To find a piece of gear that sticks out at Outdoor Retailer is, quite literally, to find a needle in a haystack. The Wolverine Vortex boot is that needle.
When I go to Outdoor Retailer, I look for gear that stands out. That’s a tall order for one simple reason: there is an insane amount of gear on the show floor.
This past winter, boots were on my mind. My home town of Portland received a foot of snow — far more than any of us are used to — and I kept wondering:
