Accessible by car with reservations available March through November, Ed Allen's Campground and Cottages accommodates RVs up to 65 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Sites cost $30-45 per night and the facility provides drinking water, restrooms, showers, dump station, and WiFi access. The campground allows pets and offers boat-in and walk-in options alongside standard drive-in camping.
A large pond serves as the focal point for fishing activities, while walking trails wind through the property. The campground includes a playground area and hosts community events like barbecue dinners for guests. Gary G. notes there are "lots of trails to walk" around the grounds. Long-term sites mix with short-term camping spots, creating a community atmosphere that appeals to both weekend visitors and extended-stay campers.
Train tracks run adjacent to the property, producing noise throughout the night that light sleepers should consider when planning their stay. The campground maintains clean facilities and sites, though some areas feature tighter spacing between camping spots. Staff members work actively to maintain the grounds, and the office features a resident dachshund named Peanut.
Located 30 minutes from Williamsburg, the campground provides a rural base for exploring central Virginia attractions. For additional camping choices in the region, Rockahock Campgrounds & Resort RV Park sits less than a mile southeast.
