 Colter Bay RV Park offers 112 full-hookup pull-through and back-in sites which include sewer, water, and 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electric outlets. Each pull-through RV site has a parking space for one RV and one tow vehicle, with a maximum total length of 45 feet.\* Each back-in site has a parking space for one RV and one tow vehicle, with a maximum total length of 30 feet.\* All sites include a picnic table, access to nearby water spigots, flush toilets, and laundry and showers available for an additional fee. Propane is available for purchase. \*Site sizes vary, please check individual site specifications before booking to confirm site accommodations. ADA Access: There are 6 ADA-compliant RV sites that have been widened to accommodate wheelchairs, with accessible picnic tables and leveled sites.  Visitors can take a self-guided tour of Grand Teton via the 43-mile Scenic Loop Drive, offering an opportunity to photograph the famous landscape and local wildlife. Make sure you stop at the historic Jackson Lake Lodge for its famous huckleberry milkshakes and spectacular Teton views through 60-foot tall wall-to-wall windows. While youre there, book a scenic raft trip or park bus tour. Then, head about 30 miles south to the town of Jackson, where you can visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art just outside of town, walk under the famous giant elk antler archway in town center, attend the Jackson Hole Rodeo, browse local shops, and dine at one of the many restaurants. ## Charges & Cancellations

 Changing Reservations: There is no change fee if a visitor extends or shortens a reservation, as long as the change includes dates from the original reservation. Additionally, there is no change fee if the visitor wants to switch sites that are the same price with the same reservation dates in the same facility. If a visitor wants to switch dates that are entirely outside of the original reservation dates, there is a $10 change fee. If a reservation is made that includes dates beyond the maximum booking window, that reservation cannot be changed until 18 days have passed from the original booking date. Once a reservation date has begun, visitors cannot change a reservation using the online system or through the Call Center. Onsite staff will assist with changes or cancellations. Cancellations: Visitors may cancel their reservation prior to arrival both on-line and through the call center. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation. A visitor who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's approved rate including tax and applicable add-on. Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee. Visitors who cancel a group overnight facility reservation less than 14 days prior to arrival date will pay a $10 service fee AND forfeit the first nights rate. The Best Camping Near Moran, Wyoming

Tons of empty campsites of various sizes in this campground, on a weekday in late May.  Over 300 sites total, 22 bathrooms, everything on a first-come, first-serve basis (although you can rent the RV sites).  Didn't stay overnight, but it seems like a clean, well-run federal campground, so probably getting to sleep by 10 and being up by 6 or 7 and you've got yourself a good night's sleep.  Should be able to find a site on most nights, and well worth it due to the open feel, fresh air, lots of mini-trails and roads to explore, huge variety of campsites and sizes, lake and mountain views (sorry they didn't show up well on the video) and of course its proximity to unlimited hikes and sights in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone national parks.  

Hundreds of Campsites, Great Views of Tetons, Jackson Lake

this place is very well kept for RVs! there are also many of people who come here to ride horses, so it was fun for the kids to see so many horses!  the hiking trails were amazing, and the fishing was exceptional as well! This place was such an enjoyable get away!

Great sites here! I was guiding a large group of 24 through the park and these sites were awesome. We stayed for the last two nights here so having a store and showers close was nice for some of our guests. Also the proximity to Jackson Lake was amazing. The views unbelievable.

Great big group sites

This is a HUGE campground! There are over 300 sites (I think it’s closer to 350) right on the edge of the lake. Sites have the standard picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and tent pads. There can be a bit of a party crowd due to the lake mentality, but things quiet down quickly at night. One of the nice benefits of this campground is that there are very clean bathrooms with flush toilets and nearby is a nice shower house, general store and laundry facility. Be prepared to show up early to try and get one of these sites as it is first come first serve (no reservations when we were there), and expect a line. Location is good for checking out the Tetons.

