No one is here :-)

Downside you can absolutely hear the 89. Upside my hearing is not that good, the view is beautiful, many fire pits. You'll want 4 wheel drive to pull up the hill to get in here.

Siteup the hill to the left, there's about 6 fire pits up her, largely flat for placing a tent.

Excellent

This is a great spot off 89. Convenient to Zion and easy to find. Many sites. Some traffic noise from 89 but not terrible. Some sites have excellent views and fire pits are present. No Verizon service but T-Mobile was available. Some large RV friendly sites but others better suited to car or small van camping due to grade or road surface conditions.

Great location!

Beautiful spot, not too far from the entrance to Zion National Park. We are traveling in the summer during an intense heatwave, and this spot had EXCELLENT shade. If you pitch your tent right, you may be able to sleep in, which was a huge bonus for us since other shadeless campsites had us up at 530 or 6am due to light and heat. Lots of leveled spots for an RV or tent and the view is beautiful. There didn't seem to be any mosquito, or pesky bugs in general. However, we did see what appeared to be mountain lion feces right next to a femur bone that was almost a foot long, under a tree near our tent. This site isn't too far from the road, so you will be able to hear cars passing at night, but it's far enough away to not be bothersome. The path in is pretty easy, we were able to do it in an audi hatchback. Despite it being the busy season, we were the only ones camping there besides a couple that pulled in to sleep for a few hours.

Great camping near zion

Multiple spots on the lower level and if you have a truck you can go uphill for more spots. Very secluded separated from other sites. Full cell service. Right outside of zion as well can fit larger trailers on the lower levels.

Solid Experience

Car camped here and it was a good spot! We saw two others but there was enough space for plenty of privacy. Views were great!! Shade was limited so it was hot until the sun went down. Felt safe, you can hear cars on the highway but not close enough to be woken up by. Would def stay here again!

A little confusing

No bathrooms, no water, free, multiple spots, good signal (Att), easy to get to even with my car, quite, tucked away from the road, peaceful, 10/10 star views, aannnndddd most importantly especially in late October WATCH OUT FOR THE DEER!!!!!

It was a little confusing when we first pulled in. You could go three different directions and wasn’t exactly sure where the camp sites were at first but we found a nice pull in with a fire ring and there was about 7 people hanging around in rvs.

Close to east entrance of Zion

Beautiful place to catch a breeze and base camp for all this area has to offer!

The section of the dispersed camping on the old highway road I chose was on a hilltop, so even though there wasn't much shade, the breezes were great and the views were even better. There appears to be another section on the opposite side of the current highway that is down in the valley. I didn't check that out, but saw rigs down there.

The gravel road to the upper section branches off in different directions. If you go right it takes you up a hill and there was one or 2 "sites" here, but be careful because if these sites are full there is no turn around. If you go straight you'll run into an area with at least 10 "sites" (my choice), and if you go left this will take you into a gravel pile area. There can be construction sounds due to the gravel piles being moved by what looks like the UDoT.

The tiny town of Mt. Carmel is nearby. Make sure to stop at the Thunderbird Restaurant - home of the "ho-made" pies. Kanab is another must. Check out the Wild Thyme Cafe. Great salads!

Take SR9 into Zion and you'll go through the mile long Zion/Mt. Carmel tunnel. An experience in itself! (Closed in winter).

Remember, leave no trace and enjoy.

Quiet camping spot close to Kanab and east entrance of Zion

We loved this free camping area!

There aren't tons of spots(most of it is an open area), but we never had an issue getting one, even during spring break.

It's close to Kanab and the east entrance of Zion.

Please Leave No Trace! Take care of this place so it can be enjoyed by many for as long as possible!
