If you love the water this is the perfect park for you. With its own beach and multiple boat ramp areas, this park makes the perfect transition for camping and waterplay. Kayaking and yoga as the sun rises over the water could not of been more perfect.
We got to this wonderful campground on a Monday afternoon and left Friday morning and it was probably no more than 75% full that week. It was super quiet and well-maintained. The 72,000 acre lake is clear and clean and is great for boating, kayaking, fishing or swimming. My husband caught and…

We spent a couple of nights in Mistletoe State Park in Georgia while we investigated my husband's ancestry. This park is truly beautiful. As you enter and drive through the park you are surrounded by virgin forest and arrive at beautiful Lake Thurmond. Our campsite was the best we have ever had…

Myself and 2 friends stayed in one of the 5 Yurts on the lake. Every morning we watched the sun rise over the trees, to start our days. Every evening, we gathered on the back deck to watch the sun setting. Let me tell you, absolutely breathtaking!
Plenty of room inside the structure for 3 adults,…

Campsite 10 at Fort Yargo has a lovely water view. Temporary home to a family of geese and one white duck. Shower house was adequate. There was enough room between campsites. The registration/ camp store was nice. Many trails - some paved. Signage is not so great if arriving after hours as we did.…
We originally was staying only three days, but loved it so much we stayed all seven!! Great park management and beautiful sites
We absolutely loved this campsite(#45) it was our first time there. We did a last minute trip from Orlando, Fl and it was great. We showed up late Friday, 30 min before closing. They had a sign on the window with the number to inform the tenant and the option to purchase firewood. We only got one…

We had a great time the puppies enjoy it too
We stayed here for 4 nights in late April 2021. The weather was cool, and beautiful. We stayed in campsite 17, and had a small teardrop trailer. The site is a bit cramped with a trailer and a vehicle parked in it, and we had no room to open our awning. There are other sites in the same loop that…
We have been going here since I was a kid. Now I take my kids to old salem. Its great. They have playgrounds and a beach. A Pavillion area for party's and lots of lake to fish 🐟 on. We love it.

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Spent 7 nights. The weekend nights were so crowded with cars spilling into the camp roads, loads of large groups at each site. Felt very claustrophobic. On weekdays the park became a(lovely) ghost town. Very hilly within…
We enjoy thus campground as many sure are either on the water or a good view of the water. Campground is super clean. We will be camping here again as soon as we can.
We pondered taking a canoe out on the lake but maybe next time.
Oct 26-28, 2021. Site#6
Campground was very quiet, relaxing. Campground has 30 sites and was full the weekend of our visit. Only negative to the park, although somewhat centrally located, there is only one bathhouse for the campground.
Sites 1-20 get the morning sun, 21-30 get the…

Fort Yargo is a bit of history for Georgia, restored cabin from 1792. Boating, hiking, camping and cabins with another area that is a private resort. Lots of room 1816 acres, 16 cabins, 6 yurts. Many tent and trailers spots. #34 has full hookups. There is a nice pavilion and a fairly new welcome…
