Free dispersed camping along the East Fork Sevier River runs across roughly 10 designated sites spread over several miles of FR087, inside Dixie National Forest. The first five miles of the road are paved; the remaining unpaved section is reported to be in good condition and manageable for most vehicles, including larger rigs. Sites are spread out enough that neighbors are rarely a factor, and some sit closer to the main road while others are farther back where ranch truck traffic is less noticeable.
No water, trash service, tables, or metal fire rings are provided at the sites themselves, though campers have built fire rings on-site. A vault toilet is available at the ATV crossing near the junction of FR087 and FR099, roughly 15 miles from the highway. The river runs through the camping area and is visible from multiple sites, with fish sightings reported by visitors who have stopped to look. No cell signal is available on either Verizon or AT&T throughout the corridor.
Drew T. notes "some ranch truck traffic but great valley spots for quiet sleep sites," which captures the tradeoff well. Site 6, near the FR087/FR099 junction, is notably large and could accommodate a group. Nearby campgrounds including Kings Creek and East Fork of Sevier River provide developed alternatives in the same corridor. Bryce Canyon National Park is approximately 30 minutes by car. Bring all water, food, and supplies before heading out, as services are not available along the road.
