Nicolet National Forest's Ada Lake NF Campground sits on a small lake in Lakewood, Wisconsin, open from early May through mid-October. Sites are well-spaced, and a sandy beach provides direct water access, though dogs are not permitted on or near the beach. The lake is restricted to trolling motors only, which keeps boat traffic minimal. A camp host maintains the grounds and has kept a small lending library on site. Anglers, hikers, and snowmobile trail users all find reasons to stay. Hiwanka Lake is another option for campers wanting a different setup in the area.
