Just over a mile from downtown Escalante, this private campground sits on gravel sites with full hookups and mountain views visible in the distance. The property operates year-round, making it one of the few options available during Utah's winter months when many area campgrounds close.
Sites accommodate large RVs with plenty of room for both trailer and truck, though the access road can be rough. Emma A. found the campground open during a winter storm when "most campgrounds and other RV parks were closed for the season," with maintenance plowing snow-covered roads by morning. The sandy soil requires entry mats to keep interiors clean. Corner sites offer the most privacy when the park isn't full.
The laundry facility houses clean bathrooms and showers with good water pressure, plus washing machines and dryers available for a fee. WiFi reaches throughout the property though signal strength varies, and Verizon cell coverage works well while AT&T can be spotty. A small playground serves families with children. The campground sits across from the visitor center, providing convenient trip planning access.
Staff assists with local area information, though roads to nearby gulches require high clearance vehicles and can cause tire damage. Ian S. warns to "be prepared with lots of water, food and full gas tank in case you run into trouble on the road" since cell service disappears outside town. The property sometimes offers evening activities like kettle corn and karaoke.
Tent campers can access the same shower facilities at a lower rate, with some sites tucked among trees for added seclusion. The campground works well as a base for exploring Grand Staircase-Escalante or as a resupply stop after backcountry camping, offering full amenities when other camping near Escalante fills up during peak seasons.