Colter Bay Campground

Our stay was so worth it. It is in a national park so it fills up very fast if you don't call ahead. Each camp spot is $30 per night. There is an amazing lake to swim in with the breathtaking view of the Tetons and the water is very nice and refreshing. Definitely a 10/10

Breathtaking 

Every site is a pull through site. This made it very easy to set up and it was a great place to stay. Lots of options to eat and great gift shop with a great view of the mountain range. We will definitely be back someday!!

Great campground 

Colter Bay Village has a few options for setting up temporary residence: first-come, first-serve campground, reservable tent-cabins and tents, an RV park, and maybe a lodge. When arriving at Colter Bay, the campground is to the right and the cabins and tent cabins are both to the left. They are operated separately; the cabins and tent-cabins are operated by the Grand Teton Lodge Company. The tent cabins and the actual cabins each have different check-in areas (a driver will pass the cabins first and the take another left to go up the hill to the tent cabins). From the cabins, there is a short walk to Jackson lake, the village with the market, laundromat, showers, and wifi, the evening ranger talks, the boat ramps, and the visitor center. The ranger talks in the evening were really marvelous.

Before arriving, we had travelled 7,000 miles across the country, tent camping the entire way. We planned to tent camp in the Tetons too, but to our dismay, we discovered that there are no practical, reservable car-camping sites, and I wasn't willing to risk first-come, first-serve as an option (good thing, because that campground was full by 9). So we reserved a tent-cabin and looked forward to a new experience. It was so wonderful that we are going back this summer.

What is a tent-cabin? It is a structure that has two log walls and two canvas walls, a canvas roof, and a little, tiny wood stove. There is an electrical light, but I don't think there are any plugs. There is a covered picnic area outside the door and a bear box for each site, along with the picnic table and fire ring. There are four beds (two bunks on each log wall), and campers will need to bring their own everything except for the bed and tent. There are flushing toilets close by, and a dishwashing sink. We had a perimeter cabin, as seen in the video.

Colter Bay Village has restaurants, a lovely and well supplied market, a laundromat and pay showers. The laundromat/shower facility has wifi which extends out as far as the gift shop and market.

The five stars is something I reserve for only our most beloved places in this world. Why we love Colter Bay: the atmosphere is just so easy going and undemanding, the people are relaxed. The landscape is breathtaking--like the water temperature of Colter Bay. The wildlife was incredible. We saw a grizzly, and a moose with her calf, among other creatures. Maybe the presence of Colter Bay was simply a release from the tension of Yellowstone, which was beautiful, but crowded, and people seemed a little edgy after being in lines, sulphur, and the very hot sun all day. But really, I believe that Colter Bay has a truly peaceful serenity that soothes the soul and is as simple and clear as the waters of Jackson lake, and as warm and smooth as the rocks that line the shore.

The Happy Ending

Great campground with amazing amentities. They have laundry, Showers, and a very well eqiuipped convieniance store, grocery store, and supply store. Very close to both GTMP and Yellowstone(45 mins north)

They have lots of activities including Kayak/Canoe rentals, hiking, and much more.

Entire area was packed for Labor Day weekend. Decent site; trees/shade...but little privacy. Good access to all the area sights.

Busy over Labor Day

WE were here over Memorial Day weekend and it was amazing. The hikes, drives and campsites all were enjoyable and so convenient. We cannot wait to go back.

Best start to a road trip! 

At Colter bay campground they have a laundromat, showers, grocery store, coffee stand, and gift shop. We were able to use our active military ID for a discount at the campsite. There are large number of sites and you are assigned a spot as you pull up to the gate. Lots of foliage around each campsite and a quick walk to view the Teton mountain range. 

Everything you would need

We were under the impression you had to camp in Colter Bay to use the shower but it’s $4.25 and open to the park. The campground is convenient and the view from picknic area is breath taking! 

Showers and Laundry 

Campground is covered with trees keeping noice relatively low. But walk out of the trees and out to the bay and the views are endless. Definitely make sure to catch a sunset there!

