Good, clean campground with uncomplicated late night checking

Had no problem booking it on the internet but the phone numbers provided (especially the one regarding the late check in) kept you either asking to leave a message (that was never acted upon / returned with a call) or it simply just hung up on the caller. Otherwise water, electricity and shower /toilets were accessible easily (albeit with a code). Getting hot in the summer here, make sure A/C is working well. Nice little playground for kids, including a minigolf course.

Not the best for big rigs

The pros: elite sites are nice with two concrete pads and turf. You park on gravel, but the rest is nice. The people are friendly, but the front desk could be friendlier. They also have two nice dog parks. The sunset view is lovely. All streets are paved. The cons: this area can get VERY windy. So windy, that we closed our slides on two, occasions during our two weeks stay. The sites are also close together. We wanted to to spend a lot of time in Palm Springs and found the distance too far. There is really nothing in Desert Hot Springs except a burger joint and a small breakfast cafe. The biggest problem with this place is the exit area. There is a huge dip in the road. We scraped a bit (45’ MH) and I saw many other TTS and 5th wheels scrape bottom. This needs to be fixed.

55+ Community Mixed with tiny homes and RV’rs

Lots of folks who live there full time mixed with snow birds or full timers/vacationers. Wind is a challenge. Very little vegetation to block wind. Lots of places for sale. Pools and spas are nice. Downside for me is they don’t open until 8AM in the morning. Since I work while traveling and because of COVID, Preference is start each day with early AM Soak in the mineral spring water.

30 minutes to Palm Springs is a bonus.

Active 55+ park

This park looks nice, we were unable to say due to age restrictions. Park is a 55+ park. Park looks nice and has golf. They have a sister park down the road called Sky Valley and I would recommend that park if under age 55. Staff are very friendly. They also have a farmers market weekly. Lots of exploring within an hours drive if you are into sight seeing like Palm Springs, architecture, arts, nature, history and man made disasters like the Salton sea. If you are looking for a place in the area and over 55 check it out.
