Picabo Angler Silver Creek RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Free, drive-in access and full hookups at no cost make Picabo Angler Silver Creek RV Park an unusual stop along Idaho Highway 20. The layout is an open five-acre field with a gravel road looping the perimeter. No designated sites. Campers pick a spot along the road, which keeps the setup flexible but also means the experience varies depending on where you park and how many rigs have arrived ahead of you.

Most spots are long and level, with water and electric available at the majority of them, plus a dump station on-site. Fire pits are shared between one or two adjacent spots, and picnic tables are present, though at least one reviewer found theirs noticeably uneven. A small creek runs along the edge of the field. The feed store next door sells propane, and a small market sits across the road, which is useful for quick resupply. Fly anglers will recognize the area: Silver Creek, known regionally for its fly fishing, runs nearby, and Silver Creek West Access Area provides another base for anglers working that stretch of water.

"Not so much a destination if you're not into world class flyfishing," notes Bobby, which fairly captures the campground's appeal. Several visitors have used it as a staging point for Craters of the Moon National Monument day trips. The bathrooms have drawn mixed reports, and the irrigation sprinklers can activate without warning. Worth a look if you need a no-cost overnight with hookups in this part of south-central Idaho.

A basic RV park offering level sites with hookups in a quiet farming valley. Visitors often highlighted convenient amenities, though some noted maintenance issues with facilities and minimal site definition.

Just okay

Spent two nights here so we could visit nearby Craters of the Moon. Spaces are long and level at least. Fire pits are shared with 1-2 other spots. Our table was completely leaning over. Neither of the bathroom toilets would flush. The sprinklers came on in the middle of camp and soaked everything with no warning. Okay if you need a quick stop for the night.

Nice small campground

Small campground right next to the road but it wasn’t super busy. Most sites are back in and are huge. Water and electric are in most sites. There is a dump station but was awkward getting into it. The Feed store next door sells propane and there’s a small market across the road. We stayed here while visiting Craters if the Moon National Monument.

Perfect for the flyfisherman

We lucked into this spot at Silver Creek while doing some great fishing right down the road. All the amenities and clean and safe.

Not so much a destination if your not into world class flyfishing. However, perfect if you are there to wet a line and have a nice fly fishing destination experience.

No issues whatsoever.

Picabo Angler Silver Creek RV Park

Picabo Angler Silver Creek RV Park is an open 5 acre field set in the center of a quiet farming valley. There are no "camp sites" just a gravel road running around the field. Find a spot you like and park. It has a small creek running along the edge. There is a single pit toilet. We stayed here 9/28/2020. We saw two moose on the way in and had coyotes serenade us at night. we only stayed here because it was getting late and needed some place to park our truck camper for the night. Would not make this a destiination.
