Unethical Customer Service/Management
Booked a lot on September 21, 2023 for November 1st. I received an email for the confirmation of the deposit. I called on October 25, 2023 to cancel the reservation as we were no longer going to be in the state at the time of the reservation. I spoke with the customer service lady who told me she would speak with the manager, Becky. They then called to tell me per the cancellation policy they sent me in the confirmation email that it was a forfeiture of the deposit. I had Becky send me the email as I could not find it while driving. The original email they sent versus the “refurbished” email Becky sent state two completely different things. I have called around 20 times and no one will answer. I have emailed the original email to show where the cancellation policy has been reworded. I have left voicemails and no response. I’m out of $250. Hopefully I can save other people from giving these frauds any money with this review. You have been warned.
Good times
Camping is good, some spots are close together others are not. I would give more stars if the didn’t have so many full time campers. Water front is bad beach is bad I found at least 4 docks that were falling in the water 1 was just okay and the main dock with boat slips are for the full timers. 2 boat ramps one to the lake is a mess one to the river is nice but very busy. Little or no cell signal Wi-Fi is okay Hookups are okay great for large rigs
Decent campground
Rockahock is a decent campground. It has a nice boat launch a nice pool that is well kept. The sites are massive and very quiet. Ideal place for a family if you are fully contained. Bathrooms need a lot of work as toilets don’t work or stall doors don’t close. Also mirrors are broken and on weekends they run out of supplies. Wi-Fi is spotty at best.
Never Going Back
This park wasn’t anything spectacular. I am honestly surprised it had 4 stars. The location was cool being on the water but the grounds were absolutely disgusting. Our site had a nice brick pad, which was convenient and a good bit of space behind the trailer, but all around was terrible. The electrical hook ups were all busted up, (I would not recommend using it without a surge guard), the water faucets leaked and the ground was soaked. They had tractors and construction going on at all times, you couldn’t just relax outside your trailer. You had to yell to talk over the equipment. The playground for our two year old was filthy and unsafe for her to play on. They did have a jumping pillow that she could play on and she did enjoy, but again garbage everywhere and was filthy. I know it sounds like a list of complaints but when you go through their entrance, which was beautiful, the park was very disappointing.
Long term stay
We didn't stay in the "front" part of the campground (with all the weekenders), we stayed in the "long term" stay campsites waaaayyyy in the back. We were there 2-3 months.
Weekends definitely get busy. Staff is helpful. Boat ramp access, FHU, pool and plenty of room to stretch your legs. Sites up front are a little crammed together, but level. Not a bad place to stay.
