a weekend excursion, but probably not for an extended stay. Campground was a bit loud due to proximity to the airport. We came right after a big rain and a lot of the sites were…

Great family spot

This campground is great! The creek is awesome for catching tadpoles and minnows. And definitely take time to float or kayak down the river. The pond is stocked with GIANT fish (catch and release only) and definitely go for a hike over at Turkey Run. Our site (4) was a good location for us,…

Surprisingly pleasant!

This was our second stay here…campground is surrounded by corn fields but park itself is quite picturesque with mature trees, a lake, and very well-manicured grounds. Many sites have long-term occupants but overnighters just as welcome. Main bathrooms are up front and clean and modern while rustic…

Nice, quiet lake campground

We stayed over July 4th weekend  Campground was crowded, but very quiet.  Most sites are shady, and some a feet from the lake.  A lot of kayakers when we stayed, very few boats.  Our site had some shade, and had a level gravel pad.  Once off the gravel, it did slope.  We wanted a flat area for our…

Rustic

with anywhere you go, it is important to read the description and look at the pictures. I saw gravel RV sites, that's what I received. I read about a fee for using the premium amenities and I payed it. I found out when the cafe was open and I visited during those hours. I saw no mention of wi-fi…

Nice long weekend

Arrived on Thursday for July 4th weekend. Park is very nice, weather was comfortable. Only issue was Saturday morning a power outage to a part of the park left all water in the entire state park off for 3-4 hours.

What a fun place for kids!

This is just a really cute park to camp in, especially with kids. There is an abundance of activities to keep you and the little ones happy, especially around holidays. The amenities are great and the sites definitely large enough not to feel crowded.

A nice way to get out of the city.

Summit Lake is a very nice place to get away for a weekend from Indy but not so much a destination spot. Friendly staff and well maintained. Wooded spots that are water adjacent are beautiful. Since it’s a no wake lake, the noisiest thing is usually the geese

You can rent a small boat by the day…

Nice state park with several trails around a beautiful lake

We stayed before the peak season opened up.  Potable water was available at the entrance but was not on yet in the campground itself.   The sites are well spaced out with a few pull through sites and many back ins.

Our site was a pull through and, while level left to right, required a good bit…

A nice park. Electric only.

It’s a nice park for kids. Has a nice swimming pool. Easy trails. Nice playground. $5 firewood bundles. Mostly a weekender park. It is right next to a small craft airfield do it can get noisy at times and there is little wind protection.

Weekend getaway

We have camped here a few times. Nice little weekend getaway, not sure we would choose for long lengths of time.

“Beach” and swimming area with water inflatables, and area to fish if you enjoy fishing. Several activities for kids. Campground is well kept and managed for the most part.
