Best Cabin Camping near Monticello, UT

Several campgrounds near Monticello, Utah offer furnished cabin rentals with varying amenities and comfort levels. Old West RV Park provides cabin accommodations right in town with electricity, heating, and access to clean shower facilities. The 3 Step Hideaway, located about 30 minutes from Monticello, features rustic cabins in a more secluded setting. Most cabins include basic furnishings such as beds, small refrigerators, and microwave ovens. Air conditioning is available in many units, particularly important during hot summer months. "Cabin is clean, has electricity inside with small frig and microwave. Full bed and bunk beds (no sheets). Water tap outside. A/C works well," notes one visitor to a cabin in the region.

Pet-friendly cabins can be found at several locations, with Moab KOA offering specialized units that include fenced yards for dogs. Cabin sizes range from cozy one-room structures to larger family units with separate bedrooms. Most locations operate seasonally, typically from March through November, though exact dates vary by property. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak tourist seasons when national park visitation is highest. One KOA visitor remarked, "They even have little cabins with yards with fences around them to let your buddy stretch his legs." Pricing typically ranges from $70-150 per night depending on cabin size, amenities, and season.

Cabin guests should plan to bring their own bedding, pillows, and towels as these items are rarely provided. While some deluxe cabins include bathroom facilities, most require using the campground's shared restrooms and showers. Kitchen setups vary widely, from simple outdoor picnic tables with fire rings to units with small refrigerators and microwaves. Cooking equipment, utensils, and food storage containers are not typically provided. The town of Monticello offers a grocery store for supplies, though selection is limited compared to larger towns. Many cabin campers bring coolers with pre-prepared meals or plan simple cooking over fire pits where allowed.

    Moab Koa

    Stayed in a cabin

We arrived on the later side of things and every camp area was full, in all of Moab, KOA had four cabins available so we snatched one up. It was a new cabin and it was wonderful. We normally wouldn't camp in a cabin but after a 3 hour drive, we weren't interested in turning around and driving home. It had a queen bed in the room you first walk in to. Then beyond that was another room with a bunk bed and a full bathroom. Toilet, tub and sink. It also had a small table, fridge, microwave and tv. It was basically a small hotel room. It had it's own deck and cook grill. The views were nice, the staff was nice. We didn't explore a whole lot of the campground but they did have a pool and other sites looked nice. It was not far from Arches National Park and town was even closer. If we were looking for a less rugged camp trip, we would consider their cabins again.

    Moab Rim RV Campark

    Best spot in Moab!

6 stars for customer service! We came in late on Easter weekend during the Easter Jeep Safari Event. They were packed but found a place for us in the back. The host brought out a picnic table and fire ring for us, even offering a barbecue upon request. The Restrooms were Super clean and the hot water seemed endless in the shower. Guys get there early my hubby said the wait in the men’s room for anything was horrible, I did not have that experience on the Ladies side. The camping inside the inner circle seemed super nice with grass and shade, some sites even having shade structures. We were in the back lot (79) not on the map pictured. The CampPark also had several small cabins that looked adorable, and prices vary by season. Wi-Fi was available, the general store had a little bit of everything and it’s just down the street from downtown Moab! I would recommend this campground to everyone! Totally family and pet friendly and the perfect base camp for all your Moab adventures. Arches National Park is 4 miles from Moab and Canyonlands another 30+ Miles. If you have Children be sure to stop at the visitor center prior to your adventure and pick up a “Junior Ranger” packet and get your kids involved and enable them to earn their junior ranger badge for each National Park!

    Great location !

This park has great location on S side of downtown Moab. Across the street from Moab Brewery.

They have RV spots, small cabins, and private tent camping. Bathrooms are clean. Good water pressure in showers. Nice little heated pool and splash pad.

RV spots have level concrete pads. They are small and pretty tight. Each site has a picnic table. Good Verizon signal and good WiFi (we are close to welcome center & park pretty empty).

Moab was AMAZING! Moab Rim RV Campark was just as fabulous with 6 stars for customer service and overall experience. We came in late on Easter weekend during the Easter Jeep Safari Event. They were packed but found a place for us in the back. The host brought out a picnic table and fire ring for us, even offering a barbecue upon request. The Restrooms were Super clean and the hot water seemed endless in the shower. Shaffer trail was also really cool out of canyonlands, I believe it was roughly 45 miles of dirt trail. Absolutely breathtaking red rock views and you may even catch a peak at a big horn sheep if you’re lucky!

     Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwiches

As a Ranger for https://thedyrt.com/ I occasionally have the elite privilege of trying out fantastic products such as this. Our thoughts you ask?  WOW WOW AND WOW.. where have these been all my hiking days! An Ice cream Sandwich at the end, middle or beginning of any trail is a sure motivator in our family now. After discovering https://www.mountainhouse.com/ Ice cream sandwiches on our trip to Arches NP in Moab, Utah I don't think another backpacking or hiking trip would be complete without them. What I really enjoyed about the product was it seemed to always be enough and didn't leave me feeling dehydrated and parched. Shout out to all the parents wanting more miles out of your tiny humans, this is a game changer. No preparation or water required was a bonus, just snack and go!

    Moab Glamping and RV Resort

    Excellent amenities and views

My partner and I were work campers at this location from the end of Aug until about mid October. There are a variety of accommodations from dry camping, pull through RV sites, tipis, cabins, rental RVs, and safari tents. The office is also a cute gift shop and general store with fresh popcorn and homemade pastries available for free. There are two different showers facilities that are maintained beautifully. There is also an observation deck for sunsets and star gazing. Lots of improvements on the way too.

    Moab Rim RV Campark

    Close to Arches and Moab

The management rented out a camping cabin site since the cabin wasn't rented. We paid a bit more than a standard RV site, but it was worth it to have a last minute reserved site near Arches and Moab on a holiday weekend. Smart customer service. Didn't go in the cabin as it was locked up, but the site had electric and water and a nice view from the back. There was a shade tree and a little patch of grass which was also appreciated. Quiet hours were observed and the location was good in Moab.

The Views RV Park & Campground

    Best We've Stayed

This park is very well-kept and the views are amazing. Most sites are huge (center sites alittle close together) and they offer full hookup, pull thru, and back-in sites. There are trees for shade. Owners are onsite and extremely friendly and professional. There are modern, private restrooms with shower, toilet, and sink as well as a larger restroom with multiple stalls and private showers. There is a beautiful covered pavillion with great views, gas grills, gas fire pit, and picnic table that is available for anyone to use. They have glamping tents, laundry, and propane onsite. Tons to do nearby including the reservoir, Mesa Verde, and much more. Delores (10 min) is a smaller town with nice dining and shops. Cortez (15 min) has all modern amenities including Walmart, chain stores, and grocery. Park is very quiet and friendly. Nearby gas and diesel available. Beautiful and top notch...they even rake the gravel sites between guests! Highly recommend! Our favorite campground to date!

    Moab Rim RV Campark

Great RV park with camping right outside of downtown Moab

I tent camped at this campground/RV park for 6 nights in early October 2020 and highly recommend this.  If you are looking for a secluded campsite in nature, this is not it.   However, I was looking for a location very close to the heart of Moab which great WiFi and cell service where I could work remotely and a nice camping set up.  This campground/RV park hit all those requirements and I highly recommend it.  The majority of the sites are RV sites here, but also several tent sites, both with and without power.  I booked a tent site with power so be able to work from the road and plug in chargers, etc.  The tent site power has 2 standard household plugs and was right next to the picnic table which was convenient.  I stayed in site G which had a fire pit, covered picnic table, and plenty of space for 2 tents.  All sites have picnic tables and fire pits, but not all are covered.  I worked from here for several days and the WiFi was awesome and my T-Mobile service had 3 bars.  I was able to participate in Zoom calls with no issue.  Bathrooms are extremely clean and there is a small room with a sink for washing dishes which is nice.  The office has a small store with camping essentials, firewood, and ice.  The staff is extremely helpful and friendly-- when I called with questions before booking, they talked me through everything in detail.  Aside from being in more of an RV park setting, there is a little bit of space between sites at least for an RV park style campground and the back of the property is against stunning red rock- which is probably why you came to Moab.  Less than a 5 minute drive to restaurants, shops, supermarkets in downtown Moab, short drive to Arches NP, also convenient to Canyonlands NP.  Highly recommend Moab Rim!
