Little Talbot Island State Park is located near Jacksonville on one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands in Florida. The campground is nestled among ancient dunes in a lush maritime hammock of live oaks, American holly and Southern magnolias.
Each of the 36 campsites has 20- and 30-amp electricity, fresh water, fire ring and picnic table. The campground offers a laundry facility and two bathhouses with hot showers. Both restroom facilities are ADA accessible. A dump station is available at the campground exit for RV campers.
Winding tidal creeks border the western edge of the campground where a canoe/kayak launch is available along with a bait cleaning station and short dock into Myrtle Creek. Please note that Myrtle Creek is tidally dependent, and launching may be difficult at low tides when oyster beds are exposed. Bring your own equipment or visit Kayak Amelia, 1/4-mile north of the campground, for daily boat rentals or guided tours. For children, there is a playground, a campfire circle for group use and the ¾-mile Nature Loop trail that offers self-guided Hike and Seek interpretive programs. Junior Ranger activity booklets are available at the ranger station, and kids can earn badges and pins for completing a variety of activities. Kids also can participate in the park trash patrol and help collect a bag of litter in exchange for a prize. Beyond the camping area, visitors find 5 miles of undeveloped coastal beaches, a 4-mile hiking trail, and a paved path perfect for bicycling and in-line skating. Well-behaved, attended and leashed pets are welcome in our campground, on the trails and paved areas. They are not allowed on the boardwalks or beaches. Maximum RV length = 30 feet. Hammocks – day use and camping styles – are allowed in designated sites if they are hung using 1-inch-wide (minimum) tree-hugger straps from trees 6 inches in diameter or larger.

We enjoyed our stay. The facilities were clean but there were a few things that I wouldn’t mind seeing improved or changed. But none that would stop me from coming back.
The lake is fairly small they do not have a no wake rule or HP limit. So if you go out in a kayak or canoe and there is just one boat pulling a tube you should expect a rough day on the water.
Our site really could use to be refurbed with a more defined site boundary and picnic area.
Site 19 is a bit tight to back in but it’s doable.

This review is for CRSP Cottage 10, a 2 bedroom, 4 bed, 1 bath, pet friendly house down a quiet road within the park. The park staff at the gift shop were very kind and engaged. They collected our balance and $50.00 pet fee there. Not all cottages are pet friendly. Cottage 10 is...so plan ahead! Despite that, there was 0 smell when we entered the cottage. It was very clean! Exceptional view of Crooked River! Our family of four loved s’mores under the stars and twisted coastal trees. There is a jumbo picnic table and fire pit. Carrying meals out was no issue and so much less exhausting than cooking on the Coleman stove and dealing with gear and tents. That’s also a fun experience, but coming back to AC and a private bathroom after a full day of hiking Cumberland Island is worth the nightly price tag. One day it poured. We comfortably watched the storm from the cozy screened-in porch. The kitchen is well stocked, minus a cutting board. No biggie. Made do. I always travel with a reliable and sharpened kitchen knife, kitchen scissors, and my trusty cast iron pan. But I was surprised to find supplies at the cottage like paper towels, toilet paper, and dish washer pods. The beds are comfortable and the linens and towels are clean and plentiful. It was a great experience and we would love to return.

Fun campground with many organized events. Currently, most sites are full-time campers. The current transient spots are a bit tight. The owner is very active in upgrading and improving his amazing business. My husband and I stayed for two weeks. During our stay, we ate several times at the restaurant, Fish Tales. Fantastic food and great environment. Staff is friendly and treats you like part of the family. The owner and manager were quite frequently seen running food, helping staff and campers. Daily food specials, entertainment several times a week, beautiful outside seating, pool area, two dog parks, showers/bathrooms and a huge expansion project to offer many more sites. I would absolutely stay here again!

LegendCrooked River is a beautiful park! Big sites, huge pull thrus, some have FHU. Lots of walking, and biking. Sites are gravel and very level. Clean restrooms, showers, and laundry. Good size store. Has putt putt, boat ramps, and trees. Very quiet and friendly hosts. Firewood is $9 bundle, but 10 pieces. .75 cubic foot. GREAT place. Some sites have water view.
GuideMy 1st trip here did NOT disappoint! Large sites & lots of trees/shade. There are also big cottages in the back to rent. Very friendly staff & the river is beautiful. Tons of walking & golf cart trails. Paved roads & doggy stations. The sites have lots of room & a fire ring & picnic table. There are two playgrounds for people with kids & the birdwatching was incredible & I’m not even into that. Nice little store for essentials. Definitely will return.

Right across the street from the entrance to Okefenokee Swamp. Take the sunset boat ride…totally worth it! The campground has laundry for $3 per load. They offer breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, even a bar. Excellent breakfast!Charlene was very nice! Would absolutely stay here again. FYI - they do NOT offer discount for Pro Dyrt. New owners and they have been trying to get that removed but no luck. Still worth it (after all, it’s only a 10% discount).

