We recently stayed here, for the 1st time, last week. We decided to leave the travel trailer at home, and change it up! We stayed the 1st in a large teepee. It had beds for a total of six people. It was hot in the daytime, and got really cold at night, so we switched to a Glamping tent. The Glamping tent was nice! It had a very confortable queen bed, 2 lamps, a fan, a heater, a mini fridge and a microwave. It also had a futon type couch that made into a bed. Loved the Glamping tent.
Only downfall was, that the place does not enforce it quiet time rules. 10pm to 8 am. Late night loud groups, carrying on until 2 in the morning, loud obnoxious kids screaming at 6:15 in the morning...😩they have many beautiful Peafowl, and they can be loud too, but I only heard them once. The place has very nice tiled showers, with good water pressure, clean bathrooms, a big beautiful pool, but it was closed for the season.
There are fire pits throughout the 76 acre park, it was nice having a campfire, since so many places don’t allow them anymore...they have a very large jumping pillow for kiddos, my 6 year had a blast playing on it. They also have a zip line, but it was damaged in the large fire last year, and is being fixed currently. There is a stream that runs thru the property, it was fun to explore. They have a rock climbing wall, that is brought out on holiday weekends.
Lots of fun activities for kids, like crafts, making your own rocket to launch, etc. It is not the place to come, if you want a quiet, mellow place to read a book! It is busy, and loud. They do not have any laundry facilities, nor do they have a little store. The prices on everything are going up 10% on everything, next year. This means that most campsites with full hook-ups with be $ 71 a night, ( not bad ) but the large teepees will cost about $ 200 a night, and the Glamping tents, about $ 180 a night.
You can buy a KOA discount card, for just $ 30 bucks, and it gets you 10% off, each stay for a year. Valid at all KOAs in America, and some in Australia! We had a good time, and plan to go back in the summer next year. Hopefully, with our travel trailer, it will be less loud 😉

We stayed here 2 nights because it’s a Thousand Trails campground and we’re TT members. It’s in the middle of nowhere in the desert. That’s both good and bad. It’s very very close to railroad tracks and at night the loud train kept waking us up. The sites are dirt so be prepared to get lots of fine dessert dirt in the camper. They had a pool and basketball court and there are lots of tress so that’s good. Full hook ups were available to us no problems with that. We had to change our reservation last minute and the staff was good about it. If you need a place to camp around here I’d reccomenc it if you’re a TT member bc it’s free to members and what’s better than free??
GuideThis campground is close to major cities in the Los Angeles County area but when you get there you seem along way from any thing which is nice. It is a large campground with water, eletric and sewer hookups available. During the season it is pretty crowded but if you go off peak it is very nice and quiet. Stay in the back side of the park as a rail line runs in front of the front side of the park. Phone service and wifi are adequate in most parts of the camp.
GuideThere’s lots to do here and it’s just beautiful. There’s many sewer/50amp spots in several loops with pull through and backup spots. Two lodges and two pools, the family pool is huge with a cool splash pad. The cell service isn’t the greatest but it’s worth being out in the middle of nothing. The campground is very well kept, clean bathhouses and great employees. There’s a small stream running through green space near miniature golf and a river too. We really appreciated that there was lots of shady trees everywhere, a little store that was open 5 days a week in case we needed something we’d forgotten and plenty of weekend activities for kids.
ScoutVery large park for RV, cabin and tent camping. As it's listed as a "resort", we figured it would be pretty upscale. Disappointment upon our arrival. Floods have been in the area and much of the sites were closed and being cleaned?? The road closest to our site was washed away (from earlier reviews it's been months), so a long jog or drive around the perimeter to get us to the pool, laundry and hot tub…speaking of which, the pool, hot tub and laundry facilities all needed attention. You could actually see people's footprints (bottom of pool and on pool and hot tub entry steps)…that much sand, dirt, etc…I didn't venture in. When we arrived, we started driving around to find the best site for our rig. We're a 32ft class A w/20ft enclosed cargo trailer tow. So, all in all about 55ft. Well, that wasn't easy. Most of the park's electric and some sewer connections didn't exist or were "down" for repair. We have yet to actually SEE someone working on these issues. We are currently here and checked in for a two-week stay. After some boon docking prior to our arrival, we wanted all the bells and whistles the park boasted they had. Took us just over THREE HOURS to find a decent spot. Many levels to this park and most didn't have a decent WiFi (we have our own router) signal. Some sites had dumpsters blocking them from being a true "pull-thru". That left us with about two areas to choose from. It's dusty, dirty, and, really, not ready to be called a "resort"….more rustic than we'd been looking for or what website photos showed. We would not recommend this "resort" to anyone. Several folks with dogs they let simply sit outside and bark, poo, etc….strict rules against that, in most all resorts we've ever visited. Unless you plan on tenting, cabin or what have you, it's not worth it. Very disappointing! :(
LegendIt's a very hot campground close to a road and train. Sites are big. Tons of things to do for adults and children. In the summer they had a cart with breakfast and snow cones and nachos for sale in the afternoon. As with all Thousand trail sites, it's pretty decent.
ScoutCampgrounds under construction to lay new pipes and beautify grounds. Lots of campsites. Not to mention tons of God's majestic creation to see. From my favorite the Jet black Ravens, rabbits, coyotes, and interesting botany there are plenty of creatures to aww and be thankful for. Gets dusty, and a bit hot sometimes. If you are trying to conduct business or take courses online wifi is an issue and have to come out of pocket on top of membership dues and what you fork out to monthly service provider. However is close to cute old timey shopping and mystical adventure.
LegendStayed for 21 days and had a pretty good experience. My main complaint is loud music and barking dogs late at night and early in the morning. No WIFI and reception for Verizon was hit or miss.
LegendThis trip we stayed down near the welcome center instead of Lot N and the experience didn’t even seem like the same RV Park. No loud music, no barking dog, less dust, and dirt. There was however a train that ran around 3:30am every morning that was a disturbance and my Verizon cell service was nonexistent. There was WiFi for a fee which couldn’t be shared with multiple devices. Overall much better stay than my previous visit.

