Best RV Parks & Resorts near Matlock, WA

Several RV parks and resorts operate near Matlock, Washington with accommodations for various motorhome sizes. Little Creek Casino Resort RV Park provides full hookup sites with 50-amp electrical service and sewer connections, operating year-round with sites accommodating rigs up to 70 feet. Olympic Gateway Cottage and RV Site offers a single RV space with water, electric, and thirty-amp hookups but lacks sewer connections. "Clean and new. Good wifi. Make sure you get a site that is large enough for both the RV and your vehicle as there is no extra parking," noted one visitor about Little Creek. Lake Cushman RV Lot features fifty-amp and thirty-amp electrical hookups with water and sewer connections, though the campground prohibits campfires.

Road navigation to certain RV parks requires planning as Highway 101 provides the main access route through the region. Most parks maintain gravel parking pads rather than concrete, with varying degrees of levelness. Dump stations are available at Little Creek Casino Resort and several state parks within 30 miles. Cell service varies by carrier throughout the forested areas. Pet policies differ between facilities, with most allowing pets but imposing restrictions. According to a camper, "The dry lot is nicer than spending the night in a Walmart parking lot, but loud and very bright. Maintenance vehicles go by at all hours of the night." Winter visitors should verify seasonal availability as some smaller parks close during the off-season.

Hoh Rain Forest - Olympic National Park

    Just gorgeous!

We absolutely loved our stay here (9/5-9/7)! We arrived on a weekday and the campground was fairly empty, so we were able to grab a great spot in the A loop with easy access to the restrooms and the trails to the visitor center. The campground is first come, first serve, dry camping, and the dump station was out of service while we were there.

There are both back-in and pull- through sites with concrete pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. Some tight turns and low-hanging trees but our 32’ fifth wheel managed just fine. Plenty of wildlife, including deer, rabbits, birds, squirrels, and numerous banana slugs.

The visitor is an easy walk from the campground. The hiking trails were simply gorgeous and we definitely did not stay long enough to thoroughly enjoy this area of Olympic National Park.

Nearby Forks, WA is a 45 minute drive from the campground.

Two bars of Verizon LTE but it varied throughout the park.

A note about the drive in: We are very glad we arrived on a weekday! The road into this campground is narrow, and there were times we were driving over the centerline to keep our rig on the road. There is no shoulder for most of the drive and we did not want to meet any oncoming traffic with a rig as long as ours. It’s doable but take it slow!

    Copalis Beach RV Resort

    RV resort and campground

This an ideal beach access resort. There is a very nice pedestrian walkway bridge over a small stream and then a short walk through the dunes to a beautiful ocean beach. During certain times of the year vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach through various access points within a couple of miles of the resort.

We visited this resort during the off-season in November and during the middle of the week. There were only 8 other campers in the park with a few long termers. You can purchase a membership but it is not necessary to stay here. Visitors are welcome but it can be very busy during the summer time and holidays. I would call for availability.

This is an older park and facilities show their age but the bathrooms and showers were very clean. There is a dedicated tent only area and a few cabin rentals. RV sites are side by side and back to back. There is no shade. RV sites are full hookup with water, power, sewer and cable. There is also a dump site on location. Wi-fi is available for a fee, otherwise not accessible. We forgot to sign-in to our Winegard Gateway before arriving so we had data but no Wi-fi. Gravel sites with a little grass and fairly level.

Pet friendly but dogs must be leashed. Our dog had a great time running on the beach and walking the trails in the dunes.

Propane and ice available on site.

There is a community fire pit and portable propane fire pits are allowed at the sites.

Not all sites have picnic tables.

The town of Ocean Shores is about a 20 minute drive.

On site resort manager, Timothy and his wife, were very friendly and always willing to help.

    Pacific Dunes Resort

    Close together spaces

Smaller rv gravel sites. Difficult for guests to back in due to sharp cornersand tight smaller spaces. Space just for 26' travel trailer no room for tow vehicle. Used extra parking by dumpster. All utilities included. Nice wooden privacy fence behind all the rv sites. Picnic table and firepit with movable grill on it. Propane grill next to sand play area. Wifi was good. NO Cell reception for T-Mobile or Verizon.

    Cedar Glen RV Park

great long-term or quick on the way

There are several long term campers here. The grounds are kept immaculate and they regularly update the sites.  They hang wreaths for the winter holidays. Lawns mowed weekly.

All are level gravel. All have grass area, some with patio pad. There is a dog walk area and they are currently creating a dog fenced area at the end orf the two rows.

A caretaker is on site and will often help guide rigs into the sites (all are back-in).

Close to Poulsbo (a cute, Norwegian heritage town), Seattle ferry via Bainbridge Island and just over an hour to the Olympic National Park via the Hood Canal Bridge.

    Hoquiam River RV Park

    Close to beaches

This campground is about 45 minutes south of Quinault Lake in Olympic NP. So it adds a lot of extra time and miles to explore ONP. It is about 20 minutes to the beaches, which was great. You can drive your car right up onto the beach, which was awesome. The showers and laundry were very clean. Site were full hookups, but very close together. Sites are very close together with no privacy. There are many long-term RV's here. The area fronting the river is very well landscaped and offers fire rings, benches, grills, and a nature path to walk your dog.

    Lake Sylvia State Park Campground

    Hidden Gem

Set in a former logging camp above the town of Montesano, park life revolves around a large swimming and fishing lake. This site is super family friendly and pet friendly too.

There is a playground on site and TONS of old logging roses turned bike trails.

There are plenty of tent and RV sites and s few primitive sites for campers. There are showers a flushing toilets.

    Riverbend Campground

    Nice campground with friendly staff

Interesting the other review was for a first time out with their travel trailer!  Same for us!

We got site 106 which was the furthest one out, it was right along the river.  The site has a concrete slab and fit our Jayco 174BH perfectly.

This site does is a back in, but the slab is at a 90 degree angle from the drive.  So you will have to back your trailer around a corner if you plan to park it on the slab.  Didn't see other sites like this.

The campground did have a very small selection of items to buy, but mainly snacks.  They do fill propane tanks, but only during week days.

The site had water and electrical, but no sewer connections.  they do have a nice dump station.

The camp ground itself did have at least 2 pet areas neither are fenced so a leash is required, along with a playground for the kids.

We have Verizon and had no issues with cell signal at this campground.

Also, this is a private campground, so they have a guy that stands at the gate to open it when guests come arrive.

    Pacific Beach State Park Campground

    Simplicity at the beach

There isn't a lot of privacy between slots but this campground offers RV, tent and yurts. Electrical HU only but dump site available. It's right off the beach with a little shop in walking distance. There's also a motel with an accessible laundry room nearby. There is a huge expanse of beach to play on when the tide is out. Most campers leave dogs off leash on the beach. Tons of kites flying through the summer days, it's beautiful. Campfires on the beach allowed. Camp hosts are great and facilities upkeep is well managed. Two shower tokens per dollar, each token = 3 minutes. Summer books up quickly, need to secure 9 months in advance. Cell service is very spotty and campground WiFi is as well.
