    Overview

Warner Lake Campground and Cabin are located high in the La Sal Mountains at an elevation of 9,400 feet, next to beautiful Warner Lake. Visitors enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking and exploring many local trails.

    Recreation

The lake offers rainbow trout fishing, canoeing and kayaking. An extensive trail system is located around Warner Lake, encompassing the Trans-Mountain Trail, Miners Basin Trail, Warner Lake-Oowah Lake Trail, Burro Pass Trail and Dry Fork-Beaver Basin Trail. A trailhead is located in the campground, and many others are available in the surrounding area.

    Natural Features

A dense forest of aspens provides partial shade and spectacular autumn color. The lake and precipitous, 11,634' Haystack Mountain are visible from a few campsites and the front porch of the cabin. Short foot trails lead to the shore.

    Contact Info

For facility specific information, please call (435) 259-7155.

    Nearby Attractions

Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are close enough to Warner Lake for a day trip. Both parks contain breathtaking desert scenery, natural sandstone arches and numerous hiking trails. The town of Moab is less than 30 miles away, offering a range of dining and shopping options, galleries, grocery stores, gas stations, rafting outfitters and Jeep rentals. The drive to Moab, although 30 miles, takes about an hour to reach due to the mountainous, windy, gravel roads.

    Moab Rim RV Campark

    Close to Arches and Moab

The management rented out a camping cabin site since the cabin wasn't rented. We paid a bit more than a standard RV site, but it was worth it to have a last minute reserved site near Arches and Moab on a holiday weekend. Smart customer service. Didn't go in the cabin as it was locked up, but the site had electric and water and a nice view from the back. There was a shade tree and a little patch of grass which was also appreciated. Quiet hours were observed and the location was good in Moab.

    Ranger Review: Moab KOA

Plenty of tent sites were available during our stay. There was not a lot of shade and the sites were very sandy. We loved having the pool and hot tub available to us after long days hiking/exploring the National Parks. The sunsets were gorgeous. The bummer was that they were working on the plumbing to the pools during our stay so we had to endure some loud construction noise. Convenient to town and the parks. Shower houses were clean. We’d stay there again if visiting the area.

    Excellent amenities and views

My partner and I were work campers at this location from the end of Aug until about mid October. There are a variety of accommodations from dry camping, pull through RV sites, tipis, cabins, rental RVs, and safari tents. The office is also a cute gift shop and general store with fresh popcorn and homemade pastries available for free. There are two different showers facilities that are maintained beautifully. There is also an observation deck for sunsets and star gazing. Lots of improvements on the way too.

    Moab Koa

    Stayed in a cabin

We arrived on the later side of things and every camp area was full, in all of Moab, KOA had four cabins available so we snatched one up. It was a new cabin and it was wonderful. We normally wouldn't camp in a cabin but after a 3 hour drive, we weren't interested in turning around and driving home. It had a queen bed in the room you first walk in to. Then beyond that was another room with a bunk bed and a full bathroom. Toilet, tub and sink. It also had a small table, fridge, microwave and tv. It was basically a small hotel room. It had it's own deck and cook grill. The views were nice, the staff was nice. We didn't explore a whole lot of the campground but they did have a pool and other sites looked nice. It was not far from Arches National Park and town was even closer. If we were looking for a less rugged camp trip, we would consider their cabins again.

    More bathrooms please!

if you are going to camp in Moab, bring a tent, go mid-week and find a nice spot along a river. This KOA has a lot of the KOA perks we like, such as cabins and showers, but the bathrooms were nasty ALL the time, and there were not enough for the large number of people using them. The cabin was fine though - no complaints there. If I had to do it over, I would have brought along the tent and taken my own suggestion above.

    Great spot, close to everything

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was great. It’s right down 191 from downtown Moab (10 minutes), Arch’s NP (20 minutes) Canyonlands NP (45 minutes) and Dead Horse State park (1 hour). The views are great and the campground is clean. The only thing that you need to know before you show is that you need to either bring your fire pit or you can rent one. The rv and tent sites don’t have a fire pits, only the cabin sites.

Old West RV Park - Utah

    Friendly, super convenient, full-featured

Monticello is the ideal place to explore eastern Utah from.  Everything is about an hour away.  National Parks and monuments: Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, Hovenweep, Monument Valley, Canyons of the Ancients, even Mesa Verde is close.  Moab is an hour away.  Cortez, CO is an hour away if you need recreational, um, tobacco.  It's also a lot less crowded than other places in the high season.

Old West RV Park, plunked down right in the middle of Monticello, is owned and run by "Big Jim," an avuncular trick shooter who regularly gives a show to the occupants of the 15 or so rigs that fit in his park.

Good Verizon coverage; the campground has wifi but it doesn't stretch out to the end.  We were in space 12; Big Jim seemed to think it was not the best spot (no wifi), but we liked it because our door opened onto a view across the street instead of the side of another trailer.

The park will fit any size trailer if you can get one of the few pull-through spots.  Other spaces, like ours, will fit pretty big trailers (ours is 25-ft) but you will have to unhitch and park next to your rig.  There are full hookups and everything is in good order.

NOTE: the water pressure is quite high.  They will lend you a pressure regulator for free or they will sell you one for $15.

We really enjoyed our four days here and would definitely visit again.

    Very Pleasant!

We stayed here for a week while we visited Arches, Canyonland, and Dead Horse parks.  When I made my reservation online, I mistakenly picked an RV site, although we have a tent but the front desk let us keep the spot we reserved anyway.  That was really nice because the site had electricity and I was able to plug in a fan.  (We were there in July)

The bathrooms and showers were really nice and clean.  My favorite part of this campground was that they had a sink area for dishwashing.  The pool was also a nice feature.  You can see in one of my pictures that they also rent cute little cabins.

