Hikers heading into the Walls of Jericho trail system can use this free backcountry site as a base for day trips, including the Mill Creek loop and the main canyon. The site sits roughly 2.7 miles from the Alabama trailhead parking lot, just before the Hurricane Creek Bridge. It accommodates a few tents and includes one fire ring. No restrooms. Water is available from Hurricane Creek but requires treatment or filtration. Cell service is weak to nonexistent with Verizon. Those exploring camping near James D.
