Love it!

Had a wonderful time with the kids and our two doggos here! Great dog park, family friendly and the hot springs was just perfect for all of us. Even have 3 temperatures so the kids can enjoy hot springs too! Thanks for a wonderful stay! We’re here last week of March 2024.

Good value campground

This campground is in a great location between Joshua Tree and Palm Springs. The site was large and we had no one around us, though there is no privacy. The sites were very dusty, with little to no gravel. The best thing about the place (besides the location) were the natural hot springs hot tubs—three of them! For the price, this place cannot be beat!

Basic koa but w/pool & hot springs

Good place for one night. Your basic giant dusty parking lot KOA. spaces close together with very little shade. VERY HOT in mid October. But the pool is great, and there are three hot pools—different temperatures drawn from different depths of a natural hot spring. That makes it worth the price. NnThere is a laundromat

Fun for the family!

We took a break from dry camping to stop here and recharge. Easy spots and not as large as some KOA (which was good). Private hot showers that you accessed with a free code. The wifi was pretty good too. There was a 9 hole mini golf and playground for the kids too. Great views of the mountains.

Value for the area

Near and clean campground with clean restrooms requiring a key code to enter. Two laundry rooms. One large pool and three spas (hot tubs to folks not from So Cal) all heated with naturally heated mineral water. Secure. Park staff drive around at night to keep an eye on things. Most camps are close to the neighbors but most folks are quiet. Pay extra foe larger or premium campsites. Play area for the kids by the office. Put-put golf. Not much shade but many hedges. Gravel parking. Separate are for tents, communal sinks. Few trees around. Each camp has a sturdy picnic table. Propane fires only. And probably the same for BBQs. Great AT&T 5G cellular. Wi-Fi is weak, but it’s free.RV spot had fill hookups (water, 30 or 50 amp power, sewer, but no cable TV.

Well run and friendly, responsive staff. Understand that Desert Hot Springs is sometimes WINDY!! And that can mean dust storms, but that goes for the entire Cochella Valley. Not close to anything out here. A convenience store about 1/3 mile away. You won’t be running for coffee here. The the management sometimes hosts events and a weekend breakfast can be purchased.

All rigs are in good repair and I’ve seen nothing sketchy here at all. Been here 3 weeks with 3 more to go.

Bottom line: I would definitely stay here again, but it is a drive to get into DHS or Palm Springs. And it is windy/dusty.

Good plain camping

Just a huge lot with lots of spaces! We got put waaaay in the back away from everything, but the whole place wasn't very busy!

Good for an overnight stay

Was a clean place to stay overnight, wouldn’t go back in case we would visit the area. Luckily there were many open campsites, so we had open space next to it. The spaces are tiny.

GREAT Place but kinda pricey.

Tent sites were massive, basically could be used for RV as well. Everything on the grounds were nice and as expected with KOA quality but the price is a bit much for tent camping.

Comfortable although a little crowded

Nice facility. Takes all types of campers. Plenty of stuff to do behind the walls, mini golf, dog kamp, pool, hot tubs, games, game room... Nice shower house and bathrooms. Camp store is a little small but has the essentials. Nice to be escorted to the camp site. No fires except propane. Winds are always too high. High winds made for comfortable time outside.

Needs a little work

Overall- convenient and clean place to stay if looking for a place to stay in Southern CA and want to head into Joshua Tree, The Living Desert Zoo or check out anything else in the area. The sites themselves are easy to navigate into. Nice wide streets. Some fun things on site like miniature golf and bike rentals and the pool area is a relatively nice size (we just checked it out - didn’t end up using it).

Where it is lacking and needs some work:

  • Sites are not level.

*Our dump hookup ended up being uphill so one has to milk the house to empty (our neighbors had the same situation.) *The entrance into the KOA - if coming in and making a right - be careful as you essentially end up making a U-turn around a rock wall and into the park. Just a funky entrance.

Would give it 3.5 Stars. 👍

Give me a break!!!

KOA campground with very very clean it was pretty empty when we stayed at the KOA . the staff being a little bit rude to a family that had travel to stay in the cabin it was a family of six in the cabin of 4 kick them out without giving them any break felt bad for them.

Not all KOAs are created equal

Remember KOAS are independently owned and operated..DID NOT care for this location..old park...many dysfunctional sewer connections.. management didn't provide a viable solution for connection. I had to buy one to make it work.. bathrooms were dated and smelled funky.
