    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Bonner County Fairgrounds accommodates tent and RV camping with pets in Sandpoint on paved sites with water and electrical hookups. Dogs must remain leashed throughout the campground, with several grassy areas available for pet exercise. The campground provides trash receptacles for pet waste disposal and maintains clean facilities that include hot showers and restrooms. Pets are permitted at all 33 sites, though tents are not allowed on grassy areas. Sites are somewhat close together but provide adequate room for RVs up to 34 feet in length. Campers particularly appreciate the extensive space around the fairgrounds perimeter for walking dogs, especially important when various events are taking place on the grounds.

Travel America RV Park in Sagle welcomes pets with spacious, grassy sites under shade trees approximately 10 minutes from downtown Sandpoint. The RV park offers full hookups with 50-amp service and permits both tent camping and glamping options alongside traditional RV sites. City Beach RV Park provides an alternative location with waterfront access, though train noise impacts the experience for some visitors with pets. Both locations enforce standard leash requirements and provide waste disposal facilities. Riley Creek and Springy Point campgrounds offer additional pet-friendly options with direct water access, where many visitors note the pleasant swimming areas for dogs at dedicated pet beaches. Clean facilities and helpful camp hosts make these locations particularly suitable for campers traveling with animals.

      Schweitzer Mountain Fire Station

      Beautiful Drive & Free

Came up here to escape the 90+ degree heat.  Seemed like everything in the area was either booked or $70 per night, so I opted for mountain air rather than AC on my trailer.

Scenic 15 minute drive up from Sandpoint.  It's a paved two lane road with a number of switchbacks - I think even larger rigs should be fine as the hairpins were pretty wide.  Fire station and RV parking is located to the left of a large roundabout with a green Schweitzer sign.  Big gravel lot with space for dozens of rigs.  You shouldn't have trouble finding space.  There's a restroom and a number of garbage dumpsters you can use.

Per the website, you're allowed to camp there for three days.  Didn't appear to be any check-in process or anything, you can just pull up and park.

There's some road noise with a number of trucks driving by, but hey, it's a free place to camp for a few days.  Nice of them to offer this.

      River Walk RV Park

Parking lot near river and bike trail

It is hard to find many positives about this place. It has nothing to do with the people, but only about the "campground". It is a parking lot. No grass. Very tight. Lots of seasonal folks. There is a dog park. It Is right on the river. It is right on the bike trail. It is close to town. Beyond that. There is nothing that I deem attractive or desirable about this place. So for me personally, we passed. Please check out the photos and judge for yourself.

      Blue Lake RV Resort

      Cute RV park

Cute little RV park off the highway. Very quite with a small lake. Families can enjoy fishing, swimming, yard games, fire pit, and very dog friendly with a fenced dog park. We are tent campers and had a nice spot on lake. only a few tent sites. Super clean bathrooms with hot shower.

      Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

      Coeur d'Alene RV Resort

      Nice Public Bldg

We stayed the night in January and had a late check-in. Paid $69 and had access to full hookups. If you are not there before 5 pm they will not share the code for the bathrooms, etc so beware! Neighbors are told not to give out the code so we had quite a time trying to get in! The public building has bathrooms, laundry, pool, small store and a nice lounge. Lots are quite close together but it is neatly laid out with a few dog parks.

      Wolf Lodge Campground

      Clean and convenient

Made my reservation for an overnight stay over the phone on my way there. Staff was very kind and friendly. I came after the office was closed and a map was left for which tent site was mine. Very clean campgrounds, had a cute little dog park in it too. Ample amount of restrooms and showers available, that were spotless and well stocked.

    Guide to Sandpoint

Bonner County Fairgrounds offers spacious campgrounds for RV and tent campers with pets, featuring water and electric hookups at most sites. The fairground camping area maintains a pet-friendly environment with ample space for dog walking throughout the grounds. Dogs must remain on leash at all times, with numerous grassy areas available for pet exercise. Nearby Travel America RV Park also accommodates pets with full hookup sites including water, sewer, and electric connections. Springy Point Campground provides a designated dog beach separate from the swimming area, giving pets lake access while maintaining cleanliness at the main beach. The train tracks near some campgrounds can be noisy for pets sensitive to sound, with multiple reviewers noting occasional train horns at crossings.

The fairground location provides convenient access to Sandpoint's extensive trail system, with easy bike rides into town via connecting paths. City of Sandpoint Beach RV Park places campers within walking distance of downtown shops and restaurants, though the proximity to train tracks requires consideration for noise-sensitive pets. Most campgrounds enforce standard pet policies requiring current vaccinations, waste cleanup, and leash control. Riley Creek and Round Lake State Park campgrounds offer additional pet-friendly options with varying amenities. Sandpoint's surrounding natural areas feature numerous hiking trails and water access points suitable for dogs, with most requiring leashes on designated paths. The combination of lakeside access, forested campsites, and proximity to town makes Sandpoint an ideal destination for camping with dogs of all sizes.
