Catalina Spa RV Resort

Growing up my family went on a few camping trips; mostly to Arizona to visit the ghost towns but when we wanted to go take a weekend trip and didn't want to leave state we would stay at the Catalina Spa Rv Resort in town. I remember my brother and I having so much fun running around or riding our bikes through the many turnaround streets at this park. They have an awesome pool and jacuzzis to use and a very large pond that all year round has ducks, birds, frogs, fish and turtles to look at. They have a friendly staff and the travelers were always very sweet and kind. The only town fall was that usually there isn't very many kids there, mostly older people come here to stay. They have. Gym and a game room. Lots of shade in rv parking areas and small bbq and tables to enjoy. Definitely worth checking it out !

Adequate & ok for an overnight stop

Not a very attractive drive in. Lots and lots of trash in the shrubbery and fields along the highway. Reservation and check in was easy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The RV park itself is attractive and seems to be fairly well maintained. It seems there are two rv areas. A lower older area and an upper newer and more attractive area. We were in the older area. Site was gravel with a small concrete area. Unfortunately, no one there seems to care about the dog poop everywhere (not exaggerating!). We and the people behind us parking had to clean dog poop off our site before we could set up. When walking our dog we saw poop everywhere. Dog park was ok, but on the small side and would be better with a gravel base instead of the dirt (very, very dusty and results in a dirty, dusty dog). There is a huge field adjacent and owned by the rv park that you can walk and or run your dog. But also full of poop. Bathroom smaller, older in the lower area. Much nicer, more modern bathrooms in the newer area. Two laundry rooms but no front loaders and the older laundry room only had two washers and two dryers. Can use quarters or an app. Pool and spa seemed pretty popular but we didn’t use. Area could really use some lighting at night. Very dark with minimal lighting in the older section. Trash is picked up every morning if you leave outside your site.

Sitecan’t remember - older section, third row

Drive around to pick your site

Resort is is located in some pretty rough looking desert - lots of trash. But the views of the mountains from inside the park are really spectacular. Nice new tar roads and wide. Sites really vary in size and quality. All are tight with your neighbors except end sites. Pool area are nice but the one near us was getting repairs to heating and jets when we were there. Trash pick up is really a nice perk. Two laundry rooms is awesome too. A lot to do with beautiful pickle ball courts put-put course and shuffleboard. Staff and guests are super friendly! Place is also super dog friendly. Although noted people were not picking up their dogs poop in nearby vacant lot.

Probably the best spot near Palm Springs for rvs and is a true resort.

Sets the bar for a campsite

We've been here for about 4 weeks and are going to store our rig and car here for a month before returning for another 3 weeks in Jan-Feb. Staff is outstanding. We've enjoyed learning and playing pickleball. The pools are warm and well maintained. The sites are spaced moderately with easy access to hookups and shrubbery between each site. We have a 39ft DP towing a car, and both fit nicely. The roads in front of each site are newly paved with a small apron on each. The remainder of the site is sand and fairly level. No age limit and dog friendly, and still nice and quiet. Very easy to meet new friends with an informal happy hour saturday late afternoon (byob), and we enjoyed a great Thanksgiving dinner where the park supplied turkey, stuffing and gravy and participant's brought potluck for the sides 100+ people. Overall, this has been a great place to stay and we will definitely return. Monthly rate was $1100, however I think the might be going up.

The location is fairly central with Palm Springs only minutes away, wine country in Temecula about 1.5 hours and Joshua Tree Park about 45 minutes. It can be windy at times, so you need to mind your awnings. It's is warm during the day but cools at night. No wood burning firepits, but you can bring your own propane pit.

A perfect resort for a family visiting the area

We loved this resort as a family of four. We stayed three nights. The sites and bathrooms were very clean, the front staff were super friendly and accommodating. The pools were clean and warm. The kids loved the pools and spa. We enjoyed shuffle board and table tennis. A good distance from town so you have quiet nights. Reasonable price for the amenities offered. We paid $65/night with a 24’ travel trailer. We would definitely recommend and return there.

Nice place, good value for money

Great for long term RV camping with hookups. They have nice hot springs pools, decent cell signal, and reasonable prices for full hookups. Camp sites are on the small side so neighbors are close, but at least they put plants in between to give you a little privacy.

Very windy but spacious and nice...great pool

I wanted to try this area and stayed 3 nights. Very clean restroom/showers & laundry. Staff super nice and helpful. It seemed like there are a lot of permanent residents with their accumulated furniture etc...but not an issue.

Wonderful place to stay!

1st all.. The staff is great. Janette, Christina, Adrian and many others will definitely go out of their way to see if you need anything. Some of the amenities were closed due to COVID but other than that... It is a GREAT place to stay. Sites are wonderful. Some have more trees than others but those were the more premium spots. I didn't need that but it is available. If back in the area we would most definitely stay here again. Keep up the wonderful hospitality. You all are special people.

