Best RV Parks & Resorts near Hampton, GA

Atlanta South RV Resort in McDonough provides full hookup sites for motorhomes with 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. The resort accommodates big rigs with pull-through sites on gravel pads, though spaces are positioned relatively close together. Jones RV Park in Norcross offers similar amenities with water and electric hookups plus a dump station, catering primarily to long-term RV residents. Pine Mountain RV Resort features spacious sites with full hookups and is open year-round, making it suitable for extended stays. "This park is located just south of Atlanta and is a great place to overnight on your way to a destination, or for more long term stay for out of town workers. A little snug getting in and out with a big rig, but absolutely doable."

Throughout the region, most RV parks maintain paved interior roads with varying site surfaces from asphalt to gravel. Cell service quality differs between locations, with some parks like Chattahoochee Bend reporting limited connectivity. Many campgrounds near Hampton provide laundry facilities and clean bathhouses, though weekend crowds can impact maintenance at certain locations. Pet policies vary, with most parks allowing leashed dogs but some implementing restrictions. Several parks offer cable TV connections and trash service, while dump stations are available at multiple locations for those without full-hookup sites. During peak travel seasons, particularly fall, advance reservations are strongly recommended as parks along the I-75 corridor fill quickly with travelers.

Hard Labor Creek State Park Campground

    One of the BEST!

We were back at HLC this past weekend and, as always, top-notch park! We have tent camped for several years but recently upgraded to a new (to us) pop up and we had a blast!

We camped at site 26 (one of the newer sites) and it had full hookup (our PUP does not have a bathroom but does have a galley). The site has electric (50 amp and 30 amp service) as well as free cable TV!!

The sites at HLC are well spaced and the bath houses are spotless!!

The park staff is amazing and the camp hosts are always cleaning up and are available if you need anything!

HLC is our go-to spot for a weekend getaway because of the above-mentioned reasons and it is close to home!!

    Arrowhead Park

    Local family fun

I have lived in and around Bibb County, Georgia most of my life and I have always enjoyed going to Tobesofkee Recreation Parks. There were four parks but one was shut down (Flintrock Park). I believe the park was built back in the 60’s. Early morning on Mother’s Day of 2008 a tornado came through leaving destruction to all three parks. The campground bathhouse’s saved around 50 people that were camping when the tornado came ripping through destroying campers, cars and trees. The county has rebuilt the three parks and each one offers a little something different. It’s pretty great place in my opinion.

Claystone Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, large beach, playground, water sports, boat ramps, fishing, disc golf, several small pavilions, one large enclosed pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park and camping. The campground has 45 sites, some tents, back-ups and pull through. Not sure about tents sites but all camper sites have 20/30/50 amp service, water and poor cable service. There are a few sites with sewer. The campground does have a nice bathhouse with coin operated laundry.

Sandy Beach Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, large beach, water sports, fishing, several small pavilions, one large open pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park and a water park.

Arrowhead Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, small beach, water sports, fishing, several small pavilions, one large open pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park, mountain bike trail, playground, boat ramps and camping. The campground has 58 sites, some tents, back-ups and pull through. Not sure about tents sites but all camper sites have 20/30/50 amp service and water; no cable. There are a few sites with sewer. The campground does have two nice bathhouse with coin operated laundry.

    High Falls State Park Campground

    Beautiful

The park is gorgeous and well maintained. It’s a little tight in a place or two but we’re pulling a 40’ fifth wheel and had no problems. We stayed in spot 71 which was a pull through with large lot that was really nice. Fire pit, picnic table and grill as well. I’m uploading a set of maps. You definitely need them as the sites are marked nicely but the areas are not and it’s very confusing. Also if you use maps on a device make sure you add campground because there are a few other places you don’t want to go pulling a rig since the campground is in a state park. Great for hiking, biking, fishing etc. Plain on zero internet or cell coverage. I’m all about the camping adventure but I like to be able to contact the kids if needed. Overall great place.

    High Falls State Park Campground

    Falls

Went to High Falls State Park in January. site number 27. We stayed 8 nights There are two campgrounds- lakeside and River camping area. Lakeside is by High falls Lake and is closest to the falls. River camping is across the street we stayed in River camping area. Nice sites but open to neighbors. Sites included table, fire ring, lantern hook. Some sites are 30 amp some 50 amp and had some pull through sites. After the weekend we were one of only a few in the campground in January. Weather may change this time of year we had a lot of rain one day and freezing temperatures overnight but mostly it was good camping weather. Camp hosts were awesome!!! This park is not far off i-75. Dollar general was a few miles other than that not much around. Very easy hiking trail to waterfalls and several trails along Towaliga River, ruins of an old Mill. There is no swimming in falls or river. Afterr rain falls were flowing very fast. This park also has a swimming pool, mini golf, yurts, boat rentals all were closed in January. Bathhouses were well maintained and had laundry facilities. Phone and TV reception we're good at this park. 8 days was too much here I would recommend 4 to 5 days or as a stopover point but would definitely return here.

    Big Country Camping

    Peaceful, Quiet, Large Campsites

Very nice owners. Very quiet and peaceful location. I had a full hookup site. Owners helped me get situated. Loaned me a water hose.  Felt very safe here. Beautiful sunrise. Excellent cell signal which is important since I work remotely from my camper.
