Best RV Parks & Resorts near Barton, VT

Limehurst Campground was perfect for our stay in Vermont. We had a site right on the beautiful lake with full hook-ups. Campground is well maintained. Swimming is allowed in the lake and there is also a pool. Camp Ground personnel take you to your site and help you back in your trailer.

This is one of our favorite trips every year! The campground is small, only 7 sites, but located at the base of Cannon mountain nestled next to Echo lake it's simply breathtaking! No frills but has full hook ups since 2016. A definite must see!

Stayed here recently for our 2nd full hook up ever. Kids were happy with the heated pool, horse rides, and other activities. Site map is oriented upside down and would be helpful if corrected and updated. Our site looked angled on map so thinking it would be easier to approach from a certain direction to back in, drove in as I needed but found site was perpendicular to road. Not a big deal but suggest with site map update that sites are correctly placed and oriented. Family staying next to us found their site had 50 amp service not the expected 30 amp and they needed to borrow an adapter cord (which was free). Labeling individual site power on map would be helpful. Creemee stand no longer there. Entire location on rolling hills gives the feeling of a small campground but it is fairly large. Lots of seasonal campers. Decent cell phone signal (Verizon).

This hilltop RV park is still in its infancy, but offers pull through sites, seasonal sites with sewer. Water is available from a tank; you'll need to provide your own power, whether solar or generator. You'll need to be self-contained, with no bathroom facilities available. The sites are separated by grass and some small trees/shrubs in places.

There is a small pool that should re-open after the coronavirus restrictions are eased.  If you're driving a big rig and have an ATV or other toys, you'll want to take a look here. There's plenty of space for your vehicle, trailer, and toys!

It's right next door to Milan Hill State Park and is convenient to ATV trails as well as hiking, walking, and biking opportunities in the area. Take a walk over to Milan Hill SP and climb the fire tower! Sites at the top of the hill provide a view of peaks in the distance. Jericho Mtn with its trails is also within 30 minutes drive.

Follow them on FB and they'll help you stay up to date with trail openings and closures. If you need to register your OHRV, you can do that at the campground.

If you've forgotten something, Berlin is nearby and Gorham offers a Walmart Supercenter.

It was the end of the season when I visited and there were signs of ongoing development.

Pool, playground, larger campground for this area. Full hookups, seasonal options, new owners!

Primarily for RVs.  Combo of seasonal and transient.  Excellent services.  On ct river w kayaks and canoes.

Public campgrounds are pretty limited in this part of VT, so we ended up at Gold Brook CG. This is definitely best for RVs/travel trailers where you can escape inside your unit because this place gets busy on the weekend. We visited in early June before the high season, so the crowds were minimal during the week but busy on the weekend. We personally would prefer more seclusion/privacy between the sites since we tent camp. All that said, the plots are level, grassy, and seemingly well maintained. The bathroom facilities were clean and nice; washer and dryer room available. Too cool for the pool but looked nice. We stayed in site 12, though next time i believe we’d opt for something further down to be closer to the creek. While we were next to the creek at site 12, it was blocked by brush and trees.

Check in was easy, and the staff were present enough in case you had questions or needed to buy firewood. Road noise was moderate; I wouldn’t want to stay in sites 1-11 due to the proximity to the road.

The campground served as a good ‘basecamp’ for accessing Stowe and other surrounding attractions.

Can’t speak to the negative review re cancellations, but my experience with the staff was all positive and received relatively prompt responses to questions.

Just a weekend stay up in Twin Mountains. Check in was fast and efficient. Site was clean, plenty big enough. We tented, but majority of sites were for RVs. Good mix of seasonal campers and daily.

Pool was small but sized right for the size of the campground. Price is great. Even reasonable prices on wood.

Nice little covered storage open style shed on the site... at first confused why it was there, but it makes for a handy little spot to store gear and keep everything dry.

Perfect area for fishing on the river. Hiking Mount Hale or Zealand.... etc

There are showers and toilets on property, only two for M/F. You pay $.25 for 5 minutes of hot water, which unfortunately isn’t always hot! I learned that the hard way. However, the sites are $30 per night (tents) and $40-$45 I believe for RV/Campers. There are a lot of people who have RV’s parked there year round and come seasonally. I was actually camping out of my car at this point and the site was perfect for it. Would be perfect for someone pitching a tent as well, as there is a lot of room on each site for multiple things. They also have running water for dishes and drinking. The owners live on a house on property, and cultivated the land from an RV they lived in while they developed the property. They have a big fluffy white dog that’s awesome. Lastly, there is a grill and picnic table at every site and they even have a waterfall on property with an available tent site nearby. However, you’d have to park your car at the top and hike down. it’s not too far!

Great campground with a mix of full hookup and tent sites! Many sites along the river and nice grassy sites near the front. Sites were spacious and well maintained. The campground is perfectly located for access to Franconia Notch. Highly recommend. The only negative was a mini-golf course that was falling apart but they still charged for to use.

