I see rough reviews but I loved this place

Is it close to Hwy 89, yes, is the Thunderbird Lodge closed on Wednesday and Thursday and maybe not there to help immediately, yes. This is a small town but the facility is awesome, when staff is not there they answer the texting options they communicate with you very quickly and I really didn't notice the traffic noise as RV's are hardly sound proof.

While there we visited Zion, Bryce, Navajo Lake, Corral Pink Dunes, how central do you need to be to get a great review here. Very clean and well kept up, executive golf course (it took me a bit to recognize what 89 & 9 meant, call me slow), pool and spa, store, and you can't leave without trying a "Ho"made pie.

Small, run down , dirty but has great location

This a very small RV park. 10-12 spots. Pretty rundown. Spot next to me had broken electrical post with exposed wires. Dog poo everywhere. A few small trash cans scattered around, but too small for a small kitchen trash bag. I think this park was built as a second thought. It does sit on nice little stream.

When I called to make reservations, the young man casually mentioned that the office is closed on Wednesdays & Thursdays. If we wanted to use the hot tub, we needed to go across the street to the Chevron gas station for a key. We arrived around 4pm and my confirmation email did not specify a spot. So I went to Chevron and was given a choice of 2 spots. The signs are terrible. Email comes from Thunderbird Lodge Best Western. Nothing matches up. Not much Verizon signal and no WiFi available. There is a Subway sandwich shop across the street.

If just passing through for quick stop, I guess it’s minimally acceptable. We would not stay there again.

Wrong phone number!

The number listed here is for a Shell gas station with a “RV park”. Make sure you clarify which campground you are talking to. The campground across the road from the shell station is the Thunderbird East Zion RV Park.
We did not stay at either, but the Thunderbird looked nice, the Shell “RV Park” was a gravel parking lot behind a U-haul rental…

Everything we needed and more

We are in an RV overlooking a riverbank. Across the street is the front desk, a restaurant., gift shop, gas station with convenience store, a golf pro shop, a golf course, a laundry room, a pool, hot tub, all for $35!!!! We have been traveling around America for 8 weeks snd these are the best amenities. We were tired of primitive national park rv sites. So glad we booked this. It took awhile fir front desk to get to us as they are drastically understaffed, but the fee here holding the fort are very generous with their time

Close to Zion

Operated by the Best Western ThunderBird at Mount Carmel. Only RVs. Full hookups with 50 and 30 amp. Great price. I think $39 with taxes. Along with the site, you also have access to the hotel amenities. The restaurant is know for its pies. River or creek runs behind the shaded sites. Rated 4 because there is no bath house.

Frequently Asked Questions

How close is East Zion RV Park to Zion National Park entrances?

East Zion RV Park is located in Mount Carmel, positioning it closer to the east entrance of Zion National Park. While the exact distance isn't specified, the park's location makes it a convenient base for accessing the less crowded east side of Zion. This location provides a strategic advantage for visitors wanting to explore both Zion and other nearby attractions in Southern Utah while avoiding the congestion often found at campgrounds closer to the main entrance.

What amenities are available at East Zion RV Park?

East Zion RV Park offers full hookups with both 50 and 30 amp electrical connections. The park provides access to the adjacent Best Western Thunderbird hotel amenities, which include a swimming pool, hot tub, restaurant, gift shop, laundry facilities, and a gas station with convenience store. There's also a golf course and pro shop nearby. The campground itself is relatively small with around 10-12 RV spots. The site fee is approximately $35-39, which is considered good value given the access to all these additional facilities.

How do East Zion RV Park reviews compare to other nearby campgrounds?

East Zion RV Park receives mixed reviews compared to other area campgrounds. On the positive side, many appreciate its excellent value, access to hotel amenities, and riverside location. However, there's some confusion with another nearby RV park at a Shell station, leading to occasional booking mix-ups. Some visitors note maintenance issues like broken electrical posts and cleanliness concerns. The small size (10-12 spots) limits capacity but creates a more intimate setting than larger campgrounds in the region. For those seeking abundant amenities at a reasonable price point, this park offers advantages despite some maintenance shortcomings.

Is East Zion RV Park located on the riverside?

Yes, East Zion RV Park features riverfront sites. The campground is situated along a river or creek, with some RV spots overlooking the riverbank. These sites provide a pleasant natural setting with shade trees along the water. The riverside location adds to the appeal of the campground, offering a scenic backdrop for your stay.
