Ditto Landing City Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Boaters and anglers have a direct route to the Tennessee River from Ditto Landing City Campground, where sites sit close enough to the water that Jason S. describes it as "a short walk to the Tennessee River." The campground operates year-round under the Huntsville-Madison County Marina and Port Authority, making it one of the few spots in the region with boat-in access alongside standard drive-in sites. Rates run $19 to $22 per night.

Full hookups are available, including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station and WiFi. Sites are reported to be generally level. The wash house is located at the marina end of the property, not adjacent to the sites, so plan to walk. Daily trash pickup is provided.

Maintenance is the most consistent concern across reviews. Multiple campers have found sites unmowed, with grass deep enough to obscure hookup connections, and several sites have flooded during wet conditions. The access road can be rough. Anyone considering a stay during or after heavy rain should call ahead to confirm site conditions, since at least two reviewers checked out early due to waterlogged ground. Narrow site widths are also worth noting for larger rigs.

This campground tends to work best for boaters who want to keep their vessel close, rather than campers prioritizing manicured facilities. Those comparing options in the broader Huntsville area can browse campgrounds near Ditto Landing before booking. Reservations are available, and pets are allowed.

Cheap but not maintained

I was excited to be camping on the river near Huntsville, but this is not the place to do it. Sites are narrow, not mowed, and multiple of them were flooded bogs. I have added pictures of my site. I definitely won’t be back, I’d much rather stay at Monte Sano, it was immaculately maintained.

Nice RV for a night

Sure was level, has water, sewer, electric. They will pick up the trash daily. Wash house is on opposite end of site at the marina. Worth the daily rate

Do they ever mow?

The site is fairly level and very long but the grass is deep and we’re by water! I’m afraid there are snakes in the grass! We can’t find the water or sewer because the grass is too high! It would be a lovely place to stay if there was some maintenance! We were give an architect drawing of the campground! No trash container anywhere and there was a kitchen trash can with shoes by it at the road end of our site!👎

Not Bad

Not bad for 19$ a night. Lots are pretty well separated in a nice wooded area. Staff is friendly. A short walk to the Tennessee River.

Terrible campground

We stayed for a weekend here and it was a terrible experience. Our site was flooded all weekend. There is no sewer hookup which would be fine if the dump station worked. When I tried to get someone who worked there to look into it, I was told that that was not gonna happen that day. We ended up having to pay and dump somewhere else.
