Okay.

Nice area around campground. People in charge were not nice. Campsites were too small.

One of our all time favorites! Great mountain biking!

Tent camping at Whitetail campground has plenty of site room and good privacy. Camp hosts did an excellent job of keeping the campground clean. Restroom facilities and showers well kept and clean.

Something for Everyone!

Farragut State Park in scenic Northern Idaho is a huge campground that is open year-round. It is like summer camp for families and truly has something for everyone; a HUGE and amazing obstacle course/tree park, disc golf, great trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There is a beautiful lake for water sports and plenty of activities to do in the winter. Give yourself a week to enjoy this treasure!

Beautiful River Areas Nearby

Firewood was on site. This scenic bay like area features great swimming and hiking. Camp cites are very close to the water, and the sites themselves are well arranged. I came here in a group of students from my school and there was plenty of space for all of us to set up.

There is a place to get boats in the water, and their is a lot of tourist facilities set up such as restrooms and showers.

This camp ground is open in the winter too!

Very well maintained sites

This is a very family friendly place to camp. All the sites are compatible with tent or rv camping. We stayed in site 104, in a tent. It was a nice big spot - could definitely accommodate and rv and tent or 2-3 large tents. All spots come with a fire ring and table. Site 104 is semi-private. Depending on how you set up camp, you’ll get more or less privacy. Can see the sites to either side of you and across the street. The camp is very clean and very well maintained. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly and The camp hosts are very friendly. It’s a great place if you’re looking for easy camping with the kids. The lake is not that close. I was about 9 months pregnant when we camped here and the walk down to the boat launch/beach area was okay, but the was back up the steep hill was painful! I’d recommend driving down to the water if you have a lot of stuff, small children, or are pregnant.

A really big park with lots to do

Pros: The park is beautiful. We had fun boating and swimming on the lake. Lots of bike riding and hiking. A good junior ranger program. A historic museum to visit and some old ruins to explore (in the dark?). FREE hot showers!!!!! Flat, clean campsites. Cons: They don’t allow hammocks. No dogs at the swimming beach. The camp host was not very friendly. The park is really big. It’s divided up into separate campgrounds (we stayed in whitetail) so it keeps the size from being overwhelming. But it still has the feel of a “big park”.

A night to remember!

Back when I was 19, I stayed at Farragut back around June 2013. I was with a friend’s family and I guess we didn’t bring a tent. We only had sleeping bags and a fire to keep us warm. We ended up burning every pine needle/leaf in our area. The night was very long and cold.

In the morning, I ran to the hot showers. While my best friend chose to stay in her sleeping bag cocoon, on the ground. Thank goodness they have showers!! I drove away around 7am, it was so foggy it seemed like Silent Hill, and deer were in large groups jumping across the foggy road. Leaving my best friend to go on my first date with my now fiancé.

Other than the cold, the camp ground was beautiful and quiet for how populated it was. We even were invited to a game of volleyball with another family. Fond memories even with such a dreadful night and tear inducing morning!

Roller Coasters & Nature

A huge park 🏞you will never run out of space to explore here. My family camped here many times throughout my childhood. Close to Silverwood Theme Park 🎡you can spend the day playing on rides 🎢 and the night sitting around the campfire 🔥I remember one day we saw a mother bear 🐻and her cubs as we were picnicking in the day area. Definitely the best of both worlds.

Lots of options

Went here on a complete whim during peak seasons in the summer and still had spots remaining to pitch a tent. The park itself is massive and plenty of fun options from swimming in Lake Pend O’ Reille to disc golf there at the course in the park. Bathrooms were clean, water was abundant and if you wanted to grab food/beer Bayview is only a few minutes away. Stayed at Whitetail campground at $27 a night for no hookups

Farragut State Park

Beautiful campsite with lots of shade! There are many activities for the whole family including hiking, biking and disc golf. We stayed on a large plot with a nice level area to set up a tent. There are nice shower and bathroom facilities available also. Our site included a large picnic table and firepit with built in grill top. The water was close but it is a steep grade down and back out of the water which made bringing a kayak or SUP difficult. There is easy access to both Silverwood and Coeur D'Alene Idaho outside the campground. Apparently there is a former U.S. Naval brig turned museum at the park as well. We did not visit on this occasion but will definitely try it out on our next trip!

Not really "roughing it".

Stayed two nights with the kids. This campground is pretty crowded and the spaces are small. I like a more rustic camping experience with less people. Having said that, it was very clean.

Beautiful Lake

We stayed in Whitetail tent campground, in the spring. It was not busy so it was peaceful - didn't hear other campers but we did hear some coyotes! Perhaps with more people the campsites are close, but I think that's the case when you stay in any state park campground. Close water spouts and the bathrooms were probably the nicest campground bathroom I've ever seen. Lake is beautiful, there are loads of trails and the disc golf courses are fun!
