The gravel Forest Service road is well-maintained but produces noticeable dust, and the washboard surface can be rough going despite remaining passable in dry conditions. Reviewers consistently advise against attempting the steep climb in wet or muddy weather.
The site sits within Dixie National Forest, and the surrounding terrain delivers on rock formations, with ben M. noting "beautiful rock formations at camp." A ravine nearby adds visual interest at ground level. Traffic on the road is real but not constant, with vehicles passing roughly every half hour during the day and every few hours overnight. Verizon service was confirmed by at least one reviewer, strong enough to support hotspot use.
No water, no trash, no toilets. Free camping is allowed for up to 16 days.