    Warner Lake

Quiet, amazing views, entrance to the La Sal.

Warner is a beautiful campground with well maintained sites. For just 5$ a night you get a drive in spot complete with a fire pit and grill, as well as a picnic table. Most sites can accommodate 2 cars and 2 tents. The aspen groves surrounding the campsites are beautiful and the sound of the leaves quaking will lull you to sleep. The vault toilet is almost always clean and usually has a little air freshener in it (thanks kind folks!). A cabin is also for rent at Warner, it’s an old forest service guard station, a small peek inside definitely grabbed my curiosity and I hope to rent it soon. From the campgrounds a short walk leads you to the actual lake which is small but impressive, especially with MT. Haystack looming right behind it. On a clear day the lines between sky, water, mountain, and forest seem to blur into a perfect blend. From here you have so many trail options for hiking, equestrian, and MTB! The Gold Knob trail heads to the North, you have the Oowah-Warner trail which connects you to the majestic green Oowah lake, and several more that take you deep into the La Sal mountains. I stay here often and would recommend it to anyone looking to cool down, get some peace and quiet, and to anyone trying to get their hike on!

    Moab Rim RV Campark

    Best spot in Moab!

6 stars for customer service! We came in late on Easter weekend during the Easter Jeep Safari Event. They were packed but found a place for us in the back. The host brought out a picnic table and fire ring for us, even offering a barbecue upon request. The Restrooms were Super clean and the hot water seemed endless in the shower. Guys get there early my hubby said the wait in the men’s room for anything was horrible, I did not have that experience on the Ladies side. The camping inside the inner circle seemed super nice with grass and shade, some sites even having shade structures. We were in the back lot (79) not on the map pictured. The CampPark also had several small cabins that looked adorable, and prices vary by season. Wi-Fi was available, the general store had a little bit of everything and it’s just down the street from downtown Moab! I would recommend this campground to everyone! Totally family and pet friendly and the perfect base camp for all your Moab adventures. Arches National Park is 4 miles from Moab and Canyonlands another 30+ Miles. If you have Children be sure to stop at the visitor center prior to your adventure and pick up a “Junior Ranger” packet and get your kids involved and enable them to earn their junior ranger badge for each National Park!

    Campground Review

Moab was AMAZING! Moab Rim RV Campark was just as fabulous with 6 stars for customer service and overall experience. We came in late on Easter weekend during the Easter Jeep Safari Event.      Mountain House Ice Cream Sandwiches

As a Ranger for https://thedyrt.com/ I occasionally have the elite privilege of trying out fantastic products such as this. Our thoughts you ask?  WOW WOW AND WOW.. where have these been all my hiking days! An Ice cream Sandwich at the end, middle or beginning of any trail is a sure motivator in our family now. After discovering https://www.mountainhouse.com/ Ice cream sandwiches on our trip to Arches NP in Moab, Utah I don't think another backpacking or hiking trip would be complete without them. What I really enjoyed about the product was it seemed to always be enough and didn't leave me feeling dehydrated and parched. Shout out to all the parents wanting more miles out of your tiny humans, this is a game changer. No preparation or water required was a bonus, just snack and go!

Ok RV Park & Canyonlands Stables

    Pleasantly Suprised

We were very happy with our stay at Okay. None of the RV parks in Moab are elite class parks but Okay is more than accommodating. Most of the sites are gravel pull through with full hook ups. They have several back in spaces but most of those are used for RV rentals which they also offer. Shade is hard to come by in Moab but each site has a couple trees, a picnic table, and a small amount of grass. The bathrooms are clean with nice showers. Okay is located on the edge of town and a couple blocks off the highway so it is very quiet and peaceful at night. We’d definitely stay here again.

    Warner Lake

    Cool temps, Clean, Expensive

This campsite is a perfect getaway from the heat in Moab. There is a hand pump water station but the water has a lot of sediment so it is not recommended for drinking. Each campsite has a large locker for your food and trash. There are no dumpsters so be prepared to pack everything out. Also there were deer everywhere at this campground, especially close to the lake. They are not afraid of people and will poke around your site at night when you are in your tent. Overall a very nice place to stay but only 4 stars because $20 a night for a campground without electricity and bathrooms without plumbing is very expensive.

We stayed at the ACT Campground in Moab, Utah in September 2021. This is a very scenic location perched on a hilltop in Moab which offers amazing views all around. The entrance into the park can be tricky as it is on a slope so pull in SLOWLY. Our site was flat and level but some larger motorhomes and toy haulers must take extra care when pulling into their sites as some are sloped. We found the staff here friendly and helpful when asked about area attractions. There is a bit of traffic noise here, but it didn’t bother us at all. We travel with dogs and there is not much space to potty them because the park is so compact. It is in a great location near downtown and National Parks. Moab is a must see and this campground would serve most campers to a wonderful stay. We will be back!! Old West RV Park - Utah

Great owner and nice place to stay

This small rv park is right in town and easy to access. It’s got full hookups for a super reasonable price (we paid $35 on Labor Day weekend for a full hookup). Pet friendly, showers and laundry and as a bonus the owner puts on a little sharp shooting exhibition in the evening. The owner was very friendly and helpful (made chili for everyone the night we stayed!) and apparently he’s a dirt contractor so his sites are super level!

(We have a 17ft travel trailer but there were lots of bigger rigs there as well.)
