    Overview

Warner Lake Campground and Cabin are located high in the La Sal Mountains at an elevation of 9,400 feet, next to beautiful Warner Lake. Visitors enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking and exploring many local trails.

    Recreation

The lake offers rainbow trout fishing, canoeing and kayaking. An extensive trail system is located around Warner Lake, encompassing the Trans-Mountain Trail, Miners Basin Trail, Warner Lake-Oowah Lake Trail, Burro Pass Trail and Dry Fork-Beaver Basin Trail. A trailhead is located in the campground, and many others are available in the surrounding area.

    Natural Features

A dense forest of aspens provides partial shade and spectacular autumn color. The lake and precipitous, 11,634' Haystack Mountain are visible from a few campsites and the front porch of the cabin. Short foot trails lead to the shore.

    Contact Info

For facility specific information, please call (435) 259-7155.

    Nearby Attractions

Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are close enough to Warner Lake for a day trip. Both parks contain breathtaking desert scenery, natural sandstone arches and numerous hiking trails. The town of Moab is less than 30 miles away, offering a range of dining and shopping options, galleries, grocery stores, gas stations, rafting outfitters and Jeep rentals. The drive to Moab, although 30 miles, takes about an hour to reach due to the mountainous, windy, gravel roads.

    Excellent amenities and views

My partner and I were work campers at this location from the end of Aug until about mid October. There are a variety of accommodations from dry camping, pull through RV sites, tipis, cabins, rental RVs, and safari tents. The office is also a cute gift shop and general store with fresh popcorn and homemade pastries available for free. There are two different showers facilities that are maintained beautifully. There is also an observation deck for sunsets and star gazing. Lots of improvements on the way too.

Close to everything and well maintained for comfort & safety

A very nicely designed and maintained campground right in Moab. They have a North & a South site—we stayed in the South camp. The facilities/comfort stations are clean, have been updated over time, and everything works well. The showers were hot and stayed hot for a proper hot shower after a long day. Electrical outlets at every sink for the more domesticated campers. The sites varied in size, so be sure to ask about “fit” for your rig or tent. The several tent sites are located along the back side. There is a Carwash just over a creek/ravine behind that side and you can hear it working all day, but it stops around dinner time. There is also a highway nearby and the traffic is a bit noisy, but traffic pretty much stops around 9-10pm and doesn’t get noisy again until around 8 am. The campground is close to everything in Moab, so you can hardly get a more convenient location. Arches is just out of town to the North, so travel there is a breeze.

    Phenomenal Staff-not so great site.

About 5 miles outside of downtown Moab. Very clean, amazing staff, dog friendly. I would give more star, however, we paid for a premier pull through full hook up’s site and it was situated just above the dump station. We have a 40’ Alliance Toy Hauler. We were not familiar with the campground. I would recommend staying in sites #100 and up if you’re in a large rig. Would definitely return knowing what we know now. Immaculately kept campground!

Don’t let the dilapidated mobile home near the entrance scare you away. This place is super well maintained. Every site is well thought out and has great hookups. I thought a plug water and sewer was pretty uniform. Our site had a pedestal with 20/30/50 amp and then another with 30 20 feet further into the site. Lots of shade. The sites along the south edge of the property have amazing views of the Cortez valley and Sleeping Ute Mountain. Really nice communal fire pit, dog park and some trails too. Some sites have a beautiful brick fire ring too.

    Gem

Small USFS campground. If you like aspens, chirping birds, curious deer, and...relief from lower elev heat, give a visit. A few FF spots can fit campers 25' or less, bring extra blocks to level.

Great hiking right out of the CG.

    Peaceful and Cool

Makes for a much cooler place to camp rather than the Moab valley below. The road construction on weekdays made getting here a pain and since most of the sites are first-come first-serve, it would suck to drive up there and it be full. Very well maintained sites with all of the features you need, including permanent bear boxes. Plenty of trails nearby to see the La Sal Mountains and the national parks below.

Decent RV park that is close to downtown Moab. Sites are clean, but close together. Large shade trees, pool, laundry. clean bathrooms. The park is tucked behind the Texaco station and it is easy to miss.

    Quiet spot with beautiful views

Great experience! Really helpful staff, clean and quiet sites, and lovely views.

When we arrived with my 21 foot travel trailer, we were told that site 28 can be difficult to park in due to the angle and size, but just as panic started to seep into this trailer-newbie’s brain, they said, “But don’t worry, Jake can help you park your trailer into the spot.” And he did! Jake was super helpful and within 5 minutes my RPod was happily parked at site 28!

The site was clean, with water, sewage, and electric hookups on the left side. It comes with a picnic table and fire pit (fire wood can be bought at the shop).

I was remote working, and the wifi worked pretty well (I just had issues once during a meeting when video + screen sharing was on).

The site is right on the La Sal Mountain Loop, which is a beautiful drive up the mountain and down through Castle Valley and along the Colorado River.

    We really loved our stay.

    Rv park Moab

Nice RV park with option for full hookups in the center of town. We were grateful for the amenities and walking distance to a lot in Moab after boondocking for several nights in a row in BLM land. Only down side is how close together the spots are. We were also in a spot close to road and there was lots of highway noise on the weekend of the jeep event in Moab. Otherwise no complaints about this RV park!

    Great Place to Regroup!

We had been traveling for several days without hookups. The Sun Outdoors Moab Utah camp grounds was great. Beautiful trees in the fall, laundry, clean showers, hookups, easy walk to downtown places, yet still quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy drive to Arches National Park and a beautiful drive along the Colorado River.

All the amenities you’d expect from a KOA

Small sites, but great amenities at the Moab KOA. Our site was mostly level, pull thru w/full hook ups. Some small trees and bushes between the sites help add a bit of privacy, but you’re pretty much on top of each other. Camp store, laundry and an awesome pool. Great bathrooms, private one person room with toilet, sink & shower. City of Moab as great, free public transportation. You can call a shuttle, through an app, and they will pick up up and take you where ever you want yo go!

    Great stay

This campground is great! This was our second time here on a road trip from MD thru CO. We only spent one night here so we could ride Phil's world. We normally camp at state parks, but this is a great private campground. The sites are spacious and the campground is quiet. The bathrooms are super clean! Wish we had more time there. The camp cat was so cute.

    Warning re Internet

The wifi provides amazing throughput and reliability. However, I was dismayed to learn that it blocks use of a VPN. That is very disconcerting. It made me wonder whether somebody was trying to hoover my personal information. Anything requiring any sort of security was done on my T-Mobile Pixel 4a phone. REVISION: this morning I was able to use my VPN without a problem.

Concrete pads perfectly level. Utilities are nice, but the water faucet is low to the ground making it impossible to connect water filters and pressure regulators. I will have to get a 90 degree connector for the future.

Nicely shaded with trees, considering this part of the country is pretty much without trees, except for the twisted Junipers.

The spacing is typical corporate RV park spacing. A durable picnic table and one tree between each space.

Well maintained. The public showers were frigid, odd considering the outside temperature was well into the upper 80s. The shower water was a bit tepid.

It is easy to miss since it is behind a Texaco station, which I assume is associated with the RV park. The Texaco had the cheapest gas in the town, even significantly cheaper than the City Market (aka Kroger) gas down the street.

    Great Views, Adequate Camping

We went on a busy weekend and were fortunate to get an overflow spot. Staff was helpful. The camp spots are small and crowded. The wifi only works if you are basically right beside the office. Very quiet for how many people were there, which was nice! Would definitely recommend for a night or two if you're just looking for a spot to sleep while out exploring the area. Reasonably priced.
