Great State Park Camping in Coastal GA!

A great state park campground between Savannah and Tybee. We car camped with a tent, site was nice and level on sand. Big trees with Spanish moss all around. The bathrooms were big and clean. The park itself is well kept, with great kayaking. Very convenient to Savannah and Tybee both. We also went…

One of our favorites

We have camped here twice now and absolutely love it here. Huge shady sites in beautiful Georgia Marshlands. Very close to downtown Savannah and Tybee Island. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful

Looks like a five star resort. We were passing through so only stayed one night. I plan on coming back next year and staying longer. We had a gravel spot by the pool. The gravel was compacted. However, it was convex (curving) in the middle. We had a hard time leveling and had to readjust more…

Great Trip

First time camping at Hunting Island! I have come to this beach my whole life but the camping was so fun. Our site had no shade, but we were right at the beach, and the store and bath houses were right in front and behind me. Our site had a huge yard. Plenty of room between us and the neighbors.…

Unexpectedly Great

There is a separate loop for tenters, which is always 👍🏻👍🏻!

The weekend I was here, everything was nice and mellow, with only about 70% of the tent campsites taken.

The evenings/ nights are really filled with wildlife activity: deer, raccoons, armadillo.

I would highly suggest renting a…

Getting away

I would definitely recommend this place! Everyone here is so nice. We weren’t going to make it in time to check in, so we called ahead and the girl on the phone helped us out and told us they would leave our registration on the window at the visitor center. The camp host was so helpful and nice!…

Hilton Head Island SWEET spot

This is a great location on HHI. The sites are level, landscaped and private. There are full hook ups including WiFi and cable. We liked it so much we stayed for an extra week. There are water views from some sites. It is very pet friendly. There are 2 pools and a tennis court. One of the best…

Beautiful setting with Creek

This is a lovely little campground with lots of shade and a gurgling creek. They have nice tent sites and all the way up to fitting our 43’ fifth wheel. Our site backed up to the creek, which we really enjoyed. The pool was out of commission - just saying in case important to anyone else.

Tropical Getaway

We were welcomed into the camp by a very kind lady who was knowledgeable on all the adventures we could take from the campsite. The camp sites were very clean and pretty hidden away, we could hardly even see our neighbors from the site. My only problem was that there were no sewers on site, but…

They have it all!

This is a great, quiet destination near Savannah with a gated entrance. This is a newer camp so the trees do not yet provide much shade. The is the only negative I can write. The camp is quite large with roomy sites, some on the lake and some not. There is a store, fitness center, business center,…

Beautiful and serene

As far as state campgrounds go, this is a beautiful one. Quiet and the river backing up to it. Not launches, kayaks and canoe rentals, the even offer life jackets for you to borrow right at the lunch site. The deer walked right up to the camp sites. Plenty of shade and peaceful just to rest and…
