A peaceful lush family getaway

Clean air, serenading sounds of birds and winds blowing through the green brush and tall beautiful trees. Silverwood Lake was just that. Lush green mountains in the back drop that surrounded every view you turned to take in. "You need to recharge your batteries!" Those were the words my wife told…

  • Found a beautiful picnic area surrounded by tall trees.
  • Take a deep breath, and chill 😌
  • That trailer probably has an amazing view from the inside.

Weekend getaway

This is my go to spot for a random day when I want to go camping! My weekend getaway. There’s almost always a site available, there hiking trails nearby, the restrooms are decently clean except on major holidays, the lake is a nice 15 min walk down some stairs, there’s a convince store across the…

Worth your bucklist!

Super fun place to visit with the hot springs trail. Went in January with snowfall, hardly any campers and nature all around! Two nights are perfect.

First time we were treated like trash but

Came back in RV and got treated different first time we were in tents. Ranger totally reporemend an employee right in front of us very unprofessional and rude. As for our next few times were completely different. Had a blast the ducks were kind of snooty no fault of the park, lol but we still…

Nice high desert oasis

Really nice, large campsites. Full hookups, no Wi-Fi at the RV campsite, The cell service was good and my hot spot provided 4G internet. The only negative is the fact the lake is not visible from any of the RV sites.

This is free??

How awesome! Covered picnic tables. Nice big fire pits with grate for cooking. Playground, trails and boulders to climb. Nice stop between Joshua Tree and Sequoia. And it's FREE! Well, for now anyway. I showed up late at night and was the only camper but all the others' trash was left behind.…

Free camping in the San Bernardino mtns

I got the very first spot. It’s a bit of a drive but very scenic and should be doable in any car. My campsite was big and spacious and looked up at an outcropping of rocks. It had a makeshift fire pit and picnic table. Spots are easy to see because of the yellow signs. Weather is definitely colder…

Full timers

Park is full of full time campers. Lots of clutter and unsightly sites of makeshift roofs and enclosures. I drove thru to check it out and will not be staying. Might be a great place to live, but not for camping purposes.

Beautiful Campgrounds

We stayed 3 nights in early May and just loved it. Weekends it looks pretty packed but we were lucky to start mid week. Staff is extremely friendly and facilities were the cleanest I’ve ever seen! Campsite was fairly large but we had a spot that wasn’t so private. Site 28. Must bring your bikes as…

Don’t waste your time and money

This place totally ruined the KOA reputation. We booked for two nights at this location and then the weather forecast indicated a strong wind coming on the days we are visiting. When we arrived, it became a sand storm. Honestly, it is, because this place barely has trees and there was no pavements…

Nice last minute spot

We found this campsite while we were in big bear and called the number listed who is a representative of the state park not the campsite. She was wonderful and told us how to get there. Drive was not bad we made it in a jetta safely. They were first come first serve and came back around to check…

A place to stay if you must.

Full hookups, concrete pads, picnic tables. Many full time campers parked with junk around them. The grounds need a ton of cleanup. Not the safest feeling being in this park.

Creek Gorgeous-ness

Crossing the tiny bridge at the west end of Switzer Picinic area(park up top during the weekdays, adds half a mile), you’ll see Switzer Trail Camp. You snake up the hill(keep an eye out for those btw) and see breathtaking views from the top of the canyon, veer to the left down the hill and go…