Nice quiet location with lots of trees

I got to Colter Bay village around noon and they had campsites still available, so we got one and put our yellow tag on our post right away. We left for the day and came back just after 8 pm and someone else was all set up in our spot and our yellow tag was gone. We had to drive around to find a place that was open to try and solve this issue because the campground was completely full and we would have no where to stay. A security guard came right away and was so friendly and helped us. We ended up sharing a campsite with the woman who accidentally got booked there. It was a simple human error and I ended up getting a refund. I appreciated the nice staff and the friendly campers a lot.

Besides that, this site is awesome. There is a ton to do within walking distance and tons of amenities offered. Our camp site was pretty big and had lots of trees around it, providing some nice shade in the morning. Apparently bears are common in this area, so locking up your food in the bear containers provided at each campsite is a must. We didn't encounter any bears and slept great. Went on a 2 mile walk on the lake shoreline trail and visited the visitor center for a while. Such a nice time!

Overbooked site but friendly staff 

Campground was very clean and well managed. All ammediates were readily available on the campground including laundry shower and convience store as well as restaurant. The canoe and kayak rentals to go on Jackson River well worth it. Defintly stop at the beach as well. 

Colter Bay Fun

This was our second summer camping around the the country for 40 days, and the second summer that we finished our trip in Colter Bay. Colter Bay is a great place to kick back and unwind. We choose these tent-cabins because they are reservable whereas the campground is first-come first-serve. Honestly though, they are really fun. The area is close to horse corrals, a short walk to Colter Village, the visitor center, the marina, the boat ramp, some hiking trails, and the swim beach beach on Jackson lake. The village has a gift shop, an excellent market/grocery, two restaurants, a laundromat, and showers that cost a little less than $5 each, but are not timed. There is public WiFi at the village and campers can charge in the laundromat. There are plumbed bathrooms close in the campground and a dishwashing sink. Every site has a bear box. The bear boxes do get hot in the sun and some ingenious campers bring reflective covers to o keep their box cool.

Cherry on the Sundae 

This place is unbelievably beautiful! The campground is just a place to lay your head, but the hikes around Colter Bay are majestic! Church at the amphitheater was enjoyable, and the grocery store provided necessary items and ice cream treats daily!

Breathtaking displays of God’s beauty!

This is a large campground with 15 loops of 350 campsites plus group and hiker/biker sites as well as a separate RV park. Although during peak season, it will be full by late afternoon based on the times I've camped here in recent years.

Most sites are forested with good shade on Loops A-G while many sites on Loops H-O tend to be less forested. Many sites tend to have some scrub/underbrush and lack a designated tent pad (including this site).

Each loop has restrooms with flush toilets and running water as well as a utility room with a flush sink for washing dishes. Each restroom site also has a faucet outside for potable water.

Each site has a fire ring, picnic table, and bear bin.

There is a short trail to the shore of Jackson Lake for water activities, great views of the Tetons, a designated picnic area, as well as the marina and visitors center. Another trail takes you to the general store/deli and the laundry/shower facilities (both places have WiFi access although the general store network seemed faster). Firewood, ice, etc. can be purchased at the general store or at the gas station located just before you enter the campground.

There are multiple options for activities from this campground: hiking (Hermitage Point TH), horseback rides, boat cruises, scenic raft trips, fishing, kayaking, swimming, etc. Boat rentals and fishing equipment/licenses are available at the marina store.

Despite the number of sites/people, our site was pretty peaceful. Didn't see much wildlife around the campground this season, although there is a fox den near the general store that has been there the past few years.

Lots of Activities and Amenities!

This campground was pretty amazing. We stopped at Jenny Lake and watched the sun set and then drove up to Colter Bay and I was very satisfied with our stay! There were a lot of campsites to choose from and they were not right on top of each other which I really liked. There were a lot of trees which also provided more privacy.

One of my favorite campgrounds!

