Nice site and clean shower and bathroom. A little store to purchase items. RV Amenities. Trains nearby most of the night. Sometimes the fumes from the trains. Nice customer service at store - check-in. Nearby to town

Wanted to love it…

There are few RV parks in Flagstaff, none with stellar reviews—but this one had the best reviews.

My major issue with the site was the staff. After calling and emailing the campsite for days to extend our stay by a day and not being able to reach anyone, they booked a site without telling us or confirming with us that they could charge our card again. Because we hadn’t heard back from anyone and they hadn’t let us know they booked us a site—I booked a site for another day online, therefore we were unknowingly double booked. When I went in to talk to them they insisted that I must have double booked it myself/ come in to book with them in person. They couldn’t have made the mistake on their end. They refused to drop the cancellation fee for the site they booked without my consent. It wasn’t until I pulled up my email receipts and call log to show them that I tried like crazy to get ahold of them but couldn’t—and that I never received confirmation email that they’d booked a site for an extra day before they believe me. Even after all of that, they chastised me for trying to call and email and not come directly into the office. Ma’am, I was out hiking and enjoying my time..?!

Here are my pros:

Clean facilities Fine location Lots of trees WiFi was low but worked 70% of time Verizon was okay ATT service worked well Laundry was $2.00 a load but machines worked well

Unfortunately my cons outweigh the pros:

Price is HIGH and services/ amenities do not match. With taxes it came out to $60 a night. Only 2 showers per sex (no gender neutral option) for 70+ sites Bathrooms were backed up and smelled like sewage the entire time Laundry list of rules Up charge for literally everything (want to save the site # you book? Additional $30 charge) Sites are tight, some rigs had trouble opening their doors and not hitting the rig next door Campsite was at max capacity both nights and was cramped

Ultimately this site is way too much $ for what you get. Would not recommend.

Overall good stay

Nice tree filled campground. Bathrooms clean but showers had no shelves or benches to sit your stuff while showering. Nice camp store and coffee, wine shop. Some road noise from RT 66. No campfires allowed. Friendly office staff. 2 to 3 bars Verizon. 5 for ATT. My pull through site wasn't completely level and was a tight fit even with my small trailer.

Fantastic wooded retreat

Very clean and orderly campground, sites can vary is shape size and fitment . But most are shaded. Very nice tent areas, frequent trains but with no train horns(great background noise) . The roads in the campground are very confusing , arrive with daylight to spare and walk to you site before you try to turn down any roads. Fairly level dirt sites. WiFi is decent but a pay per service and you need browser access.

When your in a bind on road trip

This is one of those parks that mostly have RV camping & a few tent sites. There wasn't any availability at other spots since we are floating around in our little RV... the spots aren't too close together, there is shade from pine trees, bathrooms with showers & flushing toilets. Road noise & train noise (we don't mind trains). It's convenient to exploring Flagstaff. Easy hiking trail within park & small dog park.

Great campground!

We were only there for one night but the campground was clean and very well maintained. The office staff was very professional and made sure we knew exactly how to get to our reserved site. There is a restaurant on site that serves breakfast and lunch but they are closed Tuesdays so we can’t rate them since that was the day we were there. We had site 5, with full hookups and it had a small fence barrier to the roadway, which gave us some privacy from those walking or driving through the campground. The office and small store/restaurant was a very short walk away. Our site was also across the street from a small fenced doggy play yard, bathrooms and laundry facilities. We’ll definitely stay here in the future! It cost a bit more than other camp sites, but we was still glad we stayed there.

AMAZING!!

You cannot park overnight directly at the lake itself. If you look online, it says that you must be at least 1 mile away from the lake to camp overnight. But the road to get to kinnikinick lake is FULL of places to pull off and camp for free. We saw a ton of big RVs camping along that road. Any vehicle can go down this road. But you will see a sign that will say if you are within 1 mile from the lake so it’s easy to know if you are in a good spot to park and sleep over night. There were no reviews when I arrived so I was rolling the dice but this is PERFECT to camp for free in the flagstaff area. So many trees for shade and privacy and a bunch of spots to choose from going down that road.
