Nice quiet location with lots of trees

Campground is covered with trees keeping noice relatively low. But walk out of the trees and out to the bay and the views are endless. Definitely make sure to catch a sunset there!

Showers and Laundry

We were under the impression you had to camp in Colter Bay to use the shower but it’s $4.25 and open to the park. The campground is convenient and the view from picknic area is breath taking!

Love, Love, Love

The views here were great. This area had all the things we needed. I recommend north Jenny lake - beware though, Jenny lake gets crazy busy so perhaps try one of the other lakes. We went to String Lake for lunch and it was lovely. There are many great trails for bikes. Jackson Lake Lodge has some fabulous views out the back on its balcony.

Everything you would need

At Colter bay campground they have a laundromat, showers, grocery store, coffee stand, and gift shop. We were able to use our active military ID for a discount at the campsite. There are large number of sites and you are assigned a spot as you pull up to the gate. Lots of foliage around each campsite and a quick walk to view the Teton mountain range.

Best start to a road trip!

WE were here over Memorial Day weekend and it was amazing. The hikes, drives and campsites all were enjoyable and so convenient. We cannot wait to go back.

My favorite place ever to camp!

Such a beautiful location

Convenience

Colter Bay campground is very convenient in that it sits in the northern part of Grand Teton. In the spring especially, it will put you close to the bear action. There is a convenience store with gas pumps at the end of the road and Colter Bay village has laundry, showers, grocery store, restaurant, marina, and a small museum. The only issue I've had staying there is coming in late or after dark and having someone else take my campsite. That seems to be a common occurrence in many of the national park campgrounds. I car camp (sleep in the car) so I don't have a tent to set up. I've left lawn chairs before, but have had them stolen or ignored.

Busy over Labor Day

Entire area was packed for Labor Day weekend. Decent site; trees/shade…but little privacy. Good access to all the area sights.

Great Spot in the park

Great access to easy trails as well as a beautiful view at the marina. It is also close to the laundry and shower spot if that is needed. The visitor center is 5 minutes away too. This campsite is very centrally located and it made it easier to go to multiple trail options and did not take too long. Also has a beautiful spot for sunset!

Beautiful spot, wonderful campground

Great access to the park and trails along the lake.
