Absolutely Beautiful!

Very well kept campground on the lake. There’s a golf course and seafood restaurant here too. The kids have loved the playground and fishing. Everyone has been so friendly and we would be weekend visitors if we weren’t 8 hours away. Definitely recommend!

Good Location but..

The location makes it easy to too access the TN River for boating, which is great. However the water next to the campground is relatively stagnant so the mosquitoes here are horrendous! As soon as we walked out of our camper they dive-bombed us! There are other campgrounds in the area that have mosquito control, Goosepond needs to offer this service.

With that said, we have no other complaints. Finding a full service campground in these parts at a relatively reasonable rate is hard and Goosepond delivers.

It’s just okay

This campground is not our favorite.  We have stopped coming here because there are so many long term campers there making the place look run down and unkempt.

Great Time!

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend so the campground was pretty full. Sites are decently sized and everyone was very nice! My only negatives were some campers had boats and they would park along our site and use it as a parking space for their boats, leaving us a view of someone’s truck and boat trailer. The bath house was decent but only had one shower.

Beautiful area, camping could be better

The Goose Pond Colony is a great area, right on Lake Guntersville, with lots to do, and beautiful scenery. If you plan to camp here, be advised that they don’t take reservations!!! I have no idea how, or why they do business this way, but that’s how it is. So you show up and hope for the best! We lucked out and got a primitive site on the lake. The primitive area is really cool, you can choose any are you like, and just go to the office and pay. The electric sites were nice and spacious, most have a lake view, and several on the water. There’s plenty of lake access for boats, kayaks, swimmers, etc, but the cove around the primitive area is not good to swim in, it’s nothing but high grass and seaweed in the water. The showers not very clean, and the bathrooms were mediocre.

Great campground for anyone wanting to visit Guntersville Lake

We stayed here because my wife was running a Triathlon on the property. It is quite a large property at that. It has a golf course as well as Marina with restaurant. The campground itself actually has a boat ramp and dock. We were a little upset when we found out they didn't take reservations. With it being Memorial Day weekend as well as the race going on we were not very confident in finding a spot. However we were able to find a spot in the primitive area right on the lake. Bathrooms were sufficient, not special but had everything you need.