We spent 9 nights in Colter Bay RV park in a 30 ft travel trailer. It is a fairly large RV park, but still an easy walk from laundry, the store, the lake, and the visitor center. The sites were fairly level (the whole campground is on a downhill grade to the lake) and nicely spaced. We enjoyed being in the park, though on the north side it was a bit of a drive to Jenny Lake and Jackson. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would recommend.

A nicely located RV campground in Grand Teton 

I do my best to cross a few national parks off my bucket list every year, and Grand Teton is my favorite of them all. 
It is a busy area, and all sites are first come- first serve, so plan accordingly. We timed our arrival so we were there fairly early the day after many Fourth of July campers would be returning home. It worked in our favor, as the sweet woman who checked us in assigned us a spot in a quieter loop away from the RV areas (we are tent campers). Our site was spacious and among the tall pines. Each site has its own bear box which is fantastic and served as a great storage locker for all our gear. It was also in the shade and helped keep the ice in our coolers longer. There are restrooms nearby that are pretty basic, but include an area to wash dishes and get water. 
There is a fantastic camp store with a pretty amazing variety of groceries, including a fresh deli, ice cream, and quality craft beers! Shower and laundry facilities are available too. 
Jackson Lake is nearby where we took a boat tour that was educational &amp; entertaining. We were rewarded with seeing some bald eagles and elk while on the ride. We also rented kayaks and canoes there for some afternoon fun. 
All in all, great camping experience in one of the beat National Parks! 

Favorite Park!

Wow I have fallen in love with this campground. We stayed in the Rv area with full hook-ups and a good sized site which was gravel with a picnic bench and surrounded by shade. There was no fire pit but they did offer some close to the beach which is a minute away from our campsite. The only WiFi and cell service is at the bar and laundry area but it’s kind of nice to just step away from them. There is a gift shop, grocery store, laundry with showers, visitor center, gas station, propane fill, pizza parlor(yummy), bar/restaurant, and a marina offering boat and kayak rentals(1st come 1st serve).
There are tons of activities to do in the area along with hiking trails, rentals, guided fishing, wildlife viewing, photo ops everywhere and A FAMILY OF BLACK BEARS that frequent the area.  There is also jr ranger classes and religious services on Sunday.

Beautiful views of Tetons

Found an amazing campsite. A trail led from our campsite down to Jackson Lake. The view was unbelievable. The Park rangers were so friendly and helpful. Bathrooms have flushing toilets and running water. You can walk from the campsite to the Colter Bay store and gift shop. All the campers were so friendly. Definitely going back to Colter Bay.

In GT National Park, about 20 miles from S entrance to Yellowstone, very busy sites are not much, parking for rv and vehicles are along road tents can be put up further from road, bear boxes provided, picnic tables n fire pits, showers r in laundry room up by main stores not very close to camp sites, rode bike up to stores, beach and restaurants, there is a small grocery store on site with gift shop, this park is ran by Vail Resorts for the National Park Service, so you are in a National Park, follow fire restrictions closely.

very busy

Check-in was super helpful to a rookie camper.  They suggested how we should pull into the site in order to face the correct direction and they informed us all about the fresh water refill station as well as the black water dumping station.  Site was simple to pull in and out of and the trees provided a good amount of privacy.

  
With Colter bay marina nearby, there was plenty to go see and do.  We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Fantastic Camper Site

So, we just returned from our first trip to GTNP and Yellowstone, and tented 3 nights at Colter Bay (also 1 night at Jenny Lake, and 1 night at Gros Ventre).  First, GTNP and YNP in autumn is amazing, and Colter Bay has many great services conveniently available in the campground, such as a well stocked camp store, decent showers, one restaurant, and laundry.  Colter Bay camp ground is also close enough to YNP to be within striking distance for day trips up to all the southern attractions (although Headwaters at Flagg Ranch would be more centrally located between the parks).

