Fort Tuthill Luke AFB Recreation Area

Water, electric 30 and 50 amps, mitary, DOD, vets, etc. Bath house and laundry, hiking trails, rent bikes, happy hour in office, free BBQ every Sat. Clean and quiet.

There are actually two campgrounds with pretty much the same name back to back. This one is the military one you must have a military ID it is a military campground.. very nice and I would highly recommend, if you qualify to camp here. To get to this one do not follow the signs to "camping" instead follow the signs to "Luke AFB Recreation Area" . If you follow the signs to camping you will get to the county campground, you do not need to be military to go to that campground.

This a great location with easy access to I-40 & I-17. They were able to accommodate us with no reservation. Clean park with lots of activities. Easy access to flagstaff.

Can be crowded and full of youngsters but close to all Flagstaff has to offer. Aim for RV spots 1-8 for best views and least crowded options.

Review for the activities only. Tons of fun stuff for the kids and adults. Bike park is a blast. Also have an adventure course and zip line. Bike park is free ropes course has fee. Also has a easy mountain bike trail around the area

Nice and quiet camp ground, hookups for water and power, had a dump station. Like everyone says it's dusty from the roads when vehicles pass your camp. Maybe they should lay down fresh gravel to keep down the dust.

It is a military camp. Lots of trees . Very clean. Little bit hard to find, behind a empty lot.

The weather was unusually warm even for mid August. We camped with a group of 4 couples, each at a different camp site which was perfect for spacing. The two families with a herd of toddlers were a bit close for comfort.

We were happy to be able to have an open fire and fire wood was available from the host for $7 a bundle. Hiking trails were nearby and the adventure course was enticing but on this trip, we stayed closer to the ground.

The military campground is great as a base for exploring the Grand Canyon as well as Sedona and the surrounding area.

Had an awesome time camping with some fellow Overlander's! Plenty of campsites with lots of trees for hammocks, and plenty of ground space for tents and cars. Nice fire rings are available, water spouts, as well as portable bathrooms right near the campsite. The campsites are surrounded by trees, but it can be windy.

My family and I stayed here in a 34’ travel trailer for one night in late July. To get to the campground, travel thru the county park and follow the signs to Luke AFB recreation area. The campground is part of a larger complex that includes a lodge, cabins, and yurts. All amenities are shared so we had access to a large playground, basketball and volleyball courts, the store, and the bathhouse. The county park itself has playgrounds, an amphitheater, bike trails, and an awesome disc golf course. At each site is a picnic table and a fire pit, with hookups for electric and water. Our site was huge, but others can be a bit tight. Adjacent to the campground is the fairgrounds, which is bordered by an unattractive chain fence. The pump-out station was backed up and unusable while we were there. I’d say the best aspects are the price and the convenience to Flagstaff which is only three miles away. We would stay again.

Nice campground if you are staying close to conveniences of Flagstaff or to watch a concert at Pepsi amphitheater. We got a group site, 5 vehicles and 6 or 7 tents. We had plenty of space! The only problem with our site was that it was situated near the fence to what looked like a 4-H event. The cows and sheep were very noisy. I'm sure if you picked a site closer to the interior of the campground it wouldn't be as noisy.

We needed a quick place to tent camp close to flagstaff, AZ and we found this campsite on the Dyrt. We tent camped for one night at a cost of 23.00$. Our site was fine, cell service was good, they only have port-a-potty’s, it they were clean, and had auto lights for night time. The campground sold out while we were there, it seems they have a lot of groups attending this camp. There is an extreme course in the same park, lots of activities. No showers, water is extra, location was great, and the host was nice and accommodating.

This place was perfect for Overland Expo West and camping. While the venue was packed, our camper was tucked under the trees and plenty activities to do.

We were here for a group event and had a great time. Sites were large and shady. Great temps. The campground is close to an event center, though, so expect noise on the weekends even after quiet hours.

The military side of this campground has studio cabins, 2 bedroom cabins, yurts, and even hotel rooms for rent in addition to tent spaces. There is a nice office with coffee and hot chocolate, a fireplace, movies to rent, and various sundries for sale. There are some great running/walking trails and even a small playground for the kids! When there is enough snow, there is a tube run that is so much fun!

Great location, 5min to Flagstaff, shares property w/high ropes course and amphitheatre. Only 3 stars because campsites are small and crowded together—hopefully you like your neighbors... Ours were loud and drunk till 1:30am even though that isnt the norm, as the rest of the camping families were quiet by 11pm. Also the bathrooms are just porta-potties, same as you’d see at concerts. We usually opt for dispersed camping with no amenities at all, so we’re not princesses by any means; however, we expected at least some kind of flush toilet and hand washing sink for this nightly price rate. So we give 3 stars to this campground all in all.

We would give negative stars if possible to our specific campsite: (D17). DO NOT STAY AT D17! In the center of the space is a giant sewer access point, a big cement well with metal manhole cover. IT STUNK! For a campground that doesn’t offer any plumbing, why did we have a giant sewer in our campsite?! So we moved our tents back into the woods, maybe 20 feet back from our “designated” area. Of course we got told by the very curt host to move our tents back up front right near the sewer. Ugh! If we had any other spots to move to we would have! RentIng this space out to folks who want a lovely weekend out in the fresh air is cheap and deceptive.

Just spent one night here but really enjoyed it. It rained on us the night before so the trails were perfect for a ride in the morning. We had a blast making our way through various single track, ultimately making a big loop. Can’t want to come back here with the bikes again! Hit me up on @campncruise if you need any info!

Looking for a camping spot close to the lava tubes, this is it! Remote and forest setting.

This was one of those places we just happened across. Stopped for a picnic, just thinking this was a park, but noticed the campground area. It was a decent campground. There is some tree cover, but it generally lacks privacy and we did not see anything for bathrooms expect pit toilets. The biking course/ramps were a nice surprise too! Lots of amphitheater events on the park schedule as well. Nice place to check out for a day or say a night or two :)
