Dave’s Hollow Designated Dispersed Camping

Dave’s Hollow Designated Area dispersed camping is fantastic! We stayed at site #2, which has a wide-open space and could easily be shared with another group. Since it was late December, there were only two other campers—one at site #1 and one at site #3—so it felt quiet and uncrowded.

We camped in a Sprinter van. The dirt road leading to the sites was a bit bumpy, so high-clearance vehicles are recommended. There was snow on the ground, and nighttime temperatures dropped to around 14°F, but our van’s propane heater kept us comfortable.

I highly recommend this camping area. It’s only about 5 minutes from the Bryce Canyon National Park entrance and visitor center, making it a convenient and peaceful place to stay near the park.

I didn't stay the night but just parked my camper in a spot while I visited Bryce. I think it was 3 minutes from the entrance and perfect.

Seems to be several spread out spots along a large loop. Spots are large enough for a camper. Area is quiet and best of all, it’s literally 3 minutes from Bryce National Park visitor center. Couldn’t ask for more.

Near Brice Canyon. Quiet, level and some deer walked by our camp. Over all very pleasant.

Perfect location for visiting Bryce Canyon. Sites were clean and nicely spaced. we went on Easter weekend and there were hardly any other campers. Were able to leave the camper to come back to visit the park

Road was closed before getting to the numbered sites. Recent weather has the dirt road slick and muddy. Area is beautiful and I saw deer on the way in. Will try again next time. 3-21-25

This was a great campsite just outside the National Park. Just make sure you stay in a designated spot as there is some no camping areas.

Can’t beat the location literally right outside the entrance to Bruce Canyon NP. There is a pull off/parking lot when you turn off the road leading to the NP with more info.

Very pretty spot. Clean and level campsites. Had a very hard time finding a site, very crowded. But once we did we loved it. BEWARE! Someone stole our trailer break emergency breakaway cord, it was a pain in the butt. Hopefully it was just a one time thing.

There are 26 DESIGNATED dispersed camp sites in the Dixie NF special management area part of Dave's hollow close to the Bryce NP boundary. The west part of Dave's hollow does not have the designated only restrictions, however there are way less campsites available. Cell signal is very good for the entire area. Note there are no vault toilets, no dumpsters and no water in the Dave's hollow area and all the roads are dusty dirt and could be muddy if wet.

Easy access off of the main road that goes into Bryce Canyon NP. I pulled in on a Saturday (after labor day) and most of the spots were open. Site 17 had good shade and open areas for solar panels. Other sites were shaded by trees. 

Weather was high 70s and mid 40s.  Minimal bugs. Saw some deer running around in the mornings.

Designated spots between trees, only trees. 15 mins drive to Bryce visitor centre. Very quiet, except for some buggies coming by over the road. Exceptionally large spots, levelled, sand/ stone, with a firepit made of stones. The road is bumpy, but good enough for our 30 ft RV. Very dusty though ( the spots also)

Kids loved strolling in the forest and the deers coming by.

When our original dispersed camping spot didn’t work out we drove down the road and found this little gem, right outside the entrance to Bruce Canyon National Park. There are a bunch of designated USFS camping spots. They’re level-ish, fire rings, and pretty easy to get to. We have a 1992 (renovated!) motorhome and we got to spot 17 no problem. We could have gone to 17-19, but then the road got to rough for our old girl. Lots of quads and sideXsides riding on the dirt road, kicking up dust till about 8:30PM but was not a big deal. Solid free camping right near the park!
