Mount Carmel Motel & RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting just off Highway 89 in Orderville, Mount Carmel Motel & RV Park functions as a compact base camp for RV travelers heading into Zion National Park from the east. The park runs from mid-March through October, and sites are gravel-leveled pull-throughs with full hookups, accommodating rigs up to 51 feet. Road noise from the highway is noticeable, though multiple reviewers describe it as manageable. Shade varies across the property, with some old-growth trees providing cover on certain sites and others sitting more exposed.

The amenities here are a consistent draw. Showers get high marks across reviews, with Merel J. describing them as "hot and very clean showers." Coin-operated laundry is available on-site from 4 to 10 p.m., and the property also has a dump station, WiFi that reviewers found reliable, and Verizon coverage at three bars. A grocery store sits nearby. Sites are small and close together, which means the campground can feel tight when full.

One practical note for RV campers: reaching Zion from this side of the park requires passing through the Mount Carmel Tunnel, which has restricted hours for oversized vehicles, generally 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Planning around those windows matters, especially for larger rigs. Campers wanting dispersed alternatives nearby can also check BLM 20R Dispersed near Orderville or Cliffside Cabins and RV Park. Mount Carmel suits RV travelers who prioritize full hookups, clean facilities, and a convenient overnight stop near Zion's east entrance.

Great place close to Zion

Some shade, shower, laundry. Road noice but not the worst. Grocery store close. Small sites and close. 16 foot travel trailer. Some bigger campers. I would stay again. WiFi good, Verizon 5G 3 bars.

Clean and convenient

Small campground, close to Zion NP. Flat spots, quite small though. Full hookups, pull through. No firepit or BBQ on spots, but two BBQ's on the side of the sites. Washing machines and dryers available, $3,-, between 4 p.m. an 10 p.m. Hot and very clean showers!! The best so far.

The only thing inconvenient is that you have to go through the Mt Carmel tunnel to reach Zion NP. And this tunnel is opened for oversized vehicles between 8.00a.m. and 4.30 p.m. So keep that in mind!

Basic but good

Close to the road and everything you need: full hookup etc.

Shade is hard to find. Restrooms are small and noise from the road is right there.

Good stay however, with reliable WiFi.

Great spot near Zion

I arrived here in my truck camper to park for a week. It happened to be during a heat advisory, and my camper doesn’t have AC. They gave me a shady spot, but temps climbed fast in my camper to over 100. I called them and they graciously upgraded my stay to a cool motel room. If I had AC in my camper, I would’ve been fine here too. Sites are pull through with full hookup. Showers and bathrooms onsite. Motel rooms are simple with bathroom and tiled shower. Overall worth the price.