GuideThis is a good location to explore LA and greater LA area, 45 min to Hollywood sign. Park is a large TT resort with recently remolded lodge in 2019. Great place to stay if you are a TT member road to resort is windy and narrow but easily manageable with larger RVs. The town of Acton is small rural town with a few stores. The area appears to be a flash flood area with heavy rains. We enjoyed our stay and mainly used it as a base camp to explore/ sight see LA. Does offer all the amenities TT resort park typically offer, but it is a TT so expect something to be out of order/closed such as laundry, pool or at least one amenity, but I have come to realize that is one of the bargain trade offs of TT membership.

ScoutSo me and my family decided to go because our normal camping place turned into an RV park. When looking at the website this place seemed absolutely beautiful! But when we got there that wasn’t the case..our campsite was DISGUSTING. People left trash and cigarettes all over our campsite. Our neighbors were blasting music during all hours. We called security but they barely did anything. We went during the corona virus so many things were closed. Which I totally understand however, only one pool was open we waited hours just to swim for thirty minutes...our campsite was DISGUSTING, trash and cigarettes all over the floor. There was no WiFi even after we payed for it. The only good thing was the Saturday activities. However if you have older kids forget it! The activities are for ages 5-7 maybe! They did have a movie night the last night we were there but this place looks NOTHING like the website. My family will not be returning.
GuideThis is one of the best handicap accessible shower and restroom areas we’ve seen. The larger pool had a roll in area but I do not know if they had a wheelchair that would allow you to actually use it or if you needed your own.. The downfall is they do not assign slots so if you need a handicap accessible location it’s going to be by chance if somebody is there or not.. All of the public areas seem to be pretty compact and easy to use my electric chair on. The dog run I did not try because it was a little soft looking.They seem to be having some issues getting basic maintenance done. And had one side that was full of ants so that the power and water did not work properly.

GuideI can't deduct stars for how crowded it was during Labor Day Weekend. I think it was a treat that we were able to book on a fairly short notice for a holiday weekend. The pool is awesome and huge compared to other campgrounds. It was overly crowded this Labor Day weekend but what do you expect, right? It was hot. They had a live band, movie night, roomy campsites. It was loud and rowdy in the tent camping area but calm in the RV area. I had T-Mobile and had ZERO reception here. I have since dropped T-Mobile and got Verizon because it seems like T-Mobile reception is terrible at most campsites. We are looking forward to going back soon.

