Close to Zion

The spot was nice and close to Zion. Some single spot and a large flat gravel pad that multiple vans/cars/tents can fit on close to the main road into Springdale. Fills up early in the day during peak season, so have backup plans.

I stayed in the large gravel pad area 3 nights and had a great view and a lovely flat spot to park on. 2 or 3 other vans or tents were also there each night.

Nightmare, a little sketchy

Unless you want to stay RIGHT at the road in a big open lot then don’t try it. There is private property along the roadside, very bumpy road and virtually only two (?) sites that were small. We went to the look out, pretty, but then came right back out and tried our luck at Kolob Terrace road.

There was also someone staying in the lot in a tent, but it looked like he moved in for a bit, so not privacy…

Pretty, flat, close to ziok

We enjoyed staying here. It was comfortable and pretty. There were some people, but no one too close, even in late July. 28 min drive to south entrance

Easy to find but crowded

Arrived to the campground around 9pm and it was already filled up. Service was pretty good, and there was fire pits available.

Great view

We arrived late during a weekday thinking we would not find anything but we got lucky, I guess. The directions were good and we drove into the correct road. It was not easy to understand if we could have driven further down the road because there was a sign that said private property, so we just stayed closer to the front of the main road. The road was pretty bumpy but we could get in easily with our 29 foot travel trailer. We only stayed one night. There was not too much traffic passing us but it was pretty dusty. We did not hear noise from the main road. We left our trailer during the day we visited Zion. We felt safe leaving it there. It took about 45 minutes to get from this site to the south entrance of Zion National Park.

Desert boondocking with views

Not a bad spot to stop for the night. This spot is a little ways off the highway. The road is rutted but manageable. Take the right turn 40 or 50 yards before you see the "welcome to the la verkin overlook" and no trespassing sign (The GPS took me past the turn). I came in at night and parked on a little pullover area, but the actual camping area is a large level dirt lot. Room for 5-6 good size RVs, and if you go past the big lot, there are maybe 5-6 sites that would be a bit more private. (Tent campers might have a difficult time as most of the sights have been torn up by tires).

If there is recent rain, I'd recommend parking on a pull off area before this dispersed area. Offers great views, and I could only hear noise from the highway if I was outside my van.

No services, pack in pack out. Verizon service was good.

Great dispersed spots

Quite a few dispersed spots. Being out in the desert there isn't much to create privacy from one group of people to the next but they are far enough apart you won't hear eachother. I was able to see quite a few other campers from my spot but mileage may vary depending on season. Ignore the person that said it's private property, I found where they took the photo and they just went to far. Turn right before you hit the private property signs and there are spots that are BLM.

Great view

Great view over looking the sheep bridge road area. About 10 sites a few larger group areas. Easy for any vehicle but bumpy.
