    Inland Harbor RV Park

I Know We’re Inland, But Where’s the Harbor@ Inland Harbor?!

Conveniently located at exit 49 just off I95 right near Darien, Inland Harbor will impress you on a few fronts besides the immediacy of on / off access to this major highway artery. This is a gated RV resort, so the place gets extra points for its extreme level of security (and being right next to a major highway, this isn’t a bad thing).

The grounds themselves are very well groomed and organized. The management (which is new, mind you) has a hands-free check-in approach that at first seems weird (go to your spot and pick up the packet), but then you get it – they’re just being extra cautious and mindful because of Covid.

With more or less 40-50 RV parking spaces, Inland Harbor sets up on a high bluff overlooking the scenic Altamaha River Basin adjacent to Cathead Creek. This place boasts great Southern hospitality (and delivers), full-service laundry and some of the cleanest bathrooms and showers I’ve come across in all of Georgia. I will add that Shane and April, the resident managers, are wonderful and incredibly friendly and accommodating.

There’s a solid amount of historic places nearby to check-out on top of the golden Georgia beaches you’ll find on St. Simmons and Jeckyll Islands and plenty of fishing and golf in any direction.

From an amenities standpoint, this park offers all the standards– 50/ 30 amp electrical, water and sewage hook-ups. There’s cable and WiFi. Each site has a paved platform/ drive complete with picnic table and running water. Inland Harbor is pet-friendly, so bring your furry buds! There’s even a new pavilion with both heat and A/C. On top of everything, there’s a Waffle House literally located right across the street! Could life get any better?!

    Happy Camping!

    Pecan Park RV Resort

    Gridlike RV Highway Pitstop

This is a state-of-the-art RV destination, easily accessed by exiting I-95 and driving westward for less than a minute. Located just due north of Jacksonville, you'll be able to easily spot Pecan Park just as you exit all of the busy traffic(as you head northerly) and city mayhem to Florida's largest city. What this RV parking lot lacks in terms of personality, sense of community and absence of unmanicured natural surroundings makes up for in terms of ease of accessibility from the country's busiest east coast highways and brand spanking newness. While not a destination IMHO, this gigantic concrete paved, diagonally slanted RV parking lot might be a good place to layover as you are traveling to your ultimate destination.

The office, grounds, recreation area(s), laundry room, restrooms / shower facilities and adjoining pool are all fairly brand new and very well kept. The pet-friendly RV park itself is incredibly organized in single-lined fashioned with 1-way directions keeping the flow orderly. There’s decent space between slots for both parking and makeshift outdoor living with plenty of room to roll-out the shade from your RV home from the perfectly poured and 100% level concrete pad you will be parked on. While there’s not a lot of attractions around the park, its proximity to I-95 makes this very attractive for a single night layover. And if you've got your fishing pole and looking for a little distraction, there is a nearby lake, albeit small, for some interesting catch & release fishing. Other amenities include: picnic tables, stone-encased fire rings, full hook-ups (20 / 30 / 50 amp electric, water and sewage), back-in and pull-through slots to chose from, WiFi, LP gas, horseshoe pit and on-site storage.

Insider's tips? Here's a few: (1) As this is not a destination location, I would recommend you get in late and leave early in order to make the most of your time enjoying the location you are really traveling towards; (2) If you are planning on staying here at Pecan Park for any length of time and want to explore some of the great natural surroundings around Jacksonville, I highly recommend checking out the following (all of which are less than 20 minutes from this RV parking lot): Amelia Island SP, Big Talbot Island SP, Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve SP, Little Talbot Island SP; (3) Should you want to explore some great local Florida beaches, head on over to Atlantic Beach which is the northernmost beach in Jacksonville otherwise, you can hit up Huguenot Memorial Park, which has some pretty cool beach access due north of Atlantic Beach over near Mayport where you can see his might Naval installation; (4) Should you need to load up on supplies or groceries while at Pecan Park, if you head due east on Pecan Park Road and south on Main Street, you'll find a Publix in the Duval Station Center; and (5) While you are sitting next to I95, there's actually not much there apart from Love's Travel Stop, but if you head south and get off on the very next exit, you'll hit the comfort food jackpot that includes: Chili's, Chick-Fil-A, Cracker Barrel, Salsas, Olive Garden, BJ's, Mellow Mushroom, Carraba's, Starbucks, Moe's Southwestern, Longhorn, Ruby Tuesday, 5 Guys (and the list goes on).

    Happy Camping!

