Good Location

Great location for area activities, nice pretty green grass for dogs, bathroom and showers are clean but definitely need an over haul. Positive and negatives are livestock are cute walking around, down sides are poop paddies every where gets annoying.

Awesome staff, goats and donkeys milling about, and easy access to the great outdoors.

Favorite KOA

Within minutes from Hartman’s Rocks and one of the only KOAs that has so much grass. We rented a cabin, no refrigerator or AC, and it was perfect for a fall trip. The colors of the Aspen made the entire area golden. Cabins are slightly close together. Would definitely tent camp and enjoy the grass and fire pits next visit.

Great place to stay

This camp site is amazing. It had every thing I needed. It also had the cleanest bathrooms that I have seen so far in my travels. You can tell that they really care about their campground. I would defiantly recommend this spot.

Well maintained and you get to pet farm animals!!

Easy access from US 50 and located at the west end of town.

The Staff is very friendly and professional. The campground is very well maintained. They have farm animals that wander the property and are very friendly - donkey, goats, a BIG bull in his barn. Fun. Your site is on grass and easy access.

Consistent KOA Experience

You know what you’re getting when you stay at a KOA and this campground is no different. I’ve been to other KOAs with nicer restroom/shower facilities but this will provide what you need. They also have a little pen with donkeys and goats at the front entrance which my dog loved and was fun to arrive to!

Big and grassy

We arrived an hour before the allowed check in time and were told our site wasn’t ready. An hour later we returned and given a site in a grassy area that was completely empty an hour before. I understand there needs to be check-in rules but still annoying.

The CG is not in the best location right next to the municipal airport but makes up for it with lush green grass throughout and an open feel.

The highlight of the stay was our visit by the resident goats– only two of the three like cauliflower. There’s also donkeys in a corral that get constant attention from guests.

RV camping

Nice if you want a koa experience.  However not enough shade for RV'S without full hookups.

Great campground

This KOA lives up to the standards set by KOA. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean showers and bathrooms. Nice grassy sites that come complete with a cow who is as cute as can be!! Would definitely recommend and when we are back that way will stay there again.

Great KOA campground

The spots are a little tight for the tents so I felt like I was right next to the neighbors. The highest was also right next to it so you could hear the cars go by all night. Great besides that.

Beautiful Setting and Family Friendly

The Gunnison KOA is in a beautiful setting with large trees that is about 75 yards from the river. The spaces are generously sized, although the camping sites could use power outlets. They are very kid and pet friendly; and have a dog park. There is a friendly donkey who roams the grounds, so make sure your 4 legged friends are okay around bigger animals. The bathrooms are clean and functional. The same could not be said for the dishwashing station that is outdoors. It is in horrible condition, including a dripping faucet. Also, be aware that you are very close to the river and there is a mosquito and moisture problem. Even with these minor problems, this is still a great place to stay.