  

Now the bad news:  the bathrooms in the campground look like they have never been cleaned or maintained.  The maintenance crew should be fired.  No hot water, broken cold water faucets. brown smelly urinal, filthy floors and stalls.  WTF?  I guess the teenagers they hire for summer workers don't like cleaning bathrooms.  At this point, its probably a good idea to gut the entire bathroom and start over from bare walls.  I would rather primitive camp in the nearby forest - oh, wait, thats illegal.  I'd have to drive 30 miles to get outside the national park before primitive camping is allowed...

  

One more gripe:  although there are many services provided by the national park service or their concessionaires (Vail Resorts) available to campers in the campground, is it really necessary to gouge campers on everything they sell?  $32/night to tent, $40 for breakfast for 2, $7.50 for a box of 4 logs, $4 for a shower,   I realize the park service claims they are woefully under-funded, but camping is supposed to be a good value for the vacations of middle class Americans, right?  After all, they market it as "your national parks" and I pay my taxes, and then they charge me again?  If its my national park, then I charge too much for everything.

  

OK.  I feel better now.  Other than these items, GTNP is a beautiful place.

Great location, good amenities :) , disgusting bathrooms, price gouging :(

You could spend your entire vacation here without leaving the campground (but don’t do that because there are two incredible National Parks right there). If I had to nitpick l, one thing is that most of the tent campsites aren’t too isolated from one another. When I stayed at the cabins, this wasn’t as much of an issue but still not great privacy. But I’m grasping at straws...I wouldn’t hesitate to return. 

1000% Will Return

Typical busy NP campground. Very clean, running water, flushing toilets. Close to amenities like gas station, showers, general store, etc if your willing to wait in line. Downsides are the crowds and tight camping quarters.

Clean but crowded 

28’ trailer and 22’ truck during September made this tight parking with plenty of neighbors!  Had all the amenities but more people than we like to have. National parks are this way so we were glad to find a spot!

Tight Quarters 

We got in the queue around 10am on a Sunday morning, which worked in our favor as many folks seemed to be leaving from the weekend. Check-in was friendly and pleasant. As always, sites differ in size and attractiveness, but we got a very spacious site (B60?)that would have accommodated several large tents in addition to a pull through drive for the vehicle/rv. It was shady and quiet and we were happy to have pleasant neighbors. It got very quiet by 9pm, which is refreshing in such a large campground. The Colter Bay Campground village has a shower facility ($5 per) which was impeccably clean when we were there in the early mornings. I did laundry one afternoon and noticed that the showers are much busier then when people are coming back from hikes or whatever, and the gal at the desk was having a hard time keeping up with the cleaning and staffing the desk at the same time. Bathrooms and grounds were clean, well-tended, occasional wildlife passing through so be on guard. WiFi  is available in and around this building, but don’t expect to get WiFi or cell at your campsite. We had hoped to spend a day on the beach there, but it was closed due to bear activity in the area. We were on a three week camping trip and this campground provided the best experience of all that we stayed at. 

Excellent stay

Me and my family decided to take a spontaneous weekend trip up to Wyoming. We were there the 26th &amp; 27th of September, it was so awesome! Colter bay is a very popular camping spot and we didn’t reserve ahead of time, so we went to the campsite with the knowledge that we possibly might not get a spot and would have to camp outside the park. Well, things ended up working out really well for us and not only did we get a spot, but we were able to get in Grand Teton national Park because the 26th happened to be national public lands day! The camp hosts were absolutely charming and helpful, and the campsite itself was beautiful! I don’t think they typically have random campsite openings, but since the 27th was the last day of the season, and since it was quite cold, I think most people don’t pick that time to go. Nevertheless, it was absolutely exceptional and I would recommend this campsite to those of all different kinds of groups, small or large!

Spontaneous weekend trip!

Site 222 was excellent. Close walk to the lake. Back corner of a loop with lots of space to let kids run. Had black bears walk through out site, between our hammocks and climb the trees, nibble on some berries before walking on to the lake. Rangers were there and kept everyone safe. Wow. 
WiFi is good at the market. Nice grocery with all the supplies you need. Propane fill up and the gas station at the entrance. You could stay here a long time! We will be back. 