GuideI think people give this campground such negative reviews for no reason to be honest. The road in is a little windy, but it's easy to get here. The staff were all very friendly during our week stay. Just note that they are going through a lot of updates, which is a good thing for the future!
All of sections A, B, & C were packed when we arrived. Any open spaces had a red power box indicating there was no power in that spot... There were quite a few of those. If you need cell signal you can ignore these sections anyway. Move on to Section N. Full 30 Amp hookups, great cell service ( T-Mobile & Verizon ), and a great sunset view! Skip Section K... that whole section was currently closed. Sounds like they're upgrading to 50 Amp but lost permits due to COVID and have to reapply? Check with the office on any outages for Section N though. They did have to turn off the water for one day and sewer for about 4 as they are doing sewer upgrades there. My only gripe about this section is I think there is either a dog breeder or humane society to the east. Sometimes all of the dogs just go crazy! There is a train too, but we couldn't really hear it from Section N.
The facilities and pool all looked pretty clean and nice. The grounds are taken care of and there is a lot of new landscaping on the west side of the campground. This place is absolutely huge by the way. It just keeps on going when we walked the dog towards the west side. There's a huge family pool over here but it was closed for the season. You could easily have a quiet family picnic past there because we didn't see a soul.
I feel Soledad is closer to and deserves a 4-star. They ARE really working hard on upgrades and take very good care of the place! Kudos to their hard work!

ScoutThis is a great spot for quiet solitude & magnificent views & sunsets. You also get to hear the train come thru daily which really reminds me I'm in the west. Super scenic, beautiful sunsets.
TravelerThis place has a lot of sites available. If you want cell service you have to to the far back towards the top of the park for cell service for phone and streaming. You can purchase their WiFi and use WiFi phone service on your phone if you want to stay in touch with family. Pool was open but not the hot tub. Pool is also not heated. Good restrooms and showers. Bathrooms are heated for those cold days. Plenty of bathrooms around. The campground is trying to up grade and closes off some areas for improvement. Loved it there. There is a bunch of quirky places to visit like Charlie browns, they have a lot of cool stuff to buy. Also has a place to eat while there.
RangerFirst impressions weren’t great at this one but it grew on us quite a bit.
The campground is in a beautiful valley outside of LA - Acton is know as a “horse town” to many in LA and the moniker is well earned which adds to the nice mix of relative (one to two hours drive) proximity to the city with rural surroundings.
The campground itself is in rough shape but is seemingly in the midst of a rejuvenation. Many of the electric posts don’t work, litter wasn’t uncommon on the ground, sewer pipes had no cap on them (just a rock covering the open hole..), and much of the inter site landscaping has seen crisper days. That said, they seem to be doing a ton of work to turn it all around and the location, property, and the newer amenities hold promise for this to be an incredible, five star sort of resort. There’s just some clean up, renovation, and landscaping to be done first.
As others have noted, we will also mention, the $25 PER package fee for any deliveries is absurd and especially inconvenient in a town where the bigger stores are 30+ minutes away. Cash only recharge of a laundry card you have to purchase is also a bit much.
Looking forward to returning soon and to what this place could become. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay!

ScoutThis is my second stay at this RV resort. Both times I was here the Rangers would not enforce any rules and regulations. This particular stay there were two RVs with excessive dog barking from 7 AM till 10 or 11 PM every day and night.
One RV was parked right next to the restroom and they would tie their dog up to the picnic table for over 12 hours a day. Every time someone walk down the sidewalk to use the facilities, the dog with lunch and start barking at them. The manager and the other Rangers said they do not care and did not enforce anything over a three week. This was an aggressive dog that was lunging, and I’m very concerned that it will break loose invite somebody. None of the Rangers have any concern for our safety.
The second RV left two dogs and a cat alone for 12 hours a day. They left the windows open and the dogs with aggressively bark and how all day long. Again the Rangers did not care and did nothing about it. Brian, the manager, and three other Rangers witness the dogs in the window, barking aggressively, and refused to do anything about it.
My neighbor and I called over 20 times to the Rangers. I even personally met with the manager Brian. He said he would take care of it and he never did. The Ranger name by the name Sandra said that she was unwilling to do anything about enforcing the rules, and that if I didn’t like it, I should move. I informed her that I’m paying her salary/wages and I expect her to do her job. She hung up on me. She is completely useless, and should be removed from the staff.
I’m not sure why Thousand Trails system as allowing Rangers to collect their paychecks without doing their job.
I regret purchasing by thousand trails membership. If I wanted to hear dogs barking all day, I would stay at a dog boarding kennel. Beware before you visit or purchase a membership through thousand trails Soledad Canyon. Chances are you will regret it.
ScoutAn entire section of the campground(K Section) has been closed for approximately 6 years for"renovations". The employees live full-time in all the good sites. Half of the campsites in the other sections are closed because of the park's faulty electrical system. If you manage to find a site with working power then you're bombarded with the smell of raw sewage constantly coming from the park's sewer system. Not to mention all the weeds growing everywhere and the trash blowing around.