    Coastal GA RV Resort

    Multi Family Meet Up

My mom booked a spot here for Nov-Feb and me, my husband and son (7) joined her on multiple occasions. She has a fifth wheel, we have a toterhome. The park welcomed and accommodated both well. The location is not fancy, but the park has adequate and clean facilities including; 3 bath houses, 3 laundry facilities, a dog park, clubhouse & pool. The park is conveniently located just minutes away from I-95, and is the perfect place for day adventures. We have taken day trips to; St Simon, Jekyll Island, Savannah, St Augustine, St Mary’s and Cumberland to name a few. There’s a Starbucks, Grocery, Dollar General, Auto Parts and many food options just around the corner. The store here carries a variety of RV and camping supplies and has a propane refill, as well. The staff here is very nice. The only notable missing amenities are a playground and no streaming on the park’s WiFi so make sure you have your own WiFi solution before you arrive. Our phone hotspots worked for tablets and laptop, but we had to get a T-Mobile portable WiFi for streaming. This park does not cater to small children per se, but has been a nice and super safe spot for multiple rigs and multiple families camping together. They even made sure to put us right across from mom each time we visited. All in all it’s a great place to spend a night or a few months. The Georgia coast is absolutely stunning and the people and food here are amazing! 10 out of 10 recommend adventuring in this area!

    Kelly's Countryside RV Park

    Clean and level, very safe

Northwest of Jacksonville, FL, not far from the Jacksonville Airport. Excellent cell service, both Sprint and Verizon - great for using a hotspot for internet/streaming. Park Wifi is too weak for streaming. Clean laundry room that uses quarters. Full hook ups with 50 amp service. Level sites on grass. Many residents and some snowbirds, plus short stayers and overnighters. We stayed a week unexpectedly after a city park reservation was found to be both unsuitable and undesirable. Gracious office staff and a quiet park. Go north on the highway it's on about 5 miles to a nice Winn-Dixie grocery store near Hilliard.

    Happy Campers RV Park

    Quite, close to Ft. Stewart

Stayed there for 4 nights while bow hunting Ft. Stewart. It's only 15 minutes to the front gate. While we were there it seemed like a pretty quite place, even  on the weekend. Spaces are pretty close to each other and most of the park is permanent buildings which appear to be for long term residences.

We were not around during the day but at night it was plenty quite. No fire pit but we did have a picnic table. Parking was on a concrete pad next to the RV.

Cell signal was good on T-Mobile. I recorded download speeds of 57 Mbps and uploads of 1.79 Mbps.

All and all I'd stay there again the lady I spoke with to make the reservation was quite helpful and emailed a copy of the campground map with directions. We used Passport America so our rate was $24.50 per night. I'd stay there again and likely will on our next hunt.

    Blythe Island Regional Park

    Awesome place for families

Great little campground with full hook-ups, 30 amp & 50 amps sites, back in & pull through sites. Lots of wildlife everywhere and domestic rabbits all over the campground that they raise at the campground for the kids to feed & enjoy. It's very quiet, lots of trees and plenty of distance between sites. There's 3 bath house but the showers kind of suck but they have hot water and fairly clean

    Jekyll Island Campground

    Great location and friendly staff

This park is fantastic, it’s in a great location, friendly and helpful staff, good size camp sites, and decent facilities. This was our first trip in our new to us Airstream. We stayed from Dec 22 - 27. We had plenty of room on our site (F-3) with a 30ft Airstream. Each site has an aluminum picnic table and fire ring on it. The park is pet friendly and a good bit of folks have their pets with them. Our site had full hook ups (sewer, 50 amp, 30 amp) others may vary. The staff is very helpful, when you arrive they great you and take your right to your spot. There is a general store at the camp ground that has the essentials and little more if you forget something. They sell firewood and ice up at the front. The store does close early so if you need something make sure to go before 5. You can still get firewood and ice after 5pm. The public showers and bathrooms were clean but not the most updated. They will do in a pinch!

You are a short bike ride or walk to away to driftwood beach which is stunning all times of the day but has some of the best views for sunrise. The entire island is filled with tons of bike trails that take you along the beach, east river, forest, and town. We stayed at Christmas which makes it extra special. During Christmas you have the tour of lights which is something to see in it self. The Jekyll Island club is also decorated for Christmas and has some seasonal activities. If you are here at Christmas make sure to stop by the club for a drink and listen to the bag piper.

    Attractions

Drift Wood Beach (free), Beach Village (free), Water Park, Put put ($7 for adults $4 for kids 6 - 12 and free for 5 and under), Mosaic Museum ($9 per adult, $7 for kids 4 - 12 and kids 3 and under are free) , Jekyll Island Club (free to walk around), Bike Rentals, Golf, Turtle Exhibit, Nature Tours, Trolly Tours, Dolphin Tours, Decent options for dining, Beach, Boating

    Jekyll Island Campground

Quite and close to the beach

I love Jekyll Island! It has a great campground and it's within walking/biking distance to the beach. I go over there as often as I can. It's family friendly and pet friendly. It's always clean and the sites are a pretty good size too. The bathouses are clean.

