Camground is now a KOA

On my way back from Florida to the NC mountains, I spent a night at the KOA campground on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA. I was in a full hook-up pull-through site#44. As you can see from the photos, the campground is right on the lake and has many campsites. The campground staff was accommodating during check-in and when getting to my site. However, the campground itself is pretty worn. Roads are poor. Decking at sites needs repair. At $108.90, for one night, there is little reinvestment in the campground grounds and facilities. The local area is proliferating with many upscale homes and businesses. I expected a more updated set of facilities. Site#44 has a lake view, which is nice, but it is one of 3 sites butted up end to end on the side of the road, with the site to my left currently unusable with some repair work going on. The site has a sizeable two-tier deck, grill, and firepit, but it had not been cleaned off in some time, with chairs and tree debris strewn around. I would skip this campground if I were back in the area.

It’s a KOA

We had to move sites when we first got here because our slide was too big. The valet and office staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We got a better site down by the lake. It was a cost upgrade but we didn’t mind. Mayflies are hatching but don’t seem to be bad.

Hidden Gem

We stayed here for 2 weeks through our TRA plan and I have to say this park is lovely! Our site was right on the water with balcony and the view was stunning. We can not wait to go back

Ants ants ants did I say ants?

This is a beautiful campground right on the water but they have a very serious ant infestation. When I say they are everywhere I mean OMG they are literally everywhere in swarms and now including all in our camper. We couldn’t use either of the pools because there was a literal blanket of ants on top of the water. The swim beach was okay but also super dirty, there was poop everywhere. The spots by the water do have a beautiful view so it would be great if they solved their grounds issue.

Nice people but close to interstate & needs update

This campground is rather large with numerous amenities and a very nice staff. However, the noise from I20, which is very close, comes over the weekend after to flood the campground with truck and traffic sound 24 hours. The roads are narrow and degrading as are the site pads, but it’s a generally okay place if you can tolerate the noise.

Really gorgeous- intend to camp here again!

Beautiful lake views, RV sites with patios and bbqs. Fishing, boat ramp, pool, charming train theme. You can even sleep overnight in a train car cabin. Not great cell reception, and wifi seems to only work in the front portion of the park, but the back is where the great views are.

Beautiful location on a lake.

Nice and quiet, large location with many sites. More expensive than most but full hookups. Some sites are kind of rough. Depending on the road you take in watch for a low train bridge that appears tall but the road goes up on the other side and it will get you.

Beautiful Lake and Friendly People

Located on Lake Oconee, North Shore Landing is a KOA/TRA campground. There is a dock to fish from, and a boat launch if you want to go out. There's some very large catfish in the lake, 30+ lbs. There's also bass, blue gill and crappie. The campground is per friendly, full hook-up, with WiFi (pay for premium). There is a pool, clubhouse and 24 hour laundry that's $3 per load, w&d. There's a dog park, basketball and cornhole. Propane fill and dump station.

Tight Camping

Folks were nice and present but the sites are very tight. We came in and were not happy with our site l. The staff did try to help us find a better site but they are very limited on 50amp sites. The place did look very nice with lots of different activities. Ideal for passing through.

Gem of a place

Being next to railroad tracks it has a railroad motif you can actually stay in a renovated caboose. If that’s not your thing there’s plenty of tent sites, cabins, RVs, and RV sites just a few of the many amenities are the activity center, the swimming pool, beach access to Lake Oconee ,laundromat, and dog park. There’s also plenty of helpful stuff ready to drive you down to the pool or continually working on upkeep of the property very nice. We were just passing through but I have no problem staying here again. Wonderful place.
