Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Zebulon, GA

Joe Kurz Wildlife Management Area offers primitive dispersed camping for visitors with pets, requiring a valid Georgia hunting or fishing license to stay on the property. This established natural area provides tent and RV campsites with basic amenities including fire pits, but no electric hookups, showers, or drinking water facilities. The quiet, remote setting features a pond stocked with fish, making it popular with anglers who camp with their dogs. DNR officers regularly patrol to check permits and assist campers. Sites are mostly used by tent and car campers, though travel trailers can access the area despite the lack of utility connections.

Sprewell Bluff Park provides pet-friendly accommodation options including tent sites, RV spots with 30/50 amp electric and water hookups, and cabin rentals along the Flint River. The park's hiking trails welcome leashed dogs, with a 6-mile loop trail overlooking the river that offers excellent exercise for both pets and owners. Summer visitors can enjoy swimming areas where many campers bring their dogs to splash in the water, though pets should be kept on leash in public areas. The campground's layout offers some privacy between sites, and the bath house facilities are consistently clean and well-maintained. Despite being somewhat difficult to access, the park's river recreation areas provide ample space for pets and families to spread out and enjoy nature without crowds.

    Pine Mountain Camp Ground

Well maintained roads. Large sites with choice of full sun or shade site.

Staff is great and his campground allows campfires. Pet friendly with two dog parks. Great pool and has cabins and yurts to reserve. Less than three miles from Callaway Gardens and FDR Park. Town of Pine Mountain...two street lights...very quaint sidewalk shops! This place is a hidden treasure.

    Forsyth KOA

    Bad Experience

We should have known when we first arrived not to stay here. Our welcome was very brisk and unfriendly. Our site was literally right next to the freeway with terrible freeway noise and fuel smells. We asked to be moved and our new site was so narrow that the picnic tables didn’t even fit in the site and tottered on the edge of the site’s bank. They offer site garbage pick up daily, but not to monthly stays. So they drive right by your site while picking up garbage to sites right next to you! Playground is satisfactory but the dog park is muddy and rocky. When we signed in and mentioned we were excited about having a dog park the check in person said she wouldn’t take her dog to it! I highly recommend driving right on by! We use KOA’s regularly and this campground management is far below KOA standards! Beware!

    Good Overnight Stop

This was a good overnight site.  Typical KOA pull through where you are close to your neighbor.  They have a small dog park which is a bonus.  Staff was friendly and helpful.

    Indian Springs

    Nice campground - Site 19

1st time for us to Indian Springs. Very clean and well maintained. Site 19 was on a less populated loop and a long stretch of woods on the "driver" side thus no neighbors.  Site was very easy to back into.

We stayed in March, so when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the lake. Kinda doubtful you would during the summer. Gray water dump is very close. Bathhouse was about a 2 minute walk, but didn't use it.

I'd stay on this section again, but maybe across the street. or preferably down by the water.  There's a short drop off behind the fence by the fire ring, that the dog keeps trying to go down and getting stuck - imagine little ones may love that area.

The town of Flovilla is right outside the gates, with  some shops and a nice restaurant. Dollar General is 5 mins away. Dauset Trails Nature Preserve is about 15 minutes away, but note pets aren't allowed. High Falls State park is about 15 minutes away with good hiking trails. Plus boat, and paddle board rentals.

Lake Pines RV Park & Campground

    A little hidden beauty

It’s been raining the whole weekend. Even so, this campground is a beautiful place. The only problems we have had: 1: buildings are not marked. It was hard to determine what was a private cabin vs bath house. 2: (this is a fellow camper issue not campground) someone with a large dog was just letting it run amuck! That is what ruins “pet friendly “ places. Lease your babies!!!
Like I said, this place is a beautiful campground. Definitely deserves a repeat visit!

    Atlanta Motor Speedway

    10/10 Experience!

Not only is it a racetrack, it's a campground! AMS offers full hookup camping all throughout the year! Just $35 per night - was an amazing deal! Plenty of room, plenty of spots. They have some events throughout the year - great entertainment! There's also a gift shop and tours are available - was a super cool experience (ask for Miss Jan)! Away and outside of the noise and traffic of Atlanta (thank goodness!). Friendly staff and clean property. Pets are also welcome! Definitely recommend!

    High Falls State Park Campground

    A clean stop

The campsites are very clean, and the facilities are well taken care of. It’s relatively easy to drive a trailer into your site. The downsides are that its a bit buggy - lots of flies in particular, and the sites don’t often have grass which makes it difficult if you have a pet. WiFi signal was pretty terrible, we had a hard time working remotely with our hotspots.
