Johns Valley Road

Johns Valley Road is accessed via a well-maintained paved road. Look for two yellow posts marking the entrance to the camping area. After the yellow posts, you'll need to turn left at a cattle grate. The road is suitable for 2WD vehicles, making it accessible for most campers. While the entrance can be a bit difficult to spot at night, during daylight hours it's fairly easy to locate. The road isn't heavily trafficked, which contributes to the peaceful camping experience.

Johns Valley offers primitive camping with approximately 4-5 established camping spots arranged in a loop formation. The area features several fire pits - one at the top of the area and about four more spots further down the road. Most sites are level and suitable for tent camping. Cell service is available for Verizon users. There are no formal amenities such as water, electricity, or restrooms, so campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies and practice Leave No Trace principles.

Late spring through early fall is ideal for camping at Johns Valley, with summer and early autumn offering the most reliable weather conditions. The area has been comfortably used even in September. Being in Utah, expect warm days and cooler nights during peak season. Weather can change quickly in this region, so checking forecasts before your trip is advisable. Winter camping is likely challenging due to potential snow and cold temperatures at Utah's higher elevations, though specific elevation information for this site would determine exact seasonal accessibility.