Rates are comparable to other private campgrounds in the area, and lower on the more primitive sites. They offer a variety of sites, everything from primitive with an off-site water spigot to 50A/water/sewer. The larger RV sites are open and grassy, centrally located. The sites along the river can be narrow and the site descriptions are confusing (they'll say TENT ONLY, but then list tent, trailer, RV, class B motorhome; in other words, they'll handle regular size tents and smaller trailers and vans, but are not suitable for RVs with slideouts - and not guaranteed that your mega-tent will fit either). Each campsite description includes dimensions of the site so you can determine if your equipment will fit. If you want extra space, you want one of the premium river sites, but you'll pay for it. These sites are elevated above the river, so not convenient for getting to the river directly from your site, but the campground isn't very large and it's an easy stroll down to the river access near site R1. None of the sites are far from the restroom. If you don't care about being near the river and have a tent, check out some of the sites along the back road. Unlike several of the campgrounds in the area, you can reserve at least some of the sites online, though some will require a phone call. It has a mix of seasonal and short-term campers. Check-in at 1, check-out at 11.

If you're the type who likes to hang around the campground during the day or relax poolside after a day of hiking, this campground offers an inground pool, play area for the kids, the river to wade in, and a rec hall with pool and ping pong. Wifi coverage is VERY good; cell phone not great, but available.

This is a nice location for exploring the White Mountains, particularly if you want to hike some of the 4000-footers in the area (Garfield, Galehead, Twins, Zealand) or smaller peaks with a view such as the Sugarloafs, take a trip up Mt Washington via the Cog Railway or Ammonoosuc or Jewell trails, or explore Crawford or Franconia Notch.

This campground is finding its new identity and the website has been updated to reflect the new name (Along the River Campground, formerly Tarry Ho Campground). Email confirmation mentioned Tarry Ho in the subject, the sign out front still says Tarry Ho Campground, my calendar interpreted it as Allegory Inn). I had difficulty connecting with them...I reached out with questions and then just went with it after getting no answer via phone/voicemail full/email (granted, I was trying during the July 4th week, but you would think someone would eventually answer the phone).

I enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again when hiking in this area. I gave it 4 stars because of the inconsistency in site quality and size. They also have small cabins available for rent.

Jefferson Campground is located near the intersection of Routes 2 and 115 in the White Mountains. The new owners have made major improvements since the spring of 2019 when they took ownership. The RV sites have full hookups and the tent area is tucked into a wooded area with wild apple trees. There is onsite laundry, a pool and a playground. WiFi and Verizon signal were good. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Groceries are available in Lancaster, a 15-minute drive. There is also a good brewpub there, the Copper Pig. We love to hike, so this was the perfect location for us. So many trails in the area! We are looking forward to visiting this area again and will definitely return to this campground.

We just spent 5 days at this wonderful campground. They have paid attention to all of the finer details. Beautiful landscaping, well leveled sites, very clean and neat. The staff is wonderful. My only disappointment with the camp is that there are only a few sites with sewer hookup. However, the dumping station is conveniently located, so if you have a small tank, daily trips are not a problem. There is plenty to do in the area - Littleton is a beautiful little town. The old houses in are incredible. New Hampshire is not a dog friendly state, but a short Drive into Vermont gets you access to many fine restaurants where you can bring your dog. Be sure to visit Dog Mountain in Vermont- a truly touching memorial to departed pets.

Rudy's looked mostly to be an RV park, so my stop was maybe not the usual for this campground. I stopped for one night while I was thru-hiking the Cohos Trail in New Hampshire and had a great experience. There seemed to be much more space at this campground for RV and van travelers, though I didn't check out that part of the facility

I booked a tent site beforehand and on arrival had the choice of right next to Clarksville Pond or another area that I didn't check out since pondside sounded amazing, so my review is specific to the tenting experience.

I stopped by Rudy's before my hike, and they held onto a food drop for me (in a sealed big plastic container) for free, and held onto some extra gear for me so that I didn't need to carry it 

There are maybe ~3-4 tent sites right along the edge of the pond, in front of a few permanent cabins. They are basic tent sites right on the grass, with a fire ring and a picnic bench. The sites were flat and the views were amazing along the pond. 

I was able to get in a morning fly fishing session 5 feet from my tent! The wind was a bit high so no luck for me, but I saw the fish jumping when I stopped by after my hike to pick up some gear I left. Kathleen, the owner of the property, offered a free fly fishing lesson during my stay, but I had to decline to keep up the pace of my hike.

There was also access to the bathhouse with free heated showers, full bathrooms, and coin-op laundry. This was a great free amenity after 7 days on my hike for a necessary refresh.

The owner and other residents of the campground were super friendly. This was a great stop along my hike to refresh and connect with a few folks along the way.
