Friends Landing

Grays Harbor County operates Friends Landing as a riverside campground along the Chehalis River south of Montesano. The facility divides into two distinct areas—one designated for RVs with hookups supporting rigs up to 45 feet, and a separate section for tent camping. Both areas provide access to maintained restrooms with showers and drinking water.

The campground sits directly on the river with a fishing dock extending into the water. Campers can fish from the dock or explore additional fishing spots in the surrounding area. A playground serves families with children, while a trail loops around nearby Lake Sylvia. Lake Sylvia State Park Campground provides another option for those preferring a lake setting over river access.

Highway noise carries across the water, and bright security lighting remains on throughout the night. Some sites offer more privacy than others. "Bathrooms and showers on site were nice and clean," reports Lindsay S., though hot water availability can vary. The facility accommodates both drive-in and boat-in access, with reservations available online.

MonteSquare RV Park & Lodge offers an alternative for RV campers seeking full hookups in a more urban setting.

Numerous guests pointed out the clean facilities, fishing access, and family-friendly amenities like playgrounds. Highway noise and bright overnight lighting were concerns for some visitors.

Okay for one night

The location on the river is nice. Can fish from the dock. Bathrooms decent but no hot water when we were here. Loud from highway across the river and they leave the bright lights on all night. Some sites not private at all. Happy with our site

Great last minute option

We stayed one night with a camper van. Many other places were booked up but this campground had plenty of spots available. It was a nice, well-maintained campground with nice lake views and a playground. We were able to make the reservation online quickly and it was easy to find the campground and our spot, even in the dark. Bathrooms and showers on site were nice and clean.

Great Grays Harbor County spot!!

This is another great Grays Harbor County spot just south of Montesano. Like Lake Sylvia it is super family and pet friendly. The campsite is divided into two different areas...one for RVs and the other for tents. The facilities are all well maintained and the bathrooms have showers. It is a pretty quiet campground even though it is near a highway.

There are lots of spots to fish in the campground as well as the surrounding areas.

Great place and handicap accessible.

Clean and accommodating. Manager Gary is a friendly and hard working guy. We camp here every few weeks to get away from home. Campers and walkers are friendly. Great handicap park.

Great for families!

Two separate areas, one for RV's and another for tents. A river dock for fishing, a playground for kids, plus a beautiful trail around the lake. Big clean bathrooms (with showers) makes this a great spot!
