This campground is in tellico plains

I went to visit this campground today. So I called the number and this campground is actually in tellico plains Tennessee. There is no campground at this location. So please please do not make the trip out there.

In search of Sasquatch!!!

We went on opening weekend. So it is not completed. The sewers weren't in, the showers aren't completed and some of the sites were very unlevel. But with that being said the staff is wonderful they provided wood and ice. They also have some very very creative ideas. There are two dump stations. We…

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We made a last minute decision to visit Monte Sano when a site became available for Memorial Day weekend. The campground is fantastic! The sites are shaded, well spaced, and easy to navigate. The park has tons of hiking options and even a disc golf course! We will definitely be back.

Great older campground

Great older campground with lots of options. Cabin, RV, tent. Hiking galore. This old campground atop Mont Sano has something for everyone.

Not a lot of options near the parking lot for hammocks

The only decent spot for hammocks is the little campsite that is right in front of the parking lot. We went over to the clearing just north of the parking lot, but there were no good spots. The clearing was extremely overgrown, as was the tree line all around the clearing. At the site directly in…

Great family campground

I’m a Huntsville native and have camped here more times than I can count. Over the years they have made great updates. Facilities are always clean, you’re never far from a bath house, the roads are good, and it’s beautiful. I’m a tent camper but appreciate having water and electric hook up sites…

One of the best campgrounds in Alabama

This is an amazing place to camp and hike. Most of the other reviews cover all the wonderful amenities so I will mostly just add my photos from a trip here in the fall. Well worth a several-night stay. I personally like the tent sites but they also have paved RV spaces as well. Make sure to check…

Wonderful Views

After many recommendations, we were finally able to book a site at the Fairview (Devil’s Step) Campground at Tim’s Ford State Park. Although half of the campground was literally under water after some heavy rain, we were able to tread some 3ft deep waters to reach our site. Initially, we were…

Primitive campsites at the water

We chose a primitive site for a quieter camping night. Although the furthest away from a bathhouse, we truly enjoyed this site. It’s “pick your own” and we picked the site next to Seals hiking trail along the water. Each site has a fire pit and is mostly level. No table, so bring your own. No…

Small boring site

This site is 3 separate clearings near the trailhead and parking with small fire pits. They work in a pinch if you get here late and don’t want to hike in or if you want to car camp and hike to the falls without gear. Be aware that you will have to go a little ways down the trail to find water.

Easy access riverside site

I just got back from a weekend backpacking trip to Wall of Jericho and stayed at this site located right after coming down the hill before crossing the bridge. Although the site is a little smaller, space for 2 maybe 3 tents, it is perfect for the kind of trip we wanted. We hiked in on Friday…
