Reservoir Disperse Camping near Melvin Brewing

This is a great little spot on the bank of the Snake River right opposite Melvin Brewing We enjoyed a couple of nights there The second night it did get really busy………. Access is bumpy but manageable, beer and food is great!

This spot is strange its 2 minutes off the highway but its right out front of a brewery restaurant and seems to be on a disc golf course. There are a handful of spots right up against the water with a great mountain backdrop. A single beat up wooden picnic table is out here with a few stone fire rings. Seems like a great get off the road and sleep spot but wouldn't want to hang out here as a destination. Zero shade. Verizon 5g 3 bars. The road from the brewery is about 100 yards and dirt. Its very bumpy but go slow with some clearance and its 2wd fine.

We easily found a spot right next to the water! It was quiet and peaceful. Right next to a dog friendly brewery that made for a good meal and lovely to watch the sunset! We could kayak right off from our spot. It was right after 4th of July weekend so we were having a hard time finding spots in other areas. But very grateful we came across this one! Absolutely beautiful sun set!

(October 5th, 2023) Camped in the backyard of a brewery! Got here after dark and it wasn’t totally clear where to find the camp spots, but after some exploring we got to the best site (43.1666131, -111.0380217). Great beer (and bathrooms) were just a quick walk away!

Directions are clear but seem sketch when following, but you will know when you arrive. Tight area with several campers adjacent to a resevoir and huge hills of gravel ate the entrance to the brewery.

Easy to find spot by the reservoir and Melvin Brewing. Stayed on the upper part. Swarms of those flying ants when I stayed here. Mosquitos came out once the sun went down. Note the brewery is closed Mon/Tues, sad I missed out as I stayed Tuesday.

Great spot overlooking the Snake River about 80 yards from great beer and food, live entertainment 2 days.

Close to brewery, as far as I can tell if their is a flat spot and fire ring you can park for 5 days MAX! And the local LE is strict on that. Also be advised the tides change often many people have found themselves under water as told by the wait staff at Melvin.

We have tried many dispersed camping spots now and this is by far the best one we’ve visited. Easy access to lake swimming, free WiFi at the brewery and many spots to choose from. Nice July temperatures. Would definitely come back!

Our first time boondocking in a camper van and we may be spoiled for life! Had a spot right on the water, with an brewery 100 yards away. The people were great, the brews were tasty and the sunset was stunning. 10/10

Right off the road with plenty of spots in October. 100 yards from a brewery. Unknown if it is loud at night because it was closed on the day we camped here. Good cell service.

Initially did Harvest Hosts to stay at Melvin and got a nice spot, but wound up venturing over to the dispersed area. There are tons of places to go—some a little sketchy if you have a larger rig.

Beautiful setting and great beer. I recommend their Heyzeus. Boondocking at its best. Bugs were not bad at all the night we were there.

Lots of space available for dispersed camping . Beautiful views and great location in town but still away from all road noise. ATT and Verizon service good .

Had drinks and dinner at the brewery. Set up camp. Very quiet. Minimal road noise. Everyone is spread out. Main issue—can’t really tell how far the reservoir tide will come up. We set our chairs up by a fire pit before dinner and came back to them in a few inches of water. A few other people seem like they’re getting encroached by water too so just be mindful when you pick a spot or leave stuff behind.

This is a great wide open site with excellent views and an added bonus of a brewery in walking distance.

Lots of open area and good swimming but can get a lot of traffic during summer.
