Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    O'Neill Regional Park

Great Tucked Away Spot in Orange County

    SITE:

This site is great if you like hiking, biking, MTB, and running. It is very clean, and the showers are free and clean as well. It's tucked back in the canyon, but you will still hear all the traffic from the road. Since it is a canyon, many loud cars and motorcycles zoom past at high speeds.

    Free dump station.

    SURROUNDING AREA

There aren't too many shops in close proximity, but there are shops down the road a few minutes away if you need supplies.

    ACTIVITIES

The campground is located next to Oneil Park, which is huge and great for bike and running. There are many hiking trails nearby in all directions. I usually ride to Caspers from the campsite or Trabruco creak up to Holy Jim.

Guide to South Pasadena

Urban RV campgrounds near South Pasadena provide convenient access to Los Angeles while maintaining essential amenities. Located within a 20-mile radius of downtown Los Angeles, these campgrounds sit at elevations ranging from 150 to 500 feet above sea level. The region's Mediterranean climate creates favorable camping conditions year-round with summer temperatures averaging 85-95°F and winter lows rarely dropping below 45°F.

What to do

Water activities at Rancho Jurupa Park: Families can enjoy fishing and swimming within the park boundaries. "There's a little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake. Playground plus lots of grassy areas," reports one Rancho Jurupa RV Park visitor. The park also features a splash pad for warmer days.

Historic district exploration: Several campgrounds offer access to local historic districts. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," notes a Rancho Jurupa camper. These markets typically operate 8am-1pm on weekends.

Family recreation amenities: Bonelli Bluffs offers multiple outdoor recreation options including hiking and biking trails. "There's good hiking and bike riding and fishing. They have a pool," mentions a Bonelli Bluffs reviewer. The park maintains over 5 miles of trails circling a central lake area.

What campers like

Proximity to attractions: Campers appreciate locations that provide easy access to regional attractions. "This seems to be one of the best places to stay with an RV to visit LA, since driving and parking and RV in LA can be challenging and parking an RV in west LA is not allowed," notes a Hollywood RV Park visitor. Many guests use rideshare services from campgrounds to visit attractions.

Security features: Many rv campgrounds near South Pasadena, California maintain security systems. "Friendly staff to check us in gates close at 10:pm your provided with a security gate code to get back in if your out late," reports one camper at Rancho Jurupa. Several parks employ overnight security personnel.

Resort-style amenities: Some parks provide unexpected amenities. "Every street is themed with murals and art everywhere! The site size depends on where you are in the park," writes a Hollywood RV Park visitor. Another camper notes the park "even have an entertainment space where they offer musical performances, plays, etc. by local artists."

What you should know

Space limitations: Many RV sites around South Pasadena have tight spacing. "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in," notes a Fairplex RV Park visitor. Measuring your total footprint including slide-outs is essential.

Urban noise considerations: Nearby transportation can create noise issues. "The park is right next to the departure/arrival runway for Burbank and so if you don't fancy airplanes, you may not appreciate the noise," explains a Hollywood RV Park visitor. Several parks experience similar transportation noise from highways or rail lines.

Variable site quality: Within the same campground, site quality can differ significantly. "The tent sites are very small with a picnic table and AstroTurf. There was only just enough space for my REI Hobitat 6 and VERY close to the neighboring tent site and bathrooms," reports a camper at Anaheim Harbor RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Water park access: Several parks offer splash pads or water features. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," notes a visitor to Rancho Jurupa Park. The water facilities typically operate between 10am-6pm during summer months, with reduced hours in shoulder seasons.

Playground availability: Look for campgrounds with dedicated play areas. "Beautiful views all around Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky. Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons. Water park and mini golf for kids," shares a Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon camper. Many parks maintain basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and other recreation facilities.

Bathroom accessibility: When traveling with children, bathroom proximity matters. "Bathrooms and hot showers with laundry on location. Good amount of space between sites," writes an Anaheim Harbor RV Park visitor. Some facilities have security codes for bathroom access that change periodically.

Tips from RVers

Specialized parking arrangements: Some parks use unique parking systems. "This isn't a self-park park...the spaces are so close together that they use a cart to park you," explains a Hollywood RV Park camper. Another visitor notes: "Steve the owner is amazing and the team will take your rig on a forklift to your site and fully set you up."

Full hookup availability: Many campsites around South Pasadena provide complete RV connections. "There are some great kid friendly activities. Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up. Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups," writes a Bonelli Bluffs visitor describing the hookup convenience. Most parks offer 30/50 amp electrical service.

Site surface variations: RV campgrounds in this region feature different pad surfaces. "The spots are groomed and clean when you come in," notes a reviewer at Golden Shore RV Resort. Sites range from packed dirt to concrete pads, with some parks offering premium sites with artificial turf areas.