Awesome. Bears and Beaches

This campground is located in the Teton National Park. (About an hr from the entrance). A full service campground for $96 a night. We stayed her 3 nights because it was central to the Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. However, there are many others to choose from within the park. But due to Covid-19 closing so many amneties and the times of the facilities, $96 was a bit steep for the services because all were mostly closed when we were there, no fishing allowed on the lake (unknown reason) and the store, marina rentals all closed as well. I feel as though the CG should have been discounted.   Sites were not level. There were 3 of us. All 3 campers needed to use blocks or wood under our tires. 

Remote, tight, with full service

We spent a couple nights at this campground while visiting the Grand Tetons National Park. We enjoyed our stayed but we felt like we were packed in with a lot of other campers.

  

Our stay was okay but would prefer to have more room between sites. This wouldn't be our first choice of place to stay when visiting Grand Tetons National Park again but at the same time it was one of the few full-hookup RV campgrounds near Grand Tetons.

  

Our site wasn't very level but we were able to make it work without too much fuss. Hookups worked as expected but water pressure was a little low during prime time hours.

Big and close

A wonderful campground with privacy and ammenities. We stayed two nights under the stars and even had a fox encounter at night. He was very friendly. It’s right down the road from the Colter Bay grocery store that has everything you need and more. We were so impressed. Since we went in the summer, we also went swimming in the water. It was beautiful. Absolutely recommend.

Beautiful and Great Location

Clean campground near lots of amenities. Gas station, grocery store, showers, and flush toilets. Neighbors are fairly close. Fire ring with foldable grill grates. This site was right across the road from the bathroom. Short walk to Jackson Lake. 

Good Place to Resupply

Awesome campground right in the park. We stayed 5 nights and really enjoyed it. Full hook ups yet still plenty of trees and space to where it felt like a national park site and not like an RV park. Lots of amenities grocery store, laundry with free WiFi, showers, restaurant, gas/diesel near by. Was a short walk to Jackson lake which was beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic 

Main campground in Grand Tetons - served as a good home base for 1 night.  Walkable into Colter Bay Village and there was a trail to Jackson Lake &amp; day use area.  Had a nice pull through site with bear box, picnic table, fire pit, and close to bathrooms &amp; water.

  

There is an RV-only campground next door if you are looking for full hookups.  No hookups at this site

Convenient in Central Tetons

Stayed in loop F site 134 for a few nights and then moved to Loop A site 6.  Both were great sites with privacy.  Saw two bears! Colter Bay is a great location due to it's access to both the Tetons and Yellowstone.  Amenities were great and it wasn't loud at all.

Upon our arrival in Grand Teton National Park, Colter Bay Campground was our first night of camping during a massive 5 week/ 10,500 mile road trip during the Summer of 2021. 

Our initial impression upon arrival in Colter Bay Village, was that Colter Bay was a well spread out campground, with plenty of parking, facilities, activities, and absolutely stunning views of both Jackson Lake and the various peaks of the Tetons themselves. 

Upon getting acclimated with the various loops of the campground, we headed for the quasi beach area on Jackson Lake and went swimming. Jackson Lake was so refreshing after driving with no working A/C. 

We watched a gorgeous and colorful sunset dip over the Tetons from the Willow Flats Overlook. Then returned to camp. Then we woke up early to experience sunrise and took in the array of colors and early rising wildlife that were roaming in the grassy areas not too far from Rockefeller Pkwy. 

The only negative about our campsite was the mosquitoes. Apparently the little green shrubs/ evergreen bushes around the tent area are nesting grounds for the blood suckers. We used citronella candles near the sleeping area to try and keep ‘em at bay, but to no avail. 

We enjoyed staying at Colter Bay, but will experience the other campgrounds when we return to GTNP, before returning to Colter Bay Village. 

Breathtaking Views and abundant wildlife

This is a lovely campground. You’re in a nice forest of trees and there are lovely hikes nearby. However, it is EXPENSIVE. Everything in the Tetons appears to be, which is odd to me. It was $50 for a camp site and then another $10 for two people to take a shower. Still less than a hotel, but not by much. 

