Olema Campground

Had a late check in after scheduling in the same day, but the staff were so welcoming and helpful over the phone! The campsite is so clean you could walk around barefoot. the scenery is so beautiful with sheep, cattle, mountains and a stream surrounding/on the property. Would definitely recommend

It's a popular campground in the northern california that's relatively easy to book. We book 1-2 weeks before and still got a spot.

Lovely large meadow with scattered trees. RC/van spots are arranged in cul de sacs, tent spots on the edges of fields.

Somewhat noisy - kids, dogs, radios - but settled down by 9. Friendly vibe. Expensive at $83/nt but good showers. Wifi was slow when I stayed.

Decent backup option for the area if Samuel Taylor is booked.

We only stayed here one night. Beautiful spot in nestled in trees. ! We stayed in an RV Bay with Power Hookup. Clean toilets and bathrooms. The showers were hot and had decent water pressure.

We visited this park earlier this spring. Yes it was wet, but we didn't mind. Liked the spaces and layout so much...we are going back this fall. Plus we love that whole area.

However, DYRT got some info wrong. While there are plenty of full hookup spaces for RVs, there are no pull thru sites. Only back in for trailers and drive-in for coaches. Many tent camping spaces and RV spaces w/just water and power. The folks are friendly and helpful.

Ok, I was originally hoping for a cabin, which is included in my search, but this CG is either tent or RV only. Luckily, I also brought a tent.

I was there 2 weeks ago. It's a fairly large area and flat. Lots of space for kids to play including a play area.

Sheep roam freely in one area towards the back.

It's a great place for families. Showers are great. Includes a small shop for goodies.

I love it there. Only negative is there are only portapotties. Except for a couple that are constantly in use.

Just left here with a group of 33 3rd graders. We stayed in the meadow area. It was wet as it had just rained, but overall it was a nice place. Small store, full hookups in places (will bring our trailer back), tables, fire rings. Not much privacy but at least this weekend it was quiet (except for our group 🤣)

No privacy but spacious for a private RV park.

Arrived late Sunday but they had plenty spots open, was extremely windy and it rain in the morning. Beautiful and peaceful place for solo campers or with family.

Okay, this is a very open campground in that your neighbors are visible! However, the right time of year and there aren’t many neighbors. Grounds are mainly grass, and the neighboring bodies of water cause A LOT Of moisture to come up through the grass so beware cause it’s wet. Nonetheless, very beautiful town. There is a post office and laundry mat on-site. The reservation office is open from 9-5p, and they sell firewood!! A constant fire is highly recommended. Also, we saw fox!!!

Sites are not leveled, most do not have sewer hook up, 68$ a night, space is very small. I don’t know why this park gets high stars on review.

My site had plenty of shade, fire pit, picnic table, and water nearby. The RV area seemed a little busy but they have a seperate area for tents only that was pretty empty (my jeep is converted so they counted that as a tent). A 20 minute drive gets you to Limantour Beach, tons of sand and when I went it wasn't super populated. Makes for a good stop along the coast

Olema is our go to spot. Every year with and without grandkids. Clean and friendly staff. The store has the necessities. The kids love the playground and try their hand at shuffleboard. Close to multiple beaches.

We stay here for a few days while we dealt with some family flying in and out of San Francisco. It worked pretty well. Campground was noisy on the weekend but quiet during the week. Solid place but not a lot of charm or character.

This campground was a challenge to get to. Many windy roads (clearly not their fault). Some shady sites. Few full hook up available. Honey wagon available for non-sewer sites for $25. Clean bathrooms/showers. Dirt sites mostly level. The sites across the back of the campground are beautiful. Most have nice space between them. Great laundry room! I would book here again for a good long stay! Lots to do as it is near San Francisco, beaches, and Reyes Point. Nice “town” area too not far away.

Nice place to eat within walking distance but make reservations on a weekend. WiFi. Showers. Spots are close together but the drive here is amazing. Openings on a Saturday night.

This place was perfect for our first trip in our new rv! Good level spots, water and electricity worked great. It’s close to some very nice restaurants. Easy drives to amazing beaches. Fresh oysters about 30 min away. So much more we could have done. Definitely planning another trip to Elmo!

Very nice campground with wide open spots. Near Pt. Reyes National Seashore.  One complaint was they weed whipped the sites next to us rather then mow.  Very loud.

Very nice campsite,nice small town of point Reyes but can drive to hwy 1 north to go eat oysters or seafood,very friendly staff and neighbors...would be back again

We nestled our Sprinter between to large pine trees and took the dog for a walk. Then headed down the road for our first dinner indoors since February! It was excellent and the cocktails and desserts were excellent too. The next morning we hit the little store at Due West before our hike for coffee and pastries. The perfect little get away, close to home.

Lucky to reserve one night here for Thanksgiving. Some non reserved available when we arrived. PO, laundromat, toilets and showers. Volleyball nets and shuffleboard courts. Didn't have much time to explore. Lots of guests with dogs and kids, all pretty quiet and well behaved. Would come back. Grassy, plenty of trees and surrounding nature. Right on highway 1, but limited traffic so not noisy.

When I read reviews of this campground, we almost went elsewhere. So glad we didn't. What a lovely spot! Staff was immediately responsive when an issue came up involving a camper in a wrong site. I was impressed that they wet down the roads a couple of times per day to keep the dust down. They work hard to keep the sites neat & trimmed. We had full hook-ups @ our site. We were there Thurs through Tues. Most nights were very quiet with people retiring by dark. Fr & Sat there were a few more folks up a little later, but by 8p, the campground was dark & quiet. We will return. Great staff from desk to riding mower!

All exposed, all flat. Easy access. Store has everything you need. Wood is 10 bucks a bundle. It’s private owned so fire rings are always ok. If you don’t want to cook there are 2 restaurants next door.

If you want to explore the Point Reyes National Seashore you do not have many options.  This facility has been there a long time, and while not the best, it gives you great access.  It is mostly used for RV's some appear to be year round residents.  I am a tent camper and there are tent camping sites.  They are on a grassy area and not well defined.  Not a lot of shade for tent sites.

That being said you are at the gateway to a large fabulous national seashore.

They have great ameneities - a store, post office, hot showers.  Everything you need is there.  There is a great restuarant down the road and a church next door!

Pros: Has numerous amenities including hot (free) showers (cleaned daily), flush toilets, full hookup RV spots, laundromat, US Post office, fenced playground, dog park, drive in tent sites, and firewood for sale. Cons: expensive, sites are close and poorly defined and the after hours check in procedure doesn’t prevent overlapping.
