Free and permit-required, South Landing sits about a half-mile walk from the trailhead parking area, reached via a rocky beach along Jackson Lake. No pets are allowed, and all waste must be packed out. Bear boxes and fire rings are on-site, and cell service is available. Campers arrive by foot, kayak, or other watercraft, with open sightlines toward Mt. Moran across the water. Wildlife sightings, including bald eagles, moose, and bear, are reported by visitors. Those staging a broader trip into Grand Teton National Park will find this site a low-cost entry point into the backcountry.