Guide to Brunswick

RV camping near Brunswick, Georgia provides visitors direct access to Georgia's barrier islands and coastal habitats. The area sits at low elevation, generally under 25 feet above sea level, creating a subtropical environment where Spanish moss drapes from oak trees throughout local campgrounds. Most RV sites remain open year-round with summer highs regularly exceeding 90°F and winter temperatures rarely dropping below freezing.

What to do

Beach exploration: 30 minutes to Jekyll Island. The proximity to coastal islands makes Brunswick campgrounds ideal for beach day trips. "We stayed at site 301, close to the restroom, since we were taking my 93 year old Dad with us. Walked down to the water and dock. They pick up your garbage everyday," shares Lauren W. from Coastal GA RV Resort.

Fishing opportunities: On-site at several parks. Many campgrounds feature fishing ponds or coastal access. "Lake side grassy sites, with plenty of room. Quaint with swimming and fishing. Lake side patios with fireplaces. Free fire wood for your campfires," notes Pat T. about Mcintosh Lake RV Park.

Wildlife viewing: Alligators present in ponds. Local water features often contain native wildlife. "Great pond adjacent to park (no swimming due to aligators) but lots of activity, fish, turtles, birds, etc," reports Berg B. when describing the natural amenities at Coastal GA RV Resort.

What campers like

Privacy landscaping: Natural barriers between sites. Several Brunswick area campgrounds incorporate vegetation for privacy. "All sites are pull thru's and paved. Restrooms/showers very clean. On sides of rv are bushes that give you privacy," explains Lauren W. about site layouts at Coastal GA RV Resort.

Free amenities: Unexpected perks. Some parks offer special extras not advertised. "Restrooms very clean. Nice showers. Doors locked and keyed with code. Ice machine (free!)," mentions Liz M. about Inland Harbor RV Park.

Animal interactions: Petting zoos on premises. Unique animal experiences enhance family stays. "Management was very helpful. Loved the assortment of animals they have," shares Elie D. about Walkabout Camp & RV Park, which features goats and chickens for visitors to interact with.

What you should know

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some parks. Many RV sites near Brunswick are situated close to major roadways. "Quiet, clean park. Sites aren't really big, but are separated by bushes, trees so provides some privacy...Close to stores, islands, restaurants," reports Liz M. about her experience at Coastal GA RV Resort.

Weather impacts: Seasonal rain creates muddy conditions. The coastal climate brings periodic heavy rainfall. "It had rained quite a bit for days, so it was nasty. Sites too close together for my taste. Not much shade," Karen notes about her stay at Walkabout Camp & RV Park.

Reservation requirements: Some parks offer contactless check-in. Self-service options exist at certain locations. "This was a nice small RV park, the grounds were well manicured. We had no contact check in and no contact with management at all during our entire stay. Upon arrival we grabbed our packet off the front porch and slipped our check into the door slot," explains Cynthia D. about A Big Wheel RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Recreation facilities: Pool and game areas available. Family-friendly amenities enhance stays with children. "This RV park is very easy on off from I-95. Extremely nice staff, efficient and organized. The spots are paved, clean and easy in and out," shares Berg B. about Coastal GA RV Resort's facilities.

Pet accommodations: Dedicated dog areas. Many Brunswick area RV parks welcome four-legged family members. "They are very pet friendly. We travel with a dog and they have a dog park. It's not big (for larger dogs) and it would be nicer with a different surface (stone or chips) as it had really muddy areas," advises Liz M. about pet facilities at Coastal GA RV Resort.

Space considerations: Site sizes vary considerably. Family setups require adequate room for equipment. "We needed a spot to stay on the beginning of our long travel. This RV park was really cute. We stayed at the buddy site and it was still enough room between our camper and my parents camper," shares Lorilee S. about Southern Retreat RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Site surface quality: Concrete vs. grass sites. Surface types impact leveling and weather resilience. "The sites were nice and level; all of their sites are full hookup and pull through. At the time we stopped, all the sites were grass, but they were solid even though it rained most of the day," notes Gregory L. about Walkabout Camp & RV Park.

Easy access: Quick on/off from highways. Brunswick's RV parks offer convenient interstate proximity. "Easy on off from interstate. $40 full hookup. Small park. Bath house and laundry. Simple but perfect for overnight while getting to your destination. Gated entry," explains Sandy G. about Inland Harbor RV Park.

Winter visitor considerations: Monthly rates available. Snowbirds find extended stay options throughout the region. "This is a small privately owned Campground well kept. Clean laundry bathrooms great fire pit and pleasant staff. We had stopped here three or four times over the last year or so on our way through. It's a Passport America, full hookups," shares Robert M. about his recurring visits to Walkabout Camp & RV Park.
