Hurricane Cliffs BLM dispersed #13-#19 spur

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Clay-heavy spur roads branch off Sheep Bridge Road to reach sites 13 through 19, a cluster of numbered, labeled dispersed spots managed by the Bureau of Land Management outside La Verkin, Utah. The sites sit open to views of mesas and the back side of Zion's ridgeline, with no trees to block sightlines in any direction. Camping here is free, with a 14-day stay limit.

Road conditions are the most consistent topic across reviews, and they deserve attention before arrival. The dirt and clay surface develops deep ruts and large ridges over time, making for a rough ride even in dry conditions. After rain, the road can become impassable for days. Reviewers in 2WD vehicles have made it through when conditions are dry and speeds are kept low, but the spur's dead-ends make turning around difficult for larger rigs despite the listed 45-foot maximum. The Hurricane Cliffs BLM dispersed #1-12 spur to the south shares similar road conditions and is worth comparing before choosing a site.

Cell coverage is reliable here. Multiple campers confirm strong Verizon 5G and decent T-Mobile signal, which is useful for a free dispersed area. Highway noise is audible at times, and the area does see weekend crowds. Hiking and biking trails are accessible directly from the sites, and JEM Trail BLM Dispersed lies roughly a mile to the northeast for riders wanting more trail access. As Haley P. notes, the area is "surrounded by mountains," and the night sky draws notice from multiple visitors. Hurricane Cliffs BLM Dispersed Sites 20-35 spur offers a comparable setup for campers who want a different section of the same road system.

Visitors often highlighted the scenic mountain views and well-marked sites, though rough road conditions with deep ruts present access challenges. Most found it suitable for smaller RVs, with excellent cell service noted.

Great views and biking/hiking galore

It was close to town but had the feel of being “out there”. The views of the Mesa’s and the back-side of Zion were amazing. It WAS pretty busy towards the weekend which I gotta figure made for some disappointed travelers.

Love this Site

I've stayed here twice and loved it both times. The road can get a bit tricky, but doable in a 2wd van. Nice big labeled sites with pretty clif/mountain views. Lots of trails to hike or bike. You're also only 15 minutes from town. Decent t mobile, and good Verizon service. I stayed at site 16.

Treated us well

It is easy to find and there are lots of marked camping spots. 14 day limit. What the other review said is true big ridges in the road making it a bumpy ride but if you take it slow and it’s dry you should be good. Probably wouldn’t take big rigs but there were lots of smaller and medium campers. The views are so beautiful! Surrounded by mountains The stars are amazing and it is nice and quiet.

Dispersed BLM #13-19 spur

Second of the 4 dispersed camping spur roads the BLM has established along the main Sheep Bridge Road. This spur has two dead-ends and are NOT big rv friendly to turn around..so be warned.

One huge negative of this spur and spur to sites #1-12 are the terrible dirt clay roads, huge ruts and after a heavy rain you may not be able to get out for several days..the BLM needs to grade and put a gravel rock cap on these spur roads and sites that need it. Note no camping at bottom by cattle pond.