This is a state-of-the-art RV destination, easily accessed by exiting I-95 and driving westward for less than a minute. Located just due north of Jacksonville, you'll be able to easily spot Pecan Park just as you exit all of the busy traffic(as you head northerly) and city mayhem to Florida's largest city. What this RV parking lot lacks in terms of personality, sense of community and absence of unmanicured natural surroundings makes up for in terms of ease of accessibility from the country's busiest east coast highways and brand spanking newness. While not a destination IMHO, this gigantic concrete paved, diagonally slanted RV parking lot might be a good place to layover as you are traveling to your ultimate destination.
The office, grounds, recreation area(s), laundry room, restrooms / shower facilities and adjoining pool are all fairly brand new and very well kept. The pet-friendly RV park itself is incredibly organized in single-lined fashioned with 1-way directions keeping the flow orderly. There’s decent space between slots for both parking and makeshift outdoor living with plenty of room to roll-out the shade from your RV home from the perfectly poured and 100% level concrete pad you will be parked on. While there’s not a lot of attractions around the park, its proximity to I-95 makes this very attractive for a single night layover. And if you've got your fishing pole and looking for a little distraction, there is a nearby lake, albeit small, for some interesting catch & release fishing. Other amenities include: picnic tables, stone-encased fire rings, full hook-ups (20 / 30 / 50 amp electric, water and sewage), back-in and pull-through slots to chose from, WiFi, LP gas, horseshoe pit and on-site storage.
Insider's tips? Here's a few: (1) As this is not a destination location, I would recommend you get in late and leave early in order to make the most of your time enjoying the location you are really traveling towards; (2) If you are planning on staying here at Pecan Park for any length of time and want to explore some of the great natural surroundings around Jacksonville, I highly recommend checking out the following (all of which are less than 20 minutes from this RV parking lot): Amelia Island SP, Big Talbot Island SP, Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve SP, Little Talbot Island SP; (3) Should you want to explore some great local Florida beaches, head on over to Atlantic Beach which is the northernmost beach in Jacksonville otherwise, you can hit up Huguenot Memorial Park, which has some pretty cool beach access due north of Atlantic Beach over near Mayport where you can see his might Naval installation; (4) Should you need to load up on supplies or groceries while at Pecan Park, if you head due east on Pecan Park Road and south on Main Street, you'll find a Publix in the Duval Station Center; and (5) While you are sitting next to I95, there's actually not much there apart from Love's Travel Stop, but if you head south and get off on the very next exit, you'll hit the comfort food jackpot that includes: Chili's, Chick-Fil-A, Cracker Barrel, Salsas, Olive Garden, BJ's, Mellow Mushroom, Carraba's, Starbucks, Moe's Southwestern, Longhorn, Ruby Tuesday, 5 Guys (and the list goes on).

ScoutStayed at this campground a few years ago and it was okay. Recently stopped and spent a night on the way south. Definitely had some changes made since I stayed last. New bathrooms, laundry rooms, and upgraded amenities. Will be staying again next year.
RangerWe stayed here for a week on spring break. It was a very nice campground with well kept sites. We were close to the front pool area. There was a small pond area near our site that people could fish in. The park has been expanded and many of the amenities are now located closer to the new section which made it inconvenient to get to without driving over in the truck unless you have a golf cart. There was a tennis court on that side as well as another pool and recreation room but we did not use those. There was a laundry area on our side which we used and was nice. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The campground is very close to the air port so there were planes flying over all the time but it wasn’t bad. I was worried about not being able to sleep but had no issues.
RangerWent for a quick beach trip. When we arrived and went into the entrance side of the drive we were met with signs saying for RVs to go left and workers to go right. The entrance was a parking lot for the restaurant in front and there was a sign saying RVs were not to go past a certain point (not to go right in front of the restaurant basically) and to follow yellow arrows to the sites. The problem was we were pulli mg a 40 ft travel trailer and had to turn into an parking lot full of cars in both sides with barely enough room to actually make the turn without hitting the cars. We had to stop and get out to evaluate our ability to actually get through. My husband made it but had to back up and reposition in order to get through. The rest of the roads were very narrow as well and the other RVs were very close to the road on both sides due to the small size of the sites. When leaving we were unable to actually turn our trailer to actually go the correct way out of the park (and we weren’t the only ones unable to do so). The sites need more gravel and there needs to actually be a clear area to actually have a seating area. Additionally this campground appears to have a large amount of full timers/locals who reside there. The bath house and laundry were nice. We did enjoy the pool and my kids enjoyed playing on the swing set. It was convenient to have an on-site restaurant. There was a designated dog park but it was in a low lying area which was very wet and muddy so we didn’t use it. The pluses for this campground did not make up for the limitations of site size and maneuverability in my opinion. We have stayed at both Blythe Island Campground and Coastal Georgia RV park which are nearby and would prefer either of those over this one.

We have always loved staying here and have never had a problem and everything was good this time except for the bathhouse. The whole time we stayed it was not cleaned up at all. I raved to my friends that it was a nice clean bathhouse and was embarrassed at the condition it was kept during my stay.

TravelerI spent two nights here tenting it with my dog and had a lovely stay. It’s very buggy in the wooded camping area so bring your big spray, but the sites were spacious and clean. Water and electric at each site a big plus. Beach isn’t dog friendly but if you go 15 minutes north there’s a great dog beach for those traveling with pups! I’d absolutely come back here again.
TravelerThis is our 2nd time in Jax. We stayed at flamingo lake last time and it was OK, pecan park is a million times better. All asphalt and cement, clean, well maintained with good amenities. No lake like flamingo, but that's OK, because at flamingo, when it rained it was so muddy because the sites were all just grass and dirt. Pecan is one exit from the airport, so expect alot of plane noises and flyover by the airforce. Wifi pretty good. Lots of activities like pot lucks, food trucks and cocktail hours. No riff rafff here like at flamingo. Way too much rowdiness and drunker over there. Quiet here. Mainly working couples and families with young children.

The volunteers and staff were friendly. Bugs were not too bad and they sell a natural repellant that really works. Other campers were friendly, but not intrusive. Dogs every where, but everyone picked up. Bathrooms were cool and clean. Enjoyed walking about the park; saw tortoises, armadillos, snapping turtle, and alligator.