Nice, but pricy 

Great place to stay when visiting Grand Tetons. Full hookups and a short walk to a general store, gift shop, laundry (expensive), showers, visitor center and restaurants. Can hop on a hiking trail right in the campground or walk down to the lake and enjoy the mountain views.

When I saw how many sites this campground had, I was expecting it to feel like chaotic zoo, but I was pleasantly surprised. It can be a little busy to get into, but the way it’s organized into so many loops, you just drive past them all to yours. Then once you get to your loop, you forget the others exist and it just feels like your small typical campground. It was not nearly as loud as I was expecting and with the trees, you can barely see your neighbors. The bathrooms were older but clean, no showers here but there are near the store. You can walk to the lake and the store has everything you might need. Close to lots of good stuff in the park! Highly recommend. 

Big Campground with a Quieter Feel

Electric hookup, we stopped in here for the night on the way to Yellowstone, this is basically closest to grand Teton and you can see the Teton overlooking the lake from the camp store area. It is gorgeous and lots of wildlife. Lots of bugs. Not very good reception here. Clean facility.

Colter Bay

A stones throw away from the colter bay visitor center with access to a rocky beach with the best views on lake Jackson. We stayed in the campground not the RV park and it was just fine. We dumped and filled on the way in and enjoyed our electric only site. 
Temps drop pretty low in the evening and you don’t even need to the AC. All sites are pull throughs and uniquely set up off the side of the road. Weird to look at but SO convenient and gives you so much space for your actual camp.  Our site was massive and level. Other campers were jealous of the site we got and were asking us when we were leaving lol. I got lucky and snagged this reservation after someone canceled. Otherwise it’s booked up months in advance. 

Easily a favorite

This spot was next to water and near the bathroom but not so close that you are in the middle of bathroom traffic. This site has a pull through making it easy &amp; convenient to upload &amp; leave. The site is large I had a pop up tent, small two person tent &amp; stand up tent for changing and still had tons of room. I actually could’ve put up two more small tents. Site has shade &amp; sun throughout the day. Bear boxes on site as all food items must be stored in bear county. Will comeback to this site again.


Great campground near amenities 

We love staying at Colter  Bay Village. It’s a beautiful place nestled in a pine forest. Had a great laundromat, grocery store and more.

Colterbay campground is first rate.

We moved for one night to the RV side with full hook ups. The sites are level, long, quite, and nicely spaced out. Well worth the money, close to the lake. There are NO fire rings, only propane fires are allowed in the RV park.

Great Park

This is a great full hook up campground inside the national park. Bathhouses were clean and the campground is really quiet. The stars at night are phenomenal and we can’t wait to come back

Small sites but full hook up and just minutes walk to the lodge and Jackson lake. 

Great views 

We got a spot by luck because somebody canceled exactly in this minute when we searched. Costs are 50$/night. Showers are extra and far away from the campground. Our spot was really close to the lake and the restrooms and really quiet. 

Really good spot, though expensive

This campground offers everything. You can get full hookups, no hookups, electric only, group camping, tent camping, areas where you can use a generator and areas where you cannot. They have a small grocery store, a restaurant, bar, ice cream. Plenty if hiking trails, boating, boat rentals. If you can't find something to do here your not trying!

Colter Bay campground 

I tried to reserve the site at the rv park right at the time the reservations opened and I ended up getting the only spot open in the non full hook up side. About two weeks prior to our visit, I checked and someone canceled so we were able to get an end spot with full hook ups. There is a lot to do at this campground. We brought and inflatable kayak that had to be inspected and paid a grand Teton permit to use. We attended the 9pm talk with a ranger. We only had two full days there but it was nice. Jackson is about an hour away.  We also did a hike with a ranger.