Everything you could need

We travel Fulltime and have been to countless campgrounds and RV resorts. After spending some time roughing it in Utah this place was exactly what we needed! Christina greeted us with such kindness and attention it blew us away. We loved our location of our site, right by all the awesome amenities this place has! Our kids loved the pool and we couldn’t get enough of the hot mineral spring. The bathrooms are better than I think we’ve ever had, honestly, nice modern style, super clean and hot showers with great pressure. Laundry room was clean and conveniently located. There were more amenities like horse shoes and a really nice outdoor kitchen covered patio. What more could you ask for? I am shocked at how much you get for how much you pay! Beyond a great quality value here. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a location that has easy access to Joshua tree, Palm Springs and we even took a day trip out to Oceanside. We loved our stay so much we ended up extending for a few more days. We for sure will be staying here next time we come through the area.

Windy RV Resort with Hot Springs Pools

Nice place with hot spring pools. Lots of amenities. Close to downtown Palm Springs. Only issue is it is terribly windy most of the time.

Great place to relax

We stayed for 2 and a half months and enjoyed the amenities daily. There is plenty of space for kids to play, with lawns and a little playground. 2 pools both with shower rooms and 2 separate laundry rooms. Pickleball with daily games, a small and run down mini golf course. There is also shuffle board, cornhole and horseshoes. The office has a little mailroom for packages.

It's a bit far from anything but other than that a great place to stay.

This is a family friendly mineral spring resort

Upper section is exposed to the frequent high winds. Lower section is blocked by trees and bushes which block you from your neighbors. Lower mineral pool is more adult friendly. Stay was during COVID. Used the pool in off hours. Palm Springs is 20 minutes south. Spent 2 weeks and will return.

Amazing pools

This place has a great weekly rate ($35 per night) and great amenities. We got a site across from the laundry/pool/bathroom which was also not far from the dog park. We arrived on a Tuesday, so we got to spend a few quiet days before the weekend campers showed up which was nice. This is a very family friendly resort so on the weekends there are lots of families with kids. There are lots of activities such as mini golf, pickle ball, and shuffle board, just to name a few, but the main draw is definitely the pools. They’re fueled by the hot springs, so the pool is at about 90 degrees and the hot tub a bit hotter. They also recently opened a little convenience store where you can get the necessities such as ice and whatnot. Definitely would come back here!

Nice spot, lots of amenities

This was my first time staying at one of these big RV resorts with all the bells and whistles you could possibly need from the place. The pool/spa is currently open, which is a little surprising considering pandemic restrictions so we chose to abstain. We had a nice back-in site. Sites are pretty close together but divided by tall hedges that make for good privacy. It was a little loud our first night from other campers and dogs, but the second night was much quieter. You don’t get many good views inside the RV park gates, but once you walk out there driveway and along the street you can actually get some good mountain views on clear days.

This spot is about an hour from both the west and the south entrances of Joshua Tree.

Hot Pool, ‘nuf said!

Spa in the desert We wanted to escape the rain and cold and hit the jackpot with this location. I was concerned that the pools might be closed due to COVID but both pools were open. They are fed by natural hot springs and warmer than most hot tubs. The camp ground was tidy and the sports were separated by shrubbery for privacy. They had mini golf and picket ball. The kids loved the pool. That was the main attraction. After a week of boon docking in the desert, this resort was a nice respite. The dog park was ok, dusty and small but the other campers were super nice so it was a fun way to meet people and their fur babies. The owners made it very clear that kids and families are welcome, although most campers were silver haired.

Go out of your way to stay here

Seriously. This gem is located on the outskirts of Desert Hot Springs, CA. With two hot spring-fed pools and hot tubs (one of which is massive and SO luxe), we didn’t want to leave. Like, ever. The spring leaves your skin oh so soft and rejuvenated. The entire grounds were recently renovated and it shows. Stunning landscaping, layout and amenities. State of the art fitness center, billiards room, spa-worthy bathrooms and showers. Misters above every pool deck lounger. Convenience store 10 steps from the pool. Mini golf, pickle ball, horseshoes, shuffle board, bocce ball. During busy season (oct-march I think) they have water volleyball, performances, classes, etc. what a dream! Gorgeous views of the mountains, spectacular sunsets, and all-around great vibes. Alos, lots of bunny sightings everywhere on the grounds! A pond with ducks, too. Lots of spaces, large and flat. Always clean. Everyone is so friendly. And with Good Sam Club we paid $22 a night!!!! What?! Our favorite RV Resort for the money across 15 states weve visited so far!

Only improvements I can think of: put water bowls at dog park, add speakers to pool area for spa-like music to play to enhance the soothing atmosphere, offer recylable cups at the pool in case someone has glassware (which isn’t allowed), offer lotion in the bathrooms, and add a hand sanitizer bottle in the minigolf area.
