I5 North Rest Area near Shasta Lake

Pulled in around 1130pm and it was nearly full. Managed to secure a somewhat leveled spot near the water spigot and picnic table.

Despite being so close to I5, it was a quiet night’s rest. Felt safe. Small dog park near the water spigot and plenty of picnic tables.

Dispersed Camping MINUTES from Yosemite NP

Spent (2) nights here and loved it. Enough T-Mobile service for messaging and lite web browsing. Spacious pull-out with a small rock fire pit. I believe fires are allowed as long as you have a permit.

~8min drive to Big Oak Entrance and ~40min drive to Yosemite Valley Welcome Center. Why stay at Hodgdon when you can stay here!

Overnight Parking ~2hrs from Yosemite

Arrived around 11pm and there were a few campers/RVs settled for the night. It is a large and spacious lot so it’s recommended to park closer to the Taco Bell.

Felt very safe. Some noise at night with delivery trucks and early morning noise. Would for sure stay here again.

Quiet & Safe Overnight in Carmel

Arrived after 1030pm and a few vans and campers were settled in for the night. Safeway is 24 hours with restrooms inside.

Spent a quiet night towards the back of the lot. Avoid parking near the retail shops as some have gotten violations for overnight parking.

Dispersed Camping ~20 minutes from Zion NP

Relatively easy access from N Kolob Terrace Road. Arrived around 6pm and there were numerous sites taken up by longer term residents and fellow campers.

Most of the sites have ample space and a stone fire pit. 2-4 bars of T-Mobile 5G.

Spacious & Quiet Dispersed Camping

Pulled in around 9pm and found an empty site about .5 miles from Route 12. Awesome spot. Fire ring and very spacious. Managed to get 1-3 bars of T-Mobile 5G/LTE all night and morning.

Will most certainly revisit next time I’m in the area.

A Night at Escalante Outfitters

~$13.50/night to park in the gravel lot. I’ve got a RTT so it worked out perfectly. Full access to shop/restaurant, laundry, dish sink and shower (very hot, which was awesome).

Covered picnic tables and a communal fire pit nearby. Great alternative to the numerous BLM sites in and around town.

Small Slice of Paris, Texas in Marathon

Lovely RV Park and Motel. Clean and well kept facilities. Iconic location of several scenes from Paris, Texas.

Seasonal CG in The Rockies

$35/night. What a wonderful place to camp under the stars. One of the cleanest NP campgrounds I’ve come across. Closed until May 2025.

Desert Getaway in The Needles

Spent (2) wonderful nights under the moon and stars. One of my favorite campgrounds within the NP system. I stayed in Site 20 Loop B. Trash and Vault toilet nearby. Deep sink for drinking water and dishwashing a few minutes away.

No cell service. Wifi at Visitor Center (8 min. drive from Loop B). Friendly staff and volunteer rangers. Fire pit/grille and picnic table. Looking forward to the next stay.

BLM Camping ~15 minutes from Arches

Arrived around 530pm to ensure enough daylight to set up camp and select a spot with a fire ring. T-Mobile 3-5 5G Bars at all times. Fellow campers spread out nicely.

Peaceful Lakeside Camping

Made the reservation online. $14/night for a leveled site with covered table, fire pit and a water spigot. Had a great night. Felt very safe and noise was minimal. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Decent Spot. ~20 min to White Sands NP

Spent the night in the back left section of the parking lot. There were a few campers and RVs staying the night as well. Not the best sleep as random pickup trucks would speed through the lot. Woke up to a homeless man screaming and yelling in the distance.

Decent spot when visiting White Sands NP.

Sleep Under the Moon & Stars

Spent (3) nights at this wonderful campground. Panoramic views of Casa Grande and the Chisos Mountains. $16/night. Reservations MUST be made online.

West Texas RV Park Nostalgia

A Good Sam Park. Outdated. $28/night for a Tent site. Much needed showers and a pool after a few days in Big Bend. Place definitely could use some TLC, however, site was clean and management were very friendly.

Lastly, there was an abnormal amount of flies throughout the property. Not sure if it’s a seasonal thing.

A Shell of Its Former Self

Highlights of the trip included a somewhat secluded site by the river, pavilion tater tots and the pool. This campground was once thriving with activities and events and a real sense of community. Now, it seems hollow and unkept. Bathrooms and Showers were filthy.

Good, No- Frills Campground

Pinewood has all of the basics covered. Great place to spend 1-3 nights under the stars. Hot showers were awesome (.25 cents per 3 minutes) and the stone fire pits were a hit. Pond was pretty dirty and you’ll be in close proximity to a shooting range and municipal airport (be wary of noise levels).