Lucky 

We stayed at 337 in loop O in our sprinter. This site was a very short and beautiful walk to the lake which we loved. Clean bathrooms two sites up the loop with water. Due to some u foreseen circumstances we arrived at 10pm instead of our planned noon so we didn’t get to enjoy to much but the area is beautiful the pull in was level. We chose it to be close to the lake and had a great morning walk there. Would stay again to be next to the lake. 

337 O 

Coulter Bay Campground is located on Jackson Lake just across from the Grand Tetons. It an incredibly beautiful place to camp.

The camp grounds are a bit tight especially if you stay in the RV Park. 
We stayed in the campsite side and all the sites are either campsite or pull-through for RV.        

If you're an RV'r take note: not all sites are created equal so make sure your rig will fit on the site that you reserve.

Dump stations are clean and well maintained as are the sites. If you get a site with hook-ups be very careful about how you back-in so the you don't damage the utilities.

This is a very popular RV park and, besides it's idyllic beauty it has Cabins, a general store, a convenience  store with gas, there's a propane refill station, showers and a laundry-mat, as well as a restaurant on site. 

... and there are lots of great hiking trails and opportunities for taking great photos.

All-in-all you and your family are really going to love this campground.

P.S Did I mention that its only 18min to the south entrance to Yellowstone and even more idyllic beauty? ... yeah you gotta go there!



Idyllic Beauty Awaits

Colter Bay is my favorite.

  

I've stayed in the cabins here 3 years in a row and now the camping sites this year (not RV resort) and I cannot get enough of this place. 

  

Camping amenities are nothing fancy, nor are they bad. The bathrooms next to the sites were clean and flush which was a pleasant surprise.

  

The site was somewhat level, could have used blocks but we are in a van and only stayed two nights, so it was not that big of a deal. 

  

Showers in the "Launderette and Showers" were decently clean, nothing to complain about aside from the odd closing at 8pm. (Not really a big deal, just need to plan around it if showers are a part of a nightly routine)

The ONLY place to stay in the Tetons! 

Reserving online, hard to tell what site would look like. I recommend getting a site larger than your rig not just what the measurements are. We chose a pull off site which was ok but we preferred a back in for more privacy. The campground was fairly secluded with it being end of season.

Many sites, fairly level

This is a decent campground. The tall trees provide lots of shade and give it a forest feel even though there are a ton of RVs. You will want to reserve ahead a time - spots are pretty competitive.

We liked the proximity to the store and laundromat/showers, as well as the lake and hiking trails that were just across the way. There was also an Interpretive center that was really close and we were able to walk there for an evening program.

Great location for exploring GTNP

This place has everything u need in a full facilities campground. Laundry and showers are great and you can use a credit card instead of coins. I think it is all pull through spots and although they are close, we did not feel like we lacked privacy….there are trees throughout the camping area. The restaurant is sub par. The general store has everything!

Full Facilities in the heart of the Tetons

Wow, maybe it’s me, and the fact that we’ve been spending a lot of time at state campgrounds and off grid on BLM land, but $65 to sleep on top of each other, albeit it is beautiful National Park, but here’s the kicker, five dollars for a shower and $12.00 for a bundle of wood?! Wow, back to Forest Service and BLM land…

OK, but very pricey!

\*\*CAUTION STAFF STEALS FROM CAMPS\*\*\* Dropped off my cooler at my campground in a bear box. Came back from hike and my cooler packed with food for week was stolen out of bear box. Asked nearby campers who witnessed staff taking cooler. Contacted security/ staff and was brushed off. Got local police involved and the next day cooler was returned empty. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Always lock your stuff up at this campsite and do not trust the staff/ security. Thank you colter bay staff for ruining our trip.

**CAUTION STAFF STEALS FROM CAMPS***

Most sites are pretty uneven so bring blocks. I had to get pretty creative in our super C. It’s also pretty packed in. Don’t expect to have room to maybe even put out your awning.  Also very expensive without a lot of amenities.  Besides that the location is amazing.  The ease of exploring the park makes it worth for at least a couple of night especially if you need to hit a specific area early.
